The noise level is HIGH, you cannot carry on a conversation with out shouting. The music is very loud so everyone thinks they need to talk over that, turn it down and it could lower the noise level. Service is slow. Food is okay, but nothing that would make you want to come back. The gelato we ordered sat out and was very soft when it arrived. We came to celebrate our 42 anniversary and really felt it let us down. We had high expectations as it is a Beau MacMilan restaurant.

Very energetic lively place even for a middle of summer here in Arizona. Outdoor patio cool enough with misters. Service friendly and on point. Food excellent flavors.

Food was good, not excellent, and completely overpriced based on the quality of its preparation. For example, near $20 for the salad with their namesake, Insalata Cala, which was a few leaves of aged bib lettuce, almond slivers, vinaigrette sauce and nothing else. The service was absolutely excellent! But the crowd noise coming from the bar was completely unacceptable and not at all amenable to having a discussion with the person sitting next to you. I asked one of the servers if this was typical for a Friday evening service at 5:30PM. She replied, "Yes, all the time." Overall, not worth the drive across town from Midtown Phoenix to frequent this place again based on overall value including average-to-good food quality and poor ambience. I should've heeded the Google rating of 4.1 (dated 06/27/25) before making the drive.

Very noisy for dinner. The bar area noise overwhelms the dining room. Need some barriers to attenuate the extreme noise

Great evening at Cala!! Paisley was amazing and so welcoming for our girls night dinner! Couldn’t recommend her and this place more! If you haven’t tried Cala yet, here’s your sign! Totally worth it ⭐️

The food was great. Awesome service. Disappointed when adding shrimp to Caesar salad, it cost $10 for 2 shrimp. Great restaurant overall.

Pasta and drinks were delicious. Noise level was way too loud though making conversation at the table nearly impossible.
