Skyler Reeves opened the Barley Hound in May of 2015. With a large dog friendly patio, welcoming casual atmosphere, and outstanding food and drinks it has quickly become one of Prescott’s favorite restaurants.

Barley Hound aims to be at the forefront of the culinary experience while maintaining a welcoming and casual small town vibe. The menu is designed to please adventurous eaters, while also featuring some delicious familiar items. A house ground chuck cheeseburger with fries is just as at home on our menu as our oxtail stew or scotch egg. The menu changes seasonally due to our heavy reliance on local produce.

The beverage program takes its lead from the dinner menu and focuses on local and fresh ingredients. We offer eight Arizona craft beers on draft, a small and eclectic wine list, and an extensive spirits list. Great care is taken in forming our craft cocktail menu, which features fresh, innovative cocktails, as well as classic cocktails made with house sq

We normally have a great experience here. Unfortunately the service was extremely slow tonight. And that will affect our choice to come again.

This will be my last time at Barley Hound. My 1st experience was very good. My 2nd experience was a bit lacking, but was thinking it was just an off night. This 3rd experience was a Father's Day dinner with a party of 6 people. Service was very slow. 3 of the 6 dinners were pretty bland and terrible. The creamy polenta was anything but creamy. Grainy & flavorless. The sliced steak was overcooked and extremely tough. The shrimp was flavorless and likely boiled. The pork sandwich was bland. The entire night was very disappointing. Our waitress mentioned that the kitchen staff was new. Fire them now! I won't give them my $200+ again.

Service and ambiance were good. Inside the restaurant the music played too loudly. That is difficult for anybody older or trying to carry on a normal conversation. We started with a brata advertiser. It was very tasty! My only gripe is not enough bread to go with the amount of cheese and people. Our group ordered the braised short ribs. My son thought they were meh. They came highly recommended by the server. And for the price, I did feel the portion size was a tad small. Another person at our table had the steak sandwich and fries. That was excellent! Came with very good horseradish and spicy ketchup, and the sandwich and the fries were delicious. Fries are home cut. I had the Cod piccata. The serving size of fish was small, and the flavors just did not wow me. I asked for fresh parmesan to be brought to the table so I can add a little something something to the pasta. It wasn't a bad dish. it just wasn't full on flavor. Overall, it was a decent experience, and we will be back.

Although we had a reservation, we were seated at the worst possible table and told that other tables were reserved for larger parties. This turned out not to be true as another couple was seated subsequently at the table I requested and was denied. The hostess never returned with the promised drink menus although she walked past us several times, and we were not offered water while we waited as other patrons who arrived after us were. After waiting 10 minutes without being greeted by a server, we left and went to another local restaurant.

Great food - steak sandwich with truffle fries! Love that pups are welcome. The only thing that could be better is cushioned benches...very uncomfortable.
