   Nothing special about this restaurant. Food seemed overpriced for its presentation and late delivery. Service was mediocre. Decor itself was bland and boring. Would rather spend those prices at better restaurants.

   Total disorganization!!! Manager and waiter tried their best but the bar and kitchen were backed up! Salad came before our drinks; main course before our soup! Waited 45 minutes before our order was even taken and bread brought to the table. When I made the reservation, I said we were celebrating two birthdays. Apparently that was never noted because there was no birthday dessert or recognition. My two children came from Florida to celebrate the birthdays and the whole experience was a total disappointment. We will never go back to Sullivan's!!!

   I say this with the understanding that sometimes, a restaurant gets hit hard for a little while and cannot handle the unexpected volume. But our experience was beyond-that awful. While one of the managers did help us finally - after we had still not received our food or any service for over two hours (he removed the meals and drinks we never received, and discounted the few drinks and one appetizer that we did receive), the entire experience was so bad that our group sadly cannot justify returning.

   The service was poor. Waitress messed up our drink orders multiple times. Manager came over and when we explained the mix up he said “well the waitress said this is what you ordered,” which was incorrect. Waitress would also disappear for long periods of time and not check on us. We had to go find our own salt and pepper shakers and ask for steak knives. We ordered seafood appetizers (it was not very good) and had to ask for the accompaniments which are listed to come with it and suppose to be brought out with it. Manager said he was going to take off a couple drinks for the mix up (which he did) but then charged us for a drink we never ordered or received. By the end of the experience we didn’t even care to bring it up as we just wanted to pay and get out of there. Steak was fine but the experience turned me off to ever want to come back as the place is not cheap and you don’t pay that much for bad service. We won’t be back.

   My mom and I came for an early Mothers Day celebration and we had a wonderful time! From the service to the food to the atmosphere, everything was too notch! Our server was extremely kind and even bought us a glass of wine for Mother’s Day! We had the shrimp cocktail, table side BLT salad and the crab cake entree and everything was delicious! Espresso martinis were ok, we have had better but we loved everything over all!

    I don’t write negative reviews often, but this was such an unpleasant experience. We weren’t greeted by the hostess nicely. We were seated and didn’t get greeted by waitress for 20 minutes, then it took 30 minutes total to even get a glass of water poured (which we had to ask for fresh glasses because there were particles of something’s dried inside the glass- disgusting). We got our salads before our appetizer, the waitress apologized. No big deal to us. We weren’t offered any bread. Every other table was speaking to a manager at length which was our first red flag. We should have ran when we noticed that. The table next to us was really upset over something speaking to multiple managers. Lastly, waitress disappeared yet again for about 30 minutes while we anxiously waited for our check. Mind you, the place wasn’t busy AT ALL. Saturday night in downtown Pittsburgh you expect it to be fairly full, well looking around the dining area- there were 6 tables with patrons. The steak was surprisingly good, thankfully! Which is why I’m giving it a single star.

    This restaurant was empty on a Friday night, but fully staffed. The waitress was lovely, however the food was terrible. French Onion soup was like water, crab cakes served cold, lamb overcooked and sides never delivered to the table. A surprising disappointment. Do not recommend.

    We went for our counsins birthday and had an absolutely wonderful experinece. We have been to all the Starkhouse's in Pittsburgh and this stands out amongst the best.     Our waitress was lovely. The filets were undercooked. We sent them back. Mine came back to be fine, but my husband's was still almost raw. The steaks were much too salted. The manager came over and was very kind. He told us that their signature way of seasoning was very heavy. It was our first time at the restaurant and wewere unaware of this and didn't know to ask to go light on the salt. It would have been helpful if we had been made aware of this. In the end, we had a reward from Open Table that was very difficult for them to process. We waited a very long time and the problem was not resolved. The manager did make it up to us in the end.

    The hostess sat us today. When I thanked her for handing us the menu’s she informed me that ladies were given their menus first. We all kind of laughed until she proceeded to lecture me that ladies were treated like ladies and her “daddy” raised her to care for ladies first. It was uncomfortable to the point that my mother and girlfriend wanted to leave… Then comes the dining. Wow- it actually got worse. We didn’t receive some of the drinks we ordered, our appetizer was never brought to us. When my girlfriend inquired what the herb chicken had on it, the waitress told her I don’t know. I don’t work lunch normally. I am a fan of salt, but the steak although cooked perfectly was extremely salty. Truthfully, I said I’d never come back after the experience with the hostess, but the food was a joke and so was the service. I’ve written one review on here under 5 stars. This was awful, horrendous and truthfully I hope that you’ve read this far and tell yourself not to go. Awful!!!

    Son’s birthday. Horrible experience. His meal and my meal was wrong. They took them back. Meanwhile husband ate entire dinner while we waited 40 more minutes for ours. Still wrong. Ate anyway. I’ve cold mashed potatoes and cold everything else. Third time here. Always an issue. Will never go back. Too many awesome steak houses in Pgh with great service and food.

    We were at Sullivan's for an early dinner on Easter Sunday, 4:30, the floor had crumbs, and needed vacuumed. They could have used a small portable sweeper. Other than that, the music volume is perfect, the service is always excellent and the food delicious. We definitely will return. A bonus they validate parking.

    Our server was very nice and attentive. We came in for a promotion that was received via email, 5 dine for $130, however was made aware that this was an online only promotion (not listed on the email). Since we could not utilize the promotion, we decided to go for the Prefix course which was good (salad, entree with side, and dessert). My daughter, son and I got the NY strip steak. They highly enjoyed their steak, my steak was a little over cooked. The mashed potatoes i received was very good, however their mash was very salty. It would have been nice to have more consistency with the food, but overall our experience was good. The kids enjoyed the shrimp and steak eggrolls. Those were the highlight of our dinner.

