Welcome to Koko by Bakan. Nestled in the natural tree canopy of Coconut Grove, our 6,000 square-foot indoor and outdoor restaurant & bar transports guests to Mexico with its sophisticated and artistic design, cacti garden, and outdoor bar & terrace. Our 170 seat restaurant & bar conveys a fun, lively and warm environment to enjoy a true Mexican experience - from our open view kitchen allowing guests to witness the art of handcrafted tortilla making to our spectacular display wall showcasing more than 400 mezcales and tequilas.

Second time here. Was even better than the first. Very unique dishes with broad variety of flavors and combinations. Every dish was outstanding. Beautiful atmosphere and attentive service.

Always a nice experience! Gus is a great server! Even though we weren’t in his section, he remembered us and was constantly checking to make sure we were being taken care of .

The food is alway delicious and fairly priced and drinks are creative and beautifully served. The staff is consistently kind and professional, most of people working at Koko's have been there for a long time, which definitely speaks of great management. It is one of the most beautiful and lively restaurants/bars in town.

Koko is such a vibe—amazing atmosphere, great music, and food that truly celebrates the flavors of Mexico. We loved everything about the place the moment we walked in. The decor is beautiful and inviting, and the staff was friendly and attentive throughout our meal. The huitlacoche quesadillas were absolutely delicious—earthy, cheesy, and packed with rich, authentic flavor. It’s not something you find on every menu, and they did it perfectly. I paired it with their Paloma, and it was the ideal match—refreshing, tart, and just the right amount of tequila. The only reason I’m giving 4 instead of 5 stars is because they were out of churros, which was a bit disappointing since it was one of the main reasons we chose this spot. We were really looking forward to ending the meal on that sweet note. Still, we loved the experience and will definitely be back—hopefully next time we catch those churros! Highly recommend for anyone looking for a modern twist on authentic Mexican cuisine in a fun, lively setting.

Angel provided exceptional service and made our experience even more enjoyable. The shrimp tacos were bursting with flavor and the atmosphere was perfect for celebrating. This is definitely a go to spot for special occasions like birthdays. Thank you Koko for the great hospitality.

Loved the ambiance of this place. The food was delicious, service was perfect. I wanted to try it out since it was the same owners as Talavera in Coral Gables which I also really like. The drinks were also really good. Highly recommend if you want a nice dinner with good food.

The food is always exceptionally good!!! Every single thing we ate was better than the next. The restaurant is gorgeous and the servers are friendly, attentive, and accommodating. We went for Father’s Day lunch and they were so sweet to our kids as well. The verde mole is one of the best things I’ve had along with the short rib!! Always look forward to returning!
