Etta Cox has been voted “Best Jazz Vocalist” in Pittsburgh for eight consecutive years and has received the Harry Schwalb award for Excellence in the Arts, was selected as one of the 25 Most Powerful Women in Pittsburgh by Pittsburgh Magazine, voted Performer of the Year by the Pittsburgh Post Gazette, received Talk Magazine Walter Harper All That Jazz Award, Arts and Letters Award from YWCA and Lifetime Achievement Award from Covenant Church on the Hill. There is no cover charge in lieu of a $20/per person drink minimum. Showtime is from 6-9 PM, but we are open from 5-10pm and The Study at Mary’s Vine Cigar & Cocktail bar is open from 6pm-12am.

Fabulous dinner as always. Brought my nephew for special night and Mary’s Vine did not disappoint. Food, service and ambiance can’t be beat. Then topping the night with a nightcap downstairs completes the evening.

Loved getting there at 6pm as the place was almost empty but it filled up quickly. I had the rosé flight which was superb and our friends had individual wines which we all absolutely loved. We had appetizers of the pumpkin hummus and brussels sprout stocks. I had the vegan Caesar salad and my wife ate the roasted golden beets, loved hem both. I wish more upscale restaurants offered a vegan/vegetarian faux meat type product: like a juicy marble steak or sausage type meal as many of these products are super tasty. I know most chefs don’t like them as they can be purists about cooking but it worth a try. Anyway, we loved the atmosphere, service and cocktails/cigars we had in the basement bar, which was under staffed again. Our server was slammed and had a lot on her plate but made the best of it. It can’t be easy getting experienced staff of such a unique experience and we understand but we could have stayed there for hours! Anyway - as always we loved it here and will definitely be back.

Mary’s Vine was divine! Great atmosphere and food was delicious. For specializing in wines the cocktails were tasty. We got the Cosmo and season whisky sour. We went for a night of music entertainment by Judi Figel, which only added to the pleasant experience. This place is definitely a hidden gem in Rankin, PA.

This has become one of my favorite restaurants. I especially enjoy introducing friends to Mary's Vine and everyone always loves the experience. Can't recall our server's name, it was only her second day on the job. She was terrific.

A really enjoyable experience for my husband's birthday. The food was excellent. The steak was more rare than medium rare but still very good my husband said. My scallop dish was very good. The wait staff was very attentive. We got the best seat in the house for Bill's birthday even though I did not request it, right in front of the fireplace. And to top it off, my husband dropped his credit card on the floor and I got a call the next day about it before my husband even realized he had lost it! We will be back!

I can’t believe that I waited so long to come here! Everything was perfect. The food was incredible, the staff engaging. We had a tight schedule which we expressed and they made sure that we had plenty of time without us feeling rushed. I can’t wait to go back again!

This place is truly something special! We really enjoyed the experience and the downstairs social club. They have done a great job creating this concept. The service was exceptional. Their only downfall is seasoning. I read that in other reviews and decided to eat here anyway. Our steak and risotto needed salt. If they could invest in training or a new chef, they would hit this out of the park.

This was our first time at Mary’s Vine. The restaurant is beautiful, the staff friendly and professional, and the food was great. We shared a Caesar salad. It was fresh, crispy and flavorful. We both ordered the Cider Braised Rabbit, served over a mushroom risotto. Unusual for us to order the same dish, but also an unusual dish in this area that we both wanted to try. There were plenty of other great choices available and in hindsight one of us should have ordered something different just to try. We shared a Sweet Potato Crème Brûlée for dessert along with excellent coffee. Our servers Alexis and Eric gave us great service along with food and wine recommendations. We also met one of the family owners who was equally friendly and helpful. Downstairs is a wonderful cigar bar “speakeasy” accessed through a secret door. I look forward to enjoying a cocktail there before dinner on our next visit.

The unique ambiance at Mary’s Vine and attention to detail by the staff makes this restaurant one of the best in Pittsburgh. What a wonderful night out with friends. The food was superb, the service was impeccable. The owners have outdone themselves. We visited the secret cigar bar and study/card room in the basement. I see many repeat visits in our future-our new favorite restaurant.

We celebrated our wedding anniversary and upon arrival at our table we had a card and rose petals scattered on it- plus we were seated in front of the fire, so a very romantic atmosphere. Loved the upholstery on the chairs. The cigar bar was awesome and loved the secret entrance! Menu is somewhat pricey but worth the ambiance of the place!

My boyfriend and I went to @marysvine followed by @thestudyatmarysvine just outside of Pittsburgh last night. First, the environment is unique for so many reasons. It doesn’t feel like a chain or that you are simply another number coming through the door. Having such a detailed, rich atmosphere, this place makes you feel special, almost regal. The wine room is beautiful to look at, as are the large windows and church organ. The service is knowledgeable and thorough, looking to make sure you have the best experience possible. The wine list is the largest I’ve seen in the area. Being able to see detailed photos of the seasonal food menu on iPads is wonderful. The food is thoughtful, and frankly, exquisite. The flavor of the pairings still makes my mouth water. Unlike other restaurants, we weren’t rushed, making it feel much more like an experience rather than an exchange. At the end of our meal, we quietly looked at each other and asked each other’s ranking of the evening up to that point. We agreed on 9.25 and couldn’t recall another experience we’ve ranked higher. Following dinner we headed downstairs to @thestudyatmarysvine where the entrance is enough to set the tone for the evening. You enter through a painting into what feels like another time. The smell of leather and cigars fills the air while your eyes look over the detailed couches, walls of books, and humidor. The iPad menu allow you to see the options with a beautiful photo and listed details of each crafted cocktail. You feel both relaxed and rewarded in The Study. As we sat in the leather chairs, we decided the rating jumped to 9.75. Although we feel more people need to know about the experience, we also like that it feels like a well kept secret outside of the city. This place would be perfect for a quality, luxurious birthday, anniversary, or intimate reception. I will absolutely recommend this place to everyone. We will be back.
