Service was great from the start! We booked for 6 but ended up being 5 and they put us at a round table to feel more intimate. They brought out the wrong order but were very quick to fix it and let us keep the mistaken item. Wagyu dumplings were a star appetizer! As for rolls, the almost paradise, candy cane, and rainbow rolls were fantastic. The ambience was nice for an occasion where you want to be able to talk and hear each other to enjoy a nice meal. Prices were fairly high but the overall experience and food was worth it.

The food was excellent! We went in a company outing. It was new to all of us includes our DC office folks. Everyone wants to come back. The wine list, while not extensive, was spot on with selections and price points. Make sure to have the “Pink Lady”

Nama Ko shows great potential. The sushi was excellent as was the snapper. The king salmon could have used more of a kick. Overall a great first experience and somewhere I’d go back to.

The service and food here was excellent. We ordered the wagyu dumplings, shishito peppers and hamachi to start followed by various rolls of sushi—all of which were very fresh and flavorful. The staff was very attentive and our waitress Sue was the best (thank you)!! It was a great dinner experience overall and we will definitely be back.

I really enjoyed my dinner reservation at Nama Ko. I ordered the kani crab salad, the wagyu dumplings, a rainbow roll, and two different kinds of yellowtail roll. I also ordered the truffle ice cream which was really good. I've only had cooked sushi in the past so this was my first time trying it raw and I actually liked it. The server was very attentive and explained the menu well and offered suggestions and that was nice. I also had two of the cocktails the first one was okay, a little too smoky for me. The 2nd cocktail, I can't remember the name of it but it had pear as an ingredient, that was really good taste wise; neither drink was strong enough in my opinion to give a buzz. I will definitely be back again.

Nama Ko - Japanese-Inspired Restaurant & Craft Cocktail BarResponded on November 26, 2022Hello Britt, Thank you for your detailed review! Food was excellent but the service was stressful and chaotic. We are convinced our server, initials GR, was intoxicated. It truly felt like he was on cocaine or something. Very spastic and stressed us out, no personal space boundaries, did not take food allergy seriously.

All the rave reviews this place is getting are well deserved. A friend and I went for her birthday meal, and it was a fabulous experience from the service to the cocktails to the food. It's pricey, for sure, but worth it. After reading other reviews, we tried the homemade miso soup with Japanese matzo balls, the shishito peppers with mapo tofu and wagyu dumplings; for sushi we had Orange Crush, Almost Paradise and Pink Lady. We ordered Pink Lady twice, it was so good. The sushi was so fresh, some of the best I've had. The service was attentive and welcoming. We both agreed our meal was sensational and memorable and we're still talking about this morning. GO to Nama Ko!

Very cool vibe to the restaurant. The waiter was knowledgeable and nice with a good personality. Food came out of the kitchen well timed. People who ordered the miso soup said it was the best miso they ever had. The rest of the food was yummy too. We enjoyed the ice cream and sorbet. Craft cocktails were great. No complaints. A bit pricey but I will come again.

This was my first time here. The service was warm and professional. The food was divine. They couldn’t miss with the food. We had blue fin tuna, hamachi, and oysters from the raw menu. The combinations of flavors with the fresh seafood was a treat to my mouth! The wagyu and potato melted was delicious. We enjoyed the crab risotto and lobster pasta. The coconut mango sorbet and miso honey truffle ice cream were a tie in the dessert category. Will be back soon!

Absolutely fantastic! Went with a group of four diners and toured the menu - nearly everything we had was a hit with the group....apparently it is hard to go wrong here. Personal top three: the O-Toro sashimi, the Candy Cane makimono roll, and the Wagyu tartare. Friends found the flavor profile of the Seared Atlantic Red Snapper unexpectedly impressive, the Wagyu NY Strip to be worth every penny, and the ceviche to be surprisingly balanced and refreshing. (Oh - and don't miss the to-die-for soft serve...)

Wonderful food and fresh sushi...we tried the Japanese whiskey (wouldn't try again personally) but the cocktail menu was excellent. The food was beyond tasty and our server made great recommendations on the menu. They only had one dessert option so I hope they expand on that menu. Will definitely go again.

We had a decent time. We would have ordered more drinks but both the manager and server walked by several times without asking if we want a second one. Food was a bit overpriced for what we got but everything was pretty good. Ultimately for the cost, we would have hoped for better service.

We went to Nama Ko for my partner’s birthday dinner last night and left feeling a little underwhelmed. We were quite happy with the sushi we ordered, would highly recommend the Namaste and Pink Lady rolls, however were disappointed with most other items we received. The Seared waygu was salty and overpriced, the tempura shrimp was overly salty, the sashimi was just okay. Our waitress was overall our biggest disappointment in our dining experience, as she struggled or altogether failed to questions, charged us $8 for water (only gave us the option of sparkling or still, so we chose still assuming those were the only two options, ask for tap!) and brought and charged us for 3 times as much sashimi as what we attempted to order. Overall, we were so excited to try out Nama Ko, but left feeling overwhelmingly disappointed.
