It’s beautiful place. When we erected there, only two tables and a couple of people in the bar. The dishes were ok but service was slow and tortilla soup was salty, the roasted chicken pieces in the soup was chewy. It’s also a bakery but no desert offered at dinner if they sold out during the day. That was a big mistake.

We love Common Bond, generally. But last night there was no post-dinner coffee available and no desserts….supposedly because the adjacent bakery closed at 6. Am pretty sure that in the 10+ times we’ve dined here, prior to the symphony at Jones Hall, coffee and desserts were available. Just a bit disappointing. Our cocktails were excellent!

Energetic bar scene, high ceiling, bare floor makes the Brasserie part of Common Bond pretty loud. All food selections for our party of four received kudos, especially the spicy chicken sandwich. Sadly, that sandwich arrived at the table well after all other meals were served. Service, overall, was pretty spotty.

We've been here for dinner several times over the last couple of years, mostly going before concerts or plays nearby. In the beginning, the quality of the food was high. On this last visit there had been a noticeable decline in both the food and the service. Hopefully they can get back on track. Until then, if I go back, I'll probably stick to a sandwich.

Great atmosphere, food, and drink. Perfect place to grab dinner before going to a concert or show in the theater district. I ordered the grouper and a glass of wine. The grouper was perfectly cooked and seasoned well. The only negative part of the experience was lack of staffing - when I arrived there was only one waitress working the entire area and no one at the hostess stand. I waited at least 5 minutes before being seated. When we were ready to leave, our waitress was nowhere to be found, and I had to walk to the bar to get the bartender to close our bill.

Pretty abysmal when your pre-dinner cocktails arrive after your food. It wasn’t as if the restaurant was that busy. The 3 drinks we ordered for our party of 4 all arrived separately around 30-40 minutes after we placed our order.

5:30 reservation for a 7:30 show near by thinking we'd have plenty of time and maybe even time for a little wander around on our way to show. Did Restaurant Week 4 course price fixe meal. We were asked about drinks, my wife said the Lavender drink and the waitress stated the bartender thinks there are better options or something to that effect as it was a confusing interaction. I've never been talked out of a signature cocktail on any menu before so my wife opted for a G&T which was flat. By 6:30 we had only been served our app and just received starter. At 6:50 main came, at 7:05 without clearing our plates they dropped deserts and I asked for the check knowing it would take a while. Fortunately I had enough cash to cover the bill so waiting for card processing was not needed. The table of 4 next to us was seated about 6:15 for dinner and a show and at 7 had only seen starter so they mentioned to us they were going to have to cancel rest of the meal to make the show. I've owned restaurants and just sold one of my catering companies recently so I really so try to sympathize with management and staffing but if you are on a schedule for your evening, this may not be the best choice which is unfortunate because when we were served, the food was very nice. It didn't appear to be anyone's "fault" and I don't mean to blame anyone but it was all just off. Oh..and the music..great if you are a 20yr old raving at 2am in the city wanting European techno beats..not at 6pm trying to have dinner.

We went for restaurant weeks. We told them we had a play to be at. They said our courses would come out quick. However, that didn’t happen. Mains took forever. We got to eat about a bite each and put them in to go boxes. We never got our desserts and we were late to our show.

The wait staff was only 2 people (a bartender and hostess) and service was very spotty. I ordered the salmon power bowl which I had in the past and something has changed but I am not sure what. I like this restaurant since there are so few choices in the Theater District and I will continue to go to see if things improve.

Had a reservation for 6:45 had to wait 20 minutes for a table when they were open tables!!! The hostess apparently was also the manager just very inappropriate for a nice restaurant never was asked by her how we felt about the service of the food was a busy day didn’t have enough staff we had to wait a while to be served. For a restaurants also combine with a bakery. We were shocked that they don’t even offer coffee. Didn’t have the beer. My husband was requesting. They should take it off their menu since their menu is on a tablet.

Beautiful interior, friendly and attentive staff, very good food (but not perfect - shrimp dish was a bit salty and chicken dish had fatty parts and a piece with a bone) that I would definitely come back for. Solid date night place or girl’s night out. I hope to have the opportunity to go by again.

Our waiter seems kind of impatient and not very warm. We’ve had him before and experienced the same vibe. There were six people in our group, when everyone’s food was brought out, the girl who ordered a chicken dish- hers did not come out w the rest. The waiter said something about the chef needed to make sure the chicken is cooked all the way. As it turns out, when she cut through the chicken, it was not cooked all the way. The manager came and apologized and comped her meal. Salmon Powerboel is very good- I get it every time. Needs more quinoa though, so I actually get full.

We were kicked out of our table 45 minutes after our reservation started, despite having a 2-hour reservation. When we asked the server why we had to leave, he said that we were told ahead of time that we had to give up the table to another reservation. We were not told this beforehand and were given no warning before we were told to leave.

Food was excellent, but I guess they are work week oriented and this is not a good pre-theatre spot on a Friday night as servers are ready to leave me move you out the door. No desserts available on a Friday night, which was very sad. Server forgot our appetizer. Apologized after the fact, very offhand and after the fact. When we said we wanted dessert server said “I’ll see what’s left I think it all got sold out” and never commented on that again just brought the check. Good food, good vibe. Not a good choice for Friday night pre-theatre enjoyment of a meal.

The price is closer to $20 per person, unless you eat only a side order or a dessert. Tried the Chicken Banh Mi Salad, crunchy brussel sprout and got the lavender cheesecake to go. Salad tasted great and had high quality ingredients. Liked the texture with crunchy edamame. The crunchy brussel sprouts was totally amazing, a must to try. The cheesecake was good but it had a flaw. The crust was not fresh. Would have been awesome if it had been freshly made. Bought it to surprise my husband since I went there to celebrate our 31st anniversary alone at lunch. Of course I tasted it immediately. Absolutely highly recommend it.

Cute spot, liked the ambiance. We went at 2pm. It was dead besides a larger group that had been there before us. The waiter seemed like he didn’t want to be there and his service showed it. We ordered the mimosa carafe which was fairly priced. I thought they were going to mix the 1 flavor of juice we got to choose so i told him light on the juice. He told me, the bottle of champagne isn’t that expensive. Like what did one have to do with the other? Either way, he came out with a small can of dole’s pineapple juice to pour. I ordered the Tomato Basil soup and a can of Campbell Tomato soup looked better. It was super oily and a lightish orange; i sent it back. We both ordered the Chicken Banh Mi salad which was pretty good. We tried to get some items at the bakery after but they were sold out of the croissants. Would I eat here again, probably not.

It is convenient for sure. And I appreciate that they take reservations. But the service experience has gone remarkably downhill over the last few months. I take business lunches there 4-5 times a month, sometimes multiple times a week. The last few times I’ve arrived for my reservation, they have made me wait for a long time to be seated - even if there are empty tables and I was on time for my reservation. And yesterday they literally told us to stand outside the restaurant until they were ready. It was quite rude. I’ll probably keep going there because of the convenience but the service makes me hesitate and I’ll be more careful who I take there as I can’t count on friendly service.
