Liva was absolutely spectacular! When you first walk in, you immediately feel welcome and happy to be in such a beautiful location. The service was spectacular from start to finish. We had Carlos and he was the most attentive server. He was simply perfect. The food was beyond exceptional! We tried a bunch of different options and truly loved THE CHEF'S WHIM and STEAK FLORENTINE, but everything was so good. It was the best meal I have had in Chicago in a long time. Obviously, the wine was spot-on and such a wonderful addition to our night. The entire vibe was indulgent, joyful and delicious. We had 10 people in our party, which is not easy to manage, and they made it look easy. We will definitely be returning and recommend it to everyone we know. Make a reservation today!

Last night, I had the pleasure of dining at Liva, and I can confidently say that it was a 10/10 experience. From the moment I stepped through the door, I was greeted by the delightful Z, setting the stage for an incredible evening. The overall service at Liva was nothing short of impeccable. Our server, Savannah, was an absolute star. She expertly guided us through the menu, answered all our questions, and took excellent care of our table, ensuring that our dining experience was as enjoyable as possible. The wine selection was impressive, and the choices we made did not disappoint and paired perfectly with our meal. The true highlights of our meal were the dishes themselves. The chef's whim which included an assortment of vegetables, cheese, fruits and meats were all excellent. The smoked fish dip was a revelation - a burst of smoky, savory goodness topped with their house giardiniera and served with homemade pretzel. And then there were the sweet potato gnocchi, which were simply out of this world. Their pillowy texture and the rich, flavorful sauce along with the cranberries, brussel sprouts and feta made this dish an absolute knockout. Overall, Liva delivered a dining experience that was nothing short of perfect. From the warm welcome by Z to the impeccable service provided by Savannah and the delectable dishes we savored, this restaurant deserves every bit of the 10/10 rating. I can't recommend Liva enough, and I can't wait to return for another unforgettable dining experience.

Overall really great service and food - just a couple of misses. The short rib was tough, dry, and barely warm, seemed like it was cooked ahead of time and not properly brought to service temp. You can’t order wine tastings with your dinner, it’s in a different tasting room area. The smoked yogurt and sweet potato chips was a great way to start off the meal. The pork perogies were great but the collards were swapped out with another (yummy) side that our server couldn’t explain. The chicken thigh dish is really good but definitely more pasta forward than chicken so the menu listing was a bit misleading. Server, expo, and bussers were really attentive.

I frequently come here with girl friends for drinks (don’t skip the Sea Salt Spritz - it’s a gem!) and their charcuterie. I haven’t delved much into the rest of the menu but based on what I’ve seen, I’m sure the food is great. The service is always exceptional and the ambience is gorgeous.

A friend and I dined here for the first time last night and were blown away by the food. We started with a cheese plate that included olives, a triple creme bleu cheese, and an aged cheddar, all fabulous. Dinner was homemade sweet potato gnochi and their umami short rib, all excellent. I plan to return and try the other sharable plates.

Great experience at a relatively new restaurant. I think they opened a couple months ago. Nice vibe with lots of unique seating options. The seats near the fireplace were really nice. Everything on the brunch menu looked delicious. There were a few minor things that could be improved and I'm sure will be improved over time. I look forward to visiting again soon.

Terrible service. It took 15 minutes just to get water. Took another 5-10 minutes after that to put in a drink order. Then after waiting another 10-15 minutes, someone came by asking how everything was and we said we didn’t receive service and he took our order and made sure we were taken care of. Ridiculous for a place like this… The food was good. A bit overpriced for what you get, but we liked it. I may come back when their menu changes and give it another chance. Be prepared to wait.

We ordered very dry martinis; they came with so much vermouth we politely sent them back and requested no vermouth. The replacement martinis arrived 20 minutes later. (Small martinis for $19 each.) We had finished our appetizers already. Salad came with one serving fork. We requested pepper twice before it arrived; no pepper grinders or salt shakers. Not busy but we had to flag down our server; no checking in. The server never asked if we wanted another cocktail, coffee or dessert. Quiet atmosphere but too brightly lit. The gem salad & salmon skewers were delicious. Duck confit was a quiet dry. Overall pretty disappointing.

