Riccardo was born in Florence, Italy and grew up in Boston, MA. Marybeth, a Sioux Falls native, ventured to the east coast as a nanny and then nursing school in Somerville, MA. The two met, fell in love, and became engaged on Martha’s Vineyard island. Moving back to Sioux Falls in 1999 and working at several area restaurants, they opened R Wine Bar in 2018. As owners of R Wine Bar, Riccardo and Marybeth are passionate about one thing: people. They believe that people don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care. With a curated wine list, local craft beer on tap, and beautifully executed menu, Riccardo and Marybeth are thrilled to bring R Wine Bar & Kitchen to the East Bank of Downtown Sioux Falls along with their General Manager, Jane Allen, Assistant Manager Bailey Bernal, Sous Chef Caleb Carr, Sous Chef Esteban Gonzalez, and Culinary Director Adam Schumacher.

    Service was exceptional. Added feature the evening we were there was live music by a wonderful guitarist. Food was also extremely good. Overall, a wonderful experience

    Had a very nice dinner at R Wine Bar. I ordered the spicy rigatoni which was delicious. My husband ordered the fettuccine with pomodoro sauce. Both meals were delicious. Our waiter was very attentative. The Cherry Creme Brulee was the perfect ending to a fine dining experience.

    R Wine Bar remains one of our favorite places to eat. Service is always wonderful, as is the food. We recommend the Champagne Chicken and the. Spicy Rigatoni. The special Cherry Creme Brûlée was lovely—a deliciously different take on a classic. Reservations on a night when the Hegg Brothers are playing is always great!

    We went there for my wife and I’s anniversary. Taylor is exceptional and everyone is so welcoming! It’s a great place to celebrate or just grab a cozy meal!

    Had dinner/drinks on our anniversary. Staff was very accommodating and attentive. Everything we ate was great. The ricotta and ceviche are great apps. My wife had the teriyaki salmon, I had the Gorgonzola steak. Both were incredible, but you've gotta really like Gorgonzola if you go that route. Very strong flavor.
