Le Colonial is a celebration of seductive spirit and vivid flavors reminiscent of Saigon in the 1920s. With locations in Atlanta, Chicago, Denver, Delray Beach, Houston, and Naples, the famed Vietnamese restaurant is designed to capture a bygone era of sophistication and opulence. Celebrated restaurateurs Rick Wahlstedt and Joe King deliver exquisite attention to detail in the luxurious, classic, and romantic atmosphere of Lake Forest’s lively Market Square District. For special occasions, our private dining space provides a bespoke setting for unforgettable celebrations. Please be advised that we do not hold an indoor reservation for all patio reservations. We cannot guarantee a table inside if you wish to move.

We went for our Anniversary, we were sat in the back dining room at a tiny table with zero elbow room and a plant encroaching our space while there were plenty of empty tables in the restaurant. They refused to split the pho, like they do downtown. The food was good. We celebrated there two years ago, we will probably not be doing that in the future

Our waitress was charming and full of advice and recommendations for our first time at this restaurant. Beautiful design and ambience. A little noisy for conversation but not impossible. For us it was a romantic night out, and a chance to try new things. Their special snapper was a treat and presentation was impressive. An easy walk from Deer Path Inn where we were staying

Always a fantastic experience. Great change of pace with regard to food and seasoning and options. Food comes very quickly. Everyone’s really attentive. It’s presented nicely really can’t go wrong.

The service is extremely sketchy. There was excessive stage at every stage of dining experience. The waiter took too long with everything, the empty player took forever to be taken away, my wine glass stood empty for super long until I was asked, even though we sat right next to the waiter station. Couple of menu items were good, but definitely not worth the wait I will never be back!

My husband and I got a lunch reservation for Father’s Day weekend and were so glad we did. The French and Vietnamese cultures are beautifully displayed throughout the restaurant, with beautiful images and decor to admire throughout your meal. The staff are exceptional, which you’d expect from an upscale establishment. The lunch menu had lots of great options and the staff do an excellent job providing recommendations and discussing what you might experience with each dish. We had a few appetizers, highly recommend the crispy shrimp and pork rolls! The beef stir fry was packed with flavor and my husband could not say enough good things about the pork noodle bowl. Lovely wine list and nice ambient music made the afternoon absolutely perfect. There’s plenty of parking directly across from the restaurant which is always nice. It’s a high end experience, with a high end clientele so just be prepared for that. We can’t wait to go back!

Love coming here- always perfect! The whole red snapper, veggies, fried rice and ribs are my favorites. Julia our server was great ❤️