    Took my family here from out of state and they absolutely dropped the ball. Bad service food not correct. Waited 8 months go back and same story food not right drink order wrong i was given a discount but id rather have good food and service we wont be back.

    Should have headed the warning of the reviews for the week prior to our visit. Stopped in for a quick bite before the Penguins game. I gave the hostess my name for the reservation, and she didn't even say hello or look up. She just handed a piece of paper to the Maître d', who also barely acknowledged our existence while he sat us. I ordered a beer, and the waiter returned about 10 minutes later to let me know they were out. The substitute beer I got was literally room temperature. It must have just been sitting on a shelf and they needed another India Pale Ale substitute. We just ordered drinks and appetizers. Most of them were "fine," except for the pork belly, which seemed like they forgot to cook it or slice it. It was not sliced into medallions, and it was completely cold. I think we accidentally ate raw pork belly. All in all, this place is a wanna be high end steak house. It has similar prices to Capital Grille, Ruth's Christ, Del Frisco's, etc., but the quality and professionalism are nowhere near those restaurants. This place survives on location alone, and given the history of restaurants in that space, I don't see it lasting much longer. Oh, and there was some bizarre humming/whistling/screeching noise that lasted almost the entire meal. The only reason to go to this place is that you can park in the building and then walk to PPG Pains.

    We went to this Sullivan's prior to the Penguins game on 3/25. We were seated at our reservation time of 5:45. Keep in mind that the game starts at 8:00. We made our waiter aware of the game time and he said we would have plenty of time. It took over an hour to get our main course. Most of it was cold. Steak, Crab cakes, Mashed potatoes all cold. The only thing that was hot was the au gratin potatoes. We couldn't send it back because we were already going to be late for the game. Our meals came with dessert. We had to shove them in between getting the dessert and the waiter running our cards. We were late for the game. We had over 2 hrs to eat to get to the game. The waiter wasn't worried at all with us being late. So we paid over 200 dollars for a cold meal and missed some of the game.

    Our meals were delicious. One of the best steaks in the city and I’ve lived here for over 25 years. Service was lovely but a little slow due to high patronage and all that was going on in the city. Would definitely go there again.

    Went for lunch during the week and for a two-week special they were running (mainly a change in price). Although the food was delicious, it took over 40 minutes to get out food out to us. Our table server was good but the overall service of having this extended wait for our meals was a disappointment. The food that was ordered were burgers and fries, nothing out of the ordinary, and a staple on the menu.

    It was a busy night as the Penguins were playing- I had a reservation at 5:30pm- The hostess didn't come to the desk for over 10 minutes- so we decided to head to sit in the bar area. The waitress at the bar tried her best but there was not enough staff for the number of people at the bar- My wine glass was dirty and we never got our entire order of food which was appetizers- so we left at 6:40pm- Would not recommend.

    trying to check in was an absolute cluster, waiting for 5 minutes while the hostess trues to figure out her tablet. sat at the bar and then went back to check us in so my name cleared on open table. Food was average-French onion soup tasted like it was chicken based, not a rich beef stock. Sliders were dry-and I ordered vodka martini, slightly dirty and the drink was SO dirty, I count drink it. Pass. There are way better restaurants in Pitt—this was close to our hotel and I booked it for the convenience factor-but never again z

    We had a staff lunch there this afternoon and it was absolutely fabulous. Our server was Ashley and she was WONDERFUL! She was very helpful and full of personality. Our food was delicious and we enjoyed ourselves. We will definitely be back and we will request Ashley since she was just perfect.     Went for Brunch at 11:15. We were there first customers in the restaurant. We had ordered CRABCAKES for appetizers and 2 soups bisque and French onion. It took over 40 minutes and when it came out my French onion soup was black…. Not caramelized…. I sent it back and our server Jasiya told me she would get it fixed. Instead our entrees came out and with cold fries. She ended up bringing the soup back which she took off the bill which was nice …. But it was the same soup with Extra cheese on top and still had the burnt cheese in it. So instead of a new soup they took the cheap way and tried to cover it. Our total experience took over 1 1/2 hours. When only 4 other people were in the restaurant. Not acceptable.

    Unfortunately I would NOT recommend coming to this restaurant. We had an incredibly disappointing experience here for a friends birthday. The service was just awful and the food was mediocre at best. We had an early reservation and the restaurant was not busy so I have no excuse why it was so bad- there are other choices in pittsburgh if your looking for a good meal, I’d go somewhere else

    Like I told our waiter Jeff “ we went to a place in DC that was a Michelin star restaurant and thought the food was great but after tasting the food here it blew the other place out of the water! “ The steak and cheese egg rolls were my absolute favorite. Don’t ever take them off the menu. The mini beef Wellingtons were really good, could have used more of the delicious sauce. I had the Caesar salad (sooo delicious), rack of lamb (cooked to perfection), and the baked potato (very good). My husband had the shrimp and lobster bisque (absolutely loved it) and took the waiters opinion and got the Porterhouse steak with the pepper corn sauce (he said it was cooked perfectly and delicious), the baked potato (very good), and we shared an order of the Brussel sprouts (loved the flavor and the fact they were shredded). Our cocktails were made perfectly, loved the four we tried. We were so full that we took our desserts to go. I ordered the chocolate bliss but they didn’t have any so that was disappointing a little. The peanut butter pie had an overwhelming cream cheese flavor which some people like but we thought it could have used less cream cheese and more peanut butter. Overall it was a great eating experience and the food was delicious. Jeff our waiter was on point and gave us wonderful recommendations. You guys would be very happy to have a great employee on your team! Thank you so much, your restaurant has made our vacation even better. I’m so glad we chose to eat here.
