VIOLÍ was initially inspired by DineAmic Hospitality Partners, David Rekhson and Lucas Stoioff's, travels throughout Greece, where they acquired a newfound appreciation for the natural Greek lifestyle. Following their trip, the hospitality group opened LÝRA in West Loop's Fulton Market neighborhood and now brings the Greek Cuisine and world renowned superstar Chef Partner Athinagoras Kostakos to the Western Suburbs.

First off James our server was absolutely fantastic! Great service from start to finish.., Drinks were yummy and the food was fresh and delicious!! The setting was calming and beautiful and so what was needed for our ladies lunch date!!! So glad I checked this place out and I definitely want to come back for dinner!!! PS Covid is over get rid of your surcharges!!!

Had a good lunch experience. Came at 11:30 and place was not busy so noise level was good for conversation. Service was fine. Food quality was good but portions small for price. Nicely decorated.

Best gyros we've had! Lamb was so tender and flavored perfectly. Drinks were delicious as well. Saganaki was cooked to perfection. Definitely will be back.

Walking in the restaurant is beautifully designed, and offers a relaxing and Mediterranean ambience. Upon getting seated the worker immediately told us we had a time limit of 2 hours, due to the restaurant being busy, which at the time it had not yet been too full. After this we order which took awhile since our waiter was not checking in on us. We got a couple appetizers and Main courses. The fried calamari was fantastic as well as the beets and hummus. These were also reasonably priced for their portions. For the main courses we got lamb gyro, filet mignon, chicken souvlaki, and mushroom makaronia. Coming from a Greek background, and having been to dozens of Greek restaurants as well as restaurants in Greece, I would say for the most part that dishes are served in heaping portions. So when we received the filet and chicken souvlaki we were overwhelmed. Aside portion sizes the dishes apart from the lamb gyro were mediocre at best. The lamb gyro was extremely good and had great flavor, and with the warm pita and tzatziki it was truly a wonderful dish. The filet on the other hand was lacking in flavor, and was not cooked to the temp requested. We ordered a medium well steak, and received a medium rare steak. Which is quite a difference. Additionally the mushroom pasta lacked mushrooms, which was what we wanted so when trying the dish we were once again shocked due to the lack of meeting our expectations. Aside from the food the service was okay and the design of the restaurant was extremely nice. But if you are looking for Greek cuisine this would not be my first recommendation, and I would recommend Plateia or Psistaria if you want a great Greek restaurant that is worth your money, or Ema which has Greek and Mediterranean food flair and a similar ambience to violi.

Food was very good, we got spicy feta and saganaki. The saganaki could have been hotter, the middle was still pretty firm after the flame went out. For dinner we had Chicken thigh skewers and lamb gyros. Everything was delicious and served nice. Even had enough gyros for left overs. The lemon olive oil mixture was very delicious as well as the red pepper sauce served with the chicken. Diet Coke was $4 each which I thought was high but fine. There were a lot of people trying to take pictures and they kept getting in the way of patrons, a better photo op shouldn’t be made to accommodate this. Still good and Will definitely be back.

The place is v nicely decorated. However the reservation policy is ridiculous and insulting. Time limits for tables and a credit card required to make a reservation. Card is charged for a no show or if Rez is canceled within a certain timeframe. Too many rules to sit at a table and eat food. Prices are extremely high for the amount of food given. Will not return.

Nice ambiance in the restaurant. Food was delicious. Service was ok. Had to track down the server to get our bill as we’d waited a while for it and had asked another server to get our server but he was a no show.

We had a very good time. The food was great, and our server is very friendly, attentive and enthusiastic. The seafood pasta was delicious. The filet was cooked just right (not over cooked) and tasted great. We also loved their branzino. It's done very well and the sauce and spice that go along is perfect. Overall, it was very enjoyable.

It’s a space that feels thoughtfully crafted and distinctly different from other local spots. The food is delicious across the board. Each dish feels refined yet approachable, offering bold flavors and quality ingredients. Whether you’re in for a full dinner or just grazing through appetizers, there’s a satisfying balance of comfort and creativity in every bite. Cocktails are another highlight—well crafted, balanced, and clearly made with care. It’s refreshing to find a place where the bar program is as strong as the kitchen. Service was attentive and helpful throughout the meal. A special shoutout to Tim, who made the experience even better with his warm and knowledgeable approach.
