Salted Melon offers South End residents and visitors a destination to start, spend, and end their day at this convenient and vibrant market and eatery!

At our counter, we serve up an 'all-day menu' of breakfast and lunch favorites, coffee items, and baked goods - morning, noon and night! You can also join us in our dining room for chef curated entrées, shareables, and hand-crafted cocktails, on Tuesdays-Saturdays from 4pm-10pm. We also offer seated brunch on Saturday and Sunday from 11am-3pm.

Don't forget - our market offers elevated convenience with gourmet groceries, fresh produce, and a vast offering of specialty items that will become your new favorites. We have a curated selection of beer and wine, as well as gift baskets that make the perfect host gift for any occasion!

So I was a little worried tbh when we walked in as I reserved a table for a birthday dinner. And I wasn’t sure it was the right vibe. But the food was AMAZING and our waiter was incredible (David). He was extremely conscientious of my seafood allergy (much appreciated & srsly hard to find these days). The birthday girl, 79 years young, LOVED IT!! We will be back 😊

The Salted Melon helped us celebrate my son’s 7th birthday. They set up balloons for us beforehand and the whole staff signed his card. He’s a regular there and thinks he’s a celebrity at the Melon. The staff always makes us feel so welcomed and did such a wonderful job of making his birthday memorable.

We celebrated a family birthday and father's day with reservations for 6 plus a toddler. We were seated quickly, service and food were excellent for such a busy day! Highly Recommend!

Great food we enjoyed splitting shareables and you can’t beat their 1/2 off wine by the glass on Wednesdays. The Chenin Blanc is delicious. As far as food we loved the burrata, Cobb salad, steak bites, and truffle fries. The fries are dangerous.

I asked for well done meat and it arrived medium rare. Second time it’s happened. Made the rest of the meal hard to finish.

Nicole T was our server and was excellent; friendly, and helpful. We had the Truffle Cacio E Pepe & it was very rich & tasty; worth the calories, Steak wraps & mini crab cakes were also very tasty as an appetizer We opted to go to the “market” for dessert as take home.. Overall, an delicious adventure.

We would def come here again. We actually visited on our way through Charlotte, headed back home. The atmosphere is really cute - half market, half restaurant. It was nice to have a good option that we didn't feel like we had to dress up for. The food was really good. The presentation def was lacking, but the quality seemed decent so that wasn't a deal breaker for us. Also, the prices are so reasonable - also why the lack of presentation wasn't really an issue. Our server was a little meh - had no idea what beer was on tap, miscommunicated about the coffee situation after the meal. It was fine though, honestly. This place hit the spot and we would def return next time we visit CLT. One thing though is the volume level - it is insanely loud in there when full. So, just be aware. We'd have preferred something quieter.

The food was not good. We had the brisket Benedict's . The tiny piece of brisket was very tough , no flavor. The biscuit was dry and hard. We ordered a side pancake and it was thin and crispy like a hardshell taco! Pretty disappointing.

This restaurant was just okay. The location and menu options were fine. The food was okay quality. My daughter's beef in her Street Car dish was WAY overcooked. My son's steak was undercooked. The Hot Chicken Sandwiches my wife and I got were chewy and tough. The atmosphere is impossibly loud. I wish more restaurants would consider acoustics when they design a space. I could barely hear my family at my table. Not a pleasant experience for a dinner out. Far too many nicer places to choose from.
