We visited Smith & Wollensky - Burlington to celebrate my nephew’s college graduation (1st time at this location). The server was very attentive, but I feel she might have been battling with the kitchen throughout the evening. I noticed that other tables were waiting excessively for their main course to arrive as were we (1 hour +/- after the appetizers had been cleared. She was very apologetic and offered (we accepted) to comp our desserts. When I asked about our order, she mentioned that the kitchen was short staffed that evening. Just an unfortunate set of circumstances. Our steaks were cooked adequately, but not to order. I suppose they were trying to catch up on their orders and rushed them out (medium well was cooked medium rare). Since it already had become a late dinner by this point, I had no intention of delaying our meals any further. Regardless, the food was good and we enjoyed each other’s company nonetheless. For reference, we arrived on time for a 7:15 reservation and didn’t complete dinner until 11:00. We were literally the last group (4 people in our party) to leave the restaurant just after 11:00. I will return to this location and give it another chance because I feel the effort was there but the execution faltered a bit. Every establishment deserves a second chance, but be mindful that your dinner evening out might take longer than anticipated.

Awful food. The steak was basic- nothing else on the plate but two sprigs of greens. Our appetizer scallops were cut in half. They took two scallops divided them in half and sold them as four. The sauce on the side was never served with them. My husband ordered their ‘wedge’ salad which was probably made the day before. We sat upstairs in hallway Honestly DO NOT BOTHER. It f’n terrible

Smith and Wollensky is a very good restaurant that we have visited before but there were a few disappointments. I think the main one was that steakhouses typically have shareable sides and we were advised by the server that that was the case. Unfortunately, the mashed potatoes did not come in a big dish a la Capital Grille but in a small cup. The point is not that they are not good - they are. But there is hardly enough there for more than two people to share. Ditto the truffle fries. The "shareable" size was more like a size you'd get at Johnny Rocket's. The point being that if I'm told the sides are shareable and you're charging 14 or 15 bucks, they need to be shareable. Everyone at our table took small portions when we expected a bigger size. This is a disappointment especially when places like Capital Grille serve large AND delicious portions. This is something to take into consideration before we decide to go back there. Oh, and my wife said the truffle fries at Yard House are better. So, very good overall. But not great.

Amazing. My first time at a S&W. I’m 46 years old. I’ve had many fine steaks. The Gorgonzola Crusted 10 oz. made my Top 5 of all time list. Excellent.

We had a wonderful anniversary dinner at this location tonight. The service, the food and the atmosphere were some of the best we’ve had in a very long time. We hope to return and have the same server again in the near future!

We went to S&W for the first time for Restaurant Week. We signed up for their frequent diner program (PPX) before going. There was trouble getting credit for our bar tab on PPX. At this writing, we haven't gotten credit for the $40 bar tab. Other than that it was a pleasant evening with good food and wine.

The food is great and the steaks are perfect. We started with a complimentary bite from the chef, then we had a memorably delicious beet salad. Our steaks arrived, a bone-in New York Strip and a bone-in Rib Eye. Both we grilled perfectly to medium rare. The rust on the steak is hard to duplicate, and the taste was outstanding. For the sides, we had onion rings and mushrooms. For dessert, my wife had homemade raspberry sorbet. We finished it with a cappuccino and coffee—another truly fantastic dinner. Our server, Jessica, was most helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. A real asset for S&W. We can guarantee, we will be back.
