This was my first visit to Blackwall Barn & Lodge, and I was thoroughly impressed. The menu is both extensive and diverse—something I really appreciated. The dining room is warm and inviting, and even the restrooms were notably well-kept. Most importantly, the food was excellent, and the service was exceptional. I’m especially grateful to Darelis and Madison for their attentiveness and care in ensuring everything was just right. Darelis is clearly a seasoned professional and is doing a fantastic job mentoring Madison. I’ll definitely be returning!

Overall, brunch was just okay. There was a decent selection of brunch items, but the layout of the buffet was confusing and lacked a clear flow. It wasn’t obvious where to start or end, which created a lot of unnecessary crowding and backtracking. The omelette station, in particular, was chaotic just a group of people standing around with plates, waiting. There were no clear instructions on whether you were supposed to pick your own toppings or place your order with the cooks. It was disorganized and frustrating. Our server, Nick, could have been much more attentive. We sat at our table for about 15 minutes before he even acknowledged us. Throughout the meal, he made only a few guest appearances and never seemed in a rush to help anyone. For a brunch that advertises bottomless mimosas, we only received one refill. mostly because our server was rarely around. To top it off, there’s an automatic gratuity, which felt unearned given the level of service. Honestly, for the price they’re charging, I expected a smoother experience and better service. Not sure I’d return.

Always a great experience at Blackwall. I think it is the best place in Columbia for burgers at lunch. I have eaten burgers for lunch at most of the other Columbia restaurants, but Blackwall's burgers are definitely superior. service was also excellent.

We went for the brunch buffet and it was okay nothing to rave about. The mini waffles were good, the fried chicken is a workout. The grits were mid the shrimp for it was mushy and didn’t sit right with me.

Everything was exceptional from service, to ambiance and vibe, to food quality and plating. My guests were also very complimentary. Our server was very upbeat, personable, professional and knowledgeable. The manager stopping by our table was a nice touch., and kudos to the chef!

We were excited to have a date night but were unable to find parking due to there being no policing of the lot due to a concert going on at the same time. While we have heard good things about Blackwall, we looked for parking for 22 minutes before deciding to it was not worth it and went somewhere else. I won’t be coming back or recommending this due to the restaurant not caring about non-concert goers or even giving people the heads up.
