   The Sole and leeks with buerre nicoise sauce were delicious. The mussels tasted fresh and were excellent. The servers w ere congenial.

   It was our first time at the American bar and we were very impressed. We started off with mussels, which were outstanding. And then we moved on to have a bibb salad which had a light vinaigrette dressing. For the main course we had the 6 ounce fillet with frites, which was very good but next time we plan to try the truffle fries. The server was fantastic and will definitely go back.

   This was our 5th time eating at The America Bar! Each time the food has been amazing! Never disappoints. And our waitress, Lydia was a dream. The perfect way to celebrate! Thank you for a perfect evening’

   My boyfriend and I came in for brunch on a Saturday morning around 11:30 and the restaurant was occupied but not packed. Our server was very kind and the eggs benedict I ordered was genuinely the best i’ve ever had. Order the croissant too, it was incredible. We ordered coffee and it came in a french press, super cute. We’ll definitely be back!!

   The American Bar is a treat in downtown Winchester. If you’re a fan of semi-casual European-style dining and cuisine, this place is for you. While they offer high-end wines and French culinary treats, you can also get a fantastically cooked, simple steak frites meal with a glass of your favorite varietal at a good price. (No food is cheap anymore, but the staff, ambiance, and presentation make the experience worth the price.) I really enjoyed being able to savor my food at a conversational pace and not being rushed. I’ve had a couple lengthy business dinners here, and the mood and reviews are always positive. The private patio out back is awesome, too, when it’s warm and the flowers are blooming. I’ll definitely be back to try that again soon!

   We stumbled upon this delightful French bistro in Winchester, Virginia, and we're so glad we did! The food was simply delicious! The service was friendly and attentive, adding to the overall enjoyment of our experience. Definitely will be going back!

    The website menu is more extensive that the actual offered at the restaurant. That NEEDS to be addressed. We only had three entree choices of a chicken, salmon or a steak. We had the salmon - was delicious and cooked perfectly. I ordered escargo as an appetizer and my wife said she thought they tasted canned. They probably were as it is hard to get fresh, but canned should be thoroughly washed to remove the canned tint. Service was superb. All together, it was a very pleasant dinner.
