Pros: Great ambience in the outdoor seating area. Excellent service (great attitude from our server). The food was tasty and had a great presentation. Cons: The drink size is too small for the price. It would be nice to have a lunch-sized portion of the salmon meal for lunch for a lower price point. Need more 'main' options during the lunch hour. Need more veggie options that is hearty for lunch.

An Afternoon of Missed Marks: A Disappointing Dining Experience From the moment I stepped into the restaurant, I had the uneasy sense that this would be less a culinary escape and more an exercise in patience. Unfortunately, that hunch proved accurate. The lackluster service began immediately at the door, where instead of being greeted and seated with a touch of hospitality—an essential standard in any respectable establishment—I was casually told to “sit wherever you want.” While some may appreciate the informality, I found it disorganized and unwelcoming, especially in a place that seemingly aspired to more than fast-casual fare. After choosing a table and settling in, it took an uncomfortably long ten minutes before a menu arrived. In a near-empty dining room—with only five other patrons scattered throughout—this delay was difficult to overlook. Once I had made my decision (a straightforward task that took no more than five minutes), I then waited an additional eight minutes before the server returned to take my order. The silence during this time was not filled with the warm ambiance of a bustling kitchen or the soft hum of attentive staff—it was filled with disappointment. When the food eventually arrived, the presentation did little to redeem the prior missteps. It came out lukewarm and looked rushed, as though plated without passion. For the price, I expected flavors that matched the establishment’s apparent aspirations, but what I received was decidedly average. It wasn’t bad, but it certainly wasn’t memorable—at least not in the way one hopes. What makes this experience all the more frustrating is the lack of external pressure on the staff—again, only five tables were occupied, which makes the sluggish service and inattentiveness all the more inexcusable. In sum, There are simply too many places that get it right—for less money, with far more care.

A truly magnificent dining experience. Hello Betty is a boat that serves as the outdoor bar, on the 3rd floor of the Hilton Canopy Hotel surrounded by tables for outdoor dining. A great find for us on our yearly visit to the NIH in Bethesda. Also, a huge indoor dining room, we ate inside on our visit. You absolutely must order the "Sweet potato biscuits", an appetizer worthy of a Michelin star. I had the Rockfish with crab meat and lobster stuffed tortellini surrounded by the most tasteful mussels I've ever eaten. Traditional crab cakes for my wife and she is already planning our meal for next year! Totally handicap accessible as I entered on a motorized scooter 🛵 and the hotel elevator took me up to the 3rd floor. Parking garage around the corner, really inexpensive. The restaurant is overlooking the street, safe and secure. We are anticipating our return, hoping it's still going strong. Service was outstanding, and it was very clean. However, go for the food, thank me later.

First time eating here after looking for last-minute brunch reservations on a Sunday after church and my friends and I WILL be back! Traveling from the Baltimore region, I was a bit late for my reservation having already pushed it back 15 minutes, but my friend was still able to be seated and accommodated in waiting which we all appreciated! Upon arrival, my husband and I were taken aback by the decor and overall vibe of the restaurant. It was the perfect mix of indoor and outdoor dining and spacious between both. Every part was absolutely clean! We kept our food choice simple and opted for the apple cobbler French toast. 10/10. I never had anything like it and it was worth every bite + shareable since the portion was a decent size to split between two! Andrey was a PHENOMENAL waiter—not too overbearing and checking on the table every five minutes, but was attentive enough to see that certain foods or drinks hadn’t made it over to the table in a timely fashion and followed up quickly. He was kind and made the service what it was. Highly recommending this location for a date or with friends. I will definitely return this summer to try more items on the menu (which was very well priced and reasonable) and take advantage of the outdoor seating space.

Hello Betty was amazing! First thing we noticed was that they had a DJ spinning some very cool tunes. Our waitress was amazing, I wish I remembered her name to give her proper credit! We started off with the Sweet Potato Biscuits - amazing - the truffle French fries and the Smoked Salmon dip. All three a ten out of ten!! For our entrees we ordered the Scallops and Grits, the Fried Chicken -perfectly seasoned and very moist - and the Filet of Beef - so tender and juicy, and came with 1000 layered potatoes, out of this world!! For desert we got the chocolate decadence and the southern gold banana pudding. A very peaceful way of ending a really awesome dinner. We will be back!!

The food, service, atmosphere and drinks were amazing. I really enjoyed the sweet potato biscuits with the apple butter. I had the fried chicken, pimento Mac and cheese and collard greens with the pickles. Everything was seasoned well and cooked to perfection. For deserve I had the deconstructed banana pudding which I enjoyed. I typically don’t like banana pudding but that dish was excellent. Our waitress was very friendly. I really enjoyed this restaurant! I will definitely come back!

The food & service were NOT good. The oysters were overcooked & the topping wasn’t good. The broth for the mussels lacked flavor & acid. The beet salad was horrible. And the service was lackluster.

This was our second trip to Hello Betty. The first time, we got the salmon and the filet as our entrees, and we split a Caesar salad. We were both pleasantly surprised with the food and the service. This time, we did the same exact thing with mixed results. While the Caesar, once again, did not disappoint, the filet was not so good. The piece I received was chewy, and the mashed potatoes were cold - as though the plate used was in a refrigerator with the mashed potatoes on it, and then the rest of the food was added when ready to serve. Perhaps it had something to do with it being a busy (Mother's Day) weekend? Regardless, we will give it a third try eventually.