We really wanted to love this place. But we weren’t throughly impressed. The service was subpar, the food was tasty but not delicious. The wine selection left a little to be desired. We also found it odd that at 7:30pm on a Friday night the restaurant has 90% of its tables open.

LIVA was fantastic! The service was just as amazing as the food. Kevin, our server, was kind and very attentive. Noah, the events coordinator, was so friendly and a pleasure to talk to. And, Z, the hostess receives honorary mention tonight as she not only greeted us with enthusiasm, but chased us down a few blocks when we forgot our leftover box at the end of the night. We will now be enjoying the Chef’s Whim tomorrow night. :)

Everything was amazing! The food was delicious! The wine was great! The staff were SUPER nice, very knowledgeable, they took their time to explain everything and answer all of our questions they were also very attentive! It was my mother’s birthday and Z made it very special for her! I will definitely be returning!

it was my first visit. i liked it. it was nice experience. we did testing and then we had a dinner. they have separate testing room, where you can get only appetizers, and dinner can be done only in dinning room. testing experience was fabulous. our server was just great

I would describe LIVA as a great place to socialize with a group, grab a few drinks, and try local wines. The food was on the smaller portion scale, although we very much enjoyed the Build Your Own charcuterie board. If you’re looking to try multiple wines, I would recommend the Tasting Room attached to the restaurant. Overall, a great spot to double date on a weekday evening.

Came for an early dinner around 615 and we were some of the first people inside. It got much more lively later in the evening. The food is exceptional! Highly recommend the salmon skewers and the ravioli. Such great flavors in each dish!!! Our server, Carlos, was knowledgeable about the entire menu as well as all the available selections of wines and cocktails. We enjoyed the rosé and Sangiovese. The desert menu was tasty as well. We had some affogatos which were delicious and were accompanied with two petite madeleine cakes which hit the spot! A fun place with great food and drinks. Recommend!

Every worker and manager is SO nice and helpful! I took my fiancée here for a surprise date night and WOW!! The ambiance is amazing, the food is tapas style and everything we had was superb!! Kevin the bartender was so knowledgeable, nice and helpful and made our experience so much better!! 10/10 would recommend this to everyone!!

Amazing amazing amazing!!!! This place is really beautiful and the ambiance is beautiful as well. Everything was great! From the food, to the wine, the staff !!! Very warming! Ask for the seasoned waiter, he knows what he is doing! I had a surprise for my mom during our reservations and the Manager Carrie was nothing but good vibes and really hands on with helping me surprising my mom! Carrie gave us a tour and the rooftop was definitely a vibe. This is for my wine lovers, one glass of the champagne and red wine. Take caution OR enjoy! Top tier!!!! I will be back very soon !

Didn't like this experience because I sent a message at the time of reservation to get some clarity. Was contacted the day before and was told I would have a private area on the terrace, but that didn't happen. Food being displayed on a separate table didn't happen, having enough space to increase my party size by 3 didn't happen plus was given one excuse after the next by management and oh boy the server. Server spent more time explaining her poor service than trying to fix it. From beginning to end, this wasn't what I was told or envisioned for birthday dinner and wine tasting. However, wine was really good, and the tasting was delivered extremely well.

We are not able to section off private areas on our Terrace since it is only used by Liva on Sundays in the summertime or have the Liva menu available in that space during this party. This was my second time at LIVA and I absolutely love it! The food is amazing the staff is super nice and friendly. I made a reservation for 10 for brunch, our server did such an amazing job taking care of all of us. After brunch we went up to the terrace and WOW beautiful place, we had a blast 100/10 recommend. Shout out to Carlos for making all of our drinks and making our experience even better.
