Italian Kitchen - Vancouver
Food was marvelous as always, but I never had a poorest service as that time.
Thank you for making our anniversary a special evening! The food and service was fantastic.
Chicken breast overcooked, dry and definitely not worth paying $28 for. Garlic bread drenched in oil. Overpriced for the quality of the food served. Service was rushed and not friendly. At our arrival, with reservation, we were advised that our table was rebooked in 2 hours...very unusual and unnecessary. This place just left me wishing we chose another place for dinner.
Squished into a corner. Staff not overly attentive. Portions quite small and overall bland, except the short rib pasta was delicious.
Great food and service. We left full and happy.
A good choice for a patio lunch, other than the ambulances screaming by en route from the hospital. They had a good if slightly skimpy lunch special, but the $5 glass of wine and $5 salad rounded things off.
Good Italian food and service as well. Price is in line with any restaurant near to.
Great food, nicely served but busy and very noisy. friendly ambience,
Food was ok only. Service though exceptional👍
And great service. Everything on the menu is exquisitely prepared. Id lick the plate if i could.
Good overall. The soup wasn't great though. The pasta was ok
Italian Kitchen isn’t what it used to be. First time at the new location and I am not sure if management or head chef have changed but the quality of the food has gone down and the service was definitely not great. There were many staff walking around but in an un organized way. Our appetizer came out before we even got our drinks. We either thought it was something that was made for another table or something pre-made that was sitting around. My favourite dish didn’t taste amazing as it usually does. This was once my favourite and go to restaurant for pasta. It was disappointing and I don’t think I will go back anytime soon.
There were 4 of us and none was too impressed with the food. The halibut was dry and lost all it's moist, and so were the meatballs. The veel was also a little too hard. Generally the flavours wasn't too exciting. The place is not too expensive but for this price range one expect better.
There's not much vibe going on, just people eating and talking. It was a very warm night and the AC wasn't sufficient so the room became stuff
Great service. Patio is noisy with street traffic (unavoidable as you are in the middle of the city). Food good, but expensive.
We shared the wild mushroom salad to start. It was very flavorful and delicious but a tad overdressed and greens were wet as a result. We both had a pasta from the new Blue Plate luncheon specials. I had the linguine vongole with clams and squid (done spicy to order) and my friend had the squash ravioli. Both were delicious. Waitress brought over extra bread for us to sop up the yummy sauces. Very good value for lunch.
I’m a huge fan of this restaurant group. I was so happy to see that they took over the location of a long time tourist trap. I came in late night looking for a good meal and the manager was so incredibly welcoming. She made us feel like family. I’ve been back to this location twice since. The food, service and ambiance are consistently wonderful. I highly recommend.
It was our first evening in Vancouver and we remembered from our last stay here, that near our hotel was a very good italian restaurant. Again it was a very good choice.
There were mainly two issues during our bday dinner for 7 people. 1- The restaurant did not have any beers on hand listed on the menu, other than bud light due to an order or delivery issue. They were unable to get beer from another Glowbal restaurant nearby or liquor store etc for us as my husband mainly drinks Peroni or something other than domestic beer. We had some nice cocktails and wine but it was his birthday and he wanted his beer.
2- Second issue is the waiter perhaps was overly busy/ new, perhaps not his fault. He was very nice though but disorganized and forgetful, long waits. Thats when a veteran server stepped in. Also, he did not ask how we wanted our bills- together or split up. I didn’t get a water refill all night (I’m 38 weeks pregnant).
.... Things that went well- the restaurant treated the table to two tasty caprese salads for not having our drinks of choice from the menu in stock which was appreciated. The appetizers, mains, and desserts were delicious and made right. Everyone enjoyed their food.
We liked our table, nice ambiance and restaurant.
We’ll be back, but not as a large group.
I went there during my visit to Vancouver over the last week. One for lunch in a group of 5 and one for dinner for two. Both gave me very good experience. For the lunch, they could tailor made their dishes to suit the size of the group (e.g. adding number of meat balls to make sure everyone of us could enjoy one). I tried the Antipasto Platter, Ligurian Seafood Soup, Seafood Linguine and Pasta Platter. I loved them all. Services were friendly and attentive. Will recommend anyone going to Vancouver.
Good Italian food and a very authentic ambiance. Good for kids as well.
Delicious food, perfect ambiance; incredible first date venue
Pasta platter for 2 was excellent, as always.
The restaurant is really sweet and thoughtful, they use chocolate jam write happy birthday on the plate and with a birthday candle on the cake too. It’s been an amazing dining experience.
Great food, service and wine pairings.
Was our go-to 5 years ago, service has gone downhill with the new location, food remains decent aside from the cold bread, prices way too high compared to other great Italian places in dt. Won't be going back.
Great dinner really enjoyed the spaghetti and meatballs
We had an awesome meal with a table put on the patio. My friend ordered the calamari and declared it was the best she’d ever had. We all enjoyed our various pastas and a nice bottle of wine. Good summertime vibe!
Always a good time at Italian Kitchen! It is my partner and I's favourite pasta restaurant in town. Service is always prompt and food is delcious!
Better than I expected. Food was exceptional. Plan to go again soon.
We took our family for a celebration birthday dinner. The evening was great. Great food, excellent service, lovely lively atmosphere.
Would recommend it and will return.
Everything was really good as always! We went for Happy Hour two days in a row and sat outside which is delightful.
The seafood linguine is the best and the antipasto platter is delicious as well.
Good food overall. My mother didn't like the food so much but I truly enjoyed it. Also enjoyed the white sangria I had.
The food was just OK but not what you would expect from a restaurant called the Italian Kitchen. Very North American Italian Food - However the Caprese Salad was excellent. Our server was good but the time that it took to get our food from the time we ordered was about 45 minutes - Way too long for Pasta dishes. When the food did arrive it was not hot, just warm. Overall a disappointing visit to the Italian Kitchen
Excellent, attentive and proactive service from host to bar to servers
Very nice service I was a bit disappointed with my chicken it was quite dry but I tasted the meatballs and wish I had chosen them instead. But I will go back.
The ambiance was much better than when they were on Alberni. Noise level is also much better.
Service was good but it could be better if the staff is keen in filling up our glasses with more water. I have to ask a few times for more water.
The seafood linguine was good and would be better if mussels or clams were added.
The complimentary tiramisu was delicious.
Staff were friendly and nice.
Very very good restaurant. Everything was excellent : welcome, service, food ... we have lived and will recommend this address.
Very good restaurant!!!!
Vam anar amb la meva parella i tot era boníssim!! El restaurant molt maco, en un ambient relaxat i amb bon servei el menjar excel·lent, ens va encantar!!
I aprofitant el comentari, dir que Visca Catalunya lliure!!!
This was our choice of restaurant for the last night of our visit to Vancouver. We had eaten at an adjacent restaurant before and wished we had booked the Italian Kitchen instead because it was obviously more our cup of tea. We had booked it a month before our vacation and on arrival were shown a table at the furthest away corner inside. The hostess listened to our suggestion to find a more suitable table for our last nights celebration and our smarter attire and after a short wait we were relocated to a great table in the middle of the main area. Craig was a great waiter and gave us superb recommendations without pushing them. Both the Parmesan crusted chicken and the Veal were amazing after sharing a superb wild mushroom salad. I wish this restaurant was at home.
Good food, good service. Excellent place for casual dinner.
