VU Rooftop is a 13,000 square foot concept located 22 stories high next door to McCormick Place. Here, you can enjoy an ingredient-driven beverage program, a top-notch culinary experience and unparalleled views of the Lake and Downtown within a modern designed space. VU is a year-round rooftop with outdoor terraces and enclosed spaces. Outdoor seating is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Due to weather or limited availability, seating may be indoors.

Food was ok. I was expecting more options but didn’t read the menu to figure that out before hand. Jenny I believe was her name was our waitress and she was nice. Because of the rooftop doors being consistently open - it was fairly hot there. Their shrimp appetizer was sooooooo good though!

Beautiful setting across from the Wintrust Arena. Not sure why no food service on the outside deck. Might be more of a night spot. Our server was kind and if you show your tickets to a game at the Arena you get a discount.

The 20% added service charge created a lack of attentive service and the food coming out of the kitchen ended up being 15-20 minutes apart! The kitchen could have timed it better The lack of energy and complacency of the person bringing the food out was not friendly The restaurant had a nice vibe with the views, but the wait service, a lot to be desired. Management never acknowledged our disappointment with the way the food was delivered!

we were hosting a birthday party and a graduation celebration. I secretly asked the staff to provide us with some sort of cake or pie with a candle. They told me they may not have a candle. I said if you don’t, let me know. One of us can run and grab a candle from a store nearby. They did not tell me but showed up later with one piece of cake with no candle. I would have paid for everyone to have cake. seems like they should always be prepared for this type of event. There were eight of us at the table and no candle. It was not a very elaborate or exciting response.

Food was much better than I expected. Drinks were solid. A little expensive for the drinks, but it is downtown Chicago. I’d definitely go back.

Did not like the required security wand for all guests- not a great look for a business meal, nor the stains on the booth seating. They wanted to seat us at a cocktail couch with a low table for dinner. They don’t have physical menus- just an QR code and a short uninspired list of choices. Overall this is a night club and NOT a place to eat. Would not go back

I had reservations for my birthday weekend but someone had booked a private party so my reservation was canceled without notice so my birthday weekend was bad I had to just go home cause I had nothing else to do but the front door men was somewhat accommodating but I never got my money back for the booking
