Restaurant Anno 1877 is located in a historical 18th-century building in Oranjestad.

We had a wonderful meal at Anno 1877. The chef, Linda, and server, Annie, worked at the old Chez Mathilde restaurant. It is a small restaurant (seats 38 people over a few small rooms), giving you a quiet, romantic atmosphere. When you make a reservation there, that is your table for the entire evening - you may stay as long as you like. And the food - incredible! We were looking forward to good French food, and we received it. After a complimentary Amuse Bouche of Salmon Tartar, my wife had French Onion soup and I had Escargot as our appetizers. My wife had Unicorn fish for her main course, while I had duck breast. Everything was delicious. We finished our meal with a wonderful chocolate soufflé. Anno 1877 will be a regular place for us on every visit to Aruba.

If you are staying on Aruba, then eating here is a must. In my view, in the top 3 of restaurants on the whole island.

This is one of the true gems in Aruba! The staff are welcoming, knowledgeable and attentive, and the service is excellent. The food is absolutely outstanding - flawless execution and beautiful presentation. The ambience of this the old cottage is charming.

Love this place! Food is fantastic especially the duck breast and the lamb chops! The owners are very personable and the souffles are perfect!

A great experience! Food was excellent and served hot! Chef/owners spent time at the tables, Very personable and interesting. The French inspired menu offered us a great variety. We especially enjoyed the escargot, cauliflower soup (many other great options), Bronzino and Unicorn fish. Next time we will skip lunch so we can order desserts! Worth the trip.

This was our first visit to this restaurant and we already know we’ll be back when we visit Aruba again. The menu is filled with many delicious offerings. So, we took the route of no decision and ordered the chef’s tasting and also ordered the wine pairing. Very delicious and an excellent value. The service is attentive and outstanding.

Food and service was excellent. Rack of lamb was cooked perfectly and delicious. Order the chocolate soufflé … it will not disappoint!
