Carbone is Chef Mario Carbone’s homage to the great Italian American restaurants of mid-20th century in New York, where delicious, exceptionally well-prepared food was served in settings that were simultaneously elegant, comfortable and unpretentious. His food captures the essence of that history but takes its culinary cues from the kitchens of his childhood, the great talents with whom he worked throughout his early career and incorporates his signature techniques that blend familiar and bold flavors to create the most craveable dishes. We call this Carbone Italian.

Great ambience! The starters were amazing. I wish there was more descriptions on the menu. I didn’t want to ask our servers to tell what 75% of menu was. We went with her recommendation to do all the courses and get the steak. Market price was $300!! for just the steak, that was good but definitely not amazing. Would definitely order differently next time.

The decor was intriguing, but the overall atmosphere felt more like dining in a warehouse dressed up as a movie set. Rather than feeling unique or inviting, the ambiance leaned toward corporate and impersonal. Service left much to be desired—our busboy was noticeably more attentive than our waiter, who seemed inexperienced and frequently absent unless prompted by other staff. As for the food, the carpaccio was overly complicated with unnecessary ingredients that detracted from the dish. However, the lobster ravioli was outstanding—rich, balanced, and beautifully prepared. It's unfortunate that the subpar ambiance and lackluster service diminished what could have been a memorable culinary experience.

I came here for my 30 birthday dinner with friends and the staff was simply not polite. When I walked in, no one greeted me. There was a crowd at the front, so I walked to check in for my reservation and the hostess, again didn’t greet me, just said “they were in front of you” in a rude tone. When my guests were walking in, nobody greeted them and they had to search for where we were seated. After that, I began to take photos in the lobby with the flash on, and was told that I couldn’t use flash because it could disturb the guest. That’s understandable, so I stopped. Once we were seated, we were told we had to order everything at once because they portion and time everything out. They had the worst possible timing. The appetizers came out about 30 minutes after we ordered, normal. But the food didn’t come out for 2 HOURS! Once the food came out. By then, we had somewhere else to be so I told the waitress to bring the check because we were now in a little bit of a rush because of how long everything took. It took her another 10 minutes to bring the check. Luckily, the food was really good. But if i’m going to pay for good food, I expect to be treated with decent customer service. There was ONE hostess who was very nice and I wish I got her name. She was a black girl with long hair straight brown highlights and she accommodated our request and moved us to better seating after the original hostess put us in the worst seats in the restaurant.

Absolutely love the food and the service is usually second to mone. This time was different. Its was Mother’s Day and the restaurant was very crowded. We all felt very rushed to complete our meal. it wasn’t the usual laid-back, calm service we are accustomed to. This however, will not deter us from dining many more times at Carbone’s!
