   Food is pretty good. We go here often and like it. The menu changes in positive ways. It can get noisy and was this evening, but we enjoyed ourselves.

   We had a lovely unrushed evening on the patio. The food was delicious and the service was warm, friendly, and efficient. The crimson quill is pretty much the perfect drink for a warm spring night. But be forewarned, when they say the carrot cake is big, they actually mean it may be enough to serve a family of four! 😀

   I lived in DC in 80's and used to enjoy visits to the coffee shop at Kramer Books and Afterworks.I was pleasantly surprised when I saw it still in operation a few blocks from my hotel. The menu looked expansive enough for picky friends and had good reviews. We sat outside on a pleasant nite. The back dining area is nothing special. There were some other rooms but they didnt seem really for meals. We enjoyed the food. The waiter was correct to hedge when he was asked if something was spicy. He told the ingredients but said that spicy is individual. He did give some guideline. We started with Brussels spouts appetizer. A couple of cheesesteaks, salmon and duck pizza. We were all satisfied with our meal. If looking for a casual place with good reasonably priced food near Dupont Circle, I'd recommend Kramers

   My go to neighborhood restaurant. Several items on menus are satisfying and reliable. Salads and sandwiches are my favorites. Service is prompt and setting is friendly if bit uncomfortable (small tables and tight spacing). Still, I recommend it.

   Friendly staff who really seem to enjoy working at Kramer's. Good food and portion size. Will definitely come back when in DC area.

   I have eaten at Kramers quite a few times in the past, and it is obvious that both the food and service level have taken quite a nosedive the past few years. We arrived at 7:20, promptly ordered and the mains did not arrive until 8:20. One hour. The Hummus appetizer was uninspiring, the kitchen did not have pita so it was substituted with bread, and the slices of cucumber and radish thrown around the humus was not inviting. The main I ordered, Mushroom Lasagna came on a deep dish and had the consistency of soup. I hardly tasted the mushrooms, just chuncks of cheese floating in the too salty sauce. My companions salmon was OK at best. With a diet coke and extremely generous 20% tip, bill came to $82. Not sure for what, though. Won't be eating at Kramers in the future. They should stick to what they do good - selling books.

   I've been a fan of Kramerbooks & Afterwords for years, so it's great to see this landmark still going strong. An amazing bookstore, a warm, inviting restaurant attached, delicious food, a friendly and professional team, and welcoming vibe. It has an excellent location, too, right by the Dupont Metro. I wouldn't change a thing about this place!

    We had 6 poeple and I am glad that we made a reservation for there was a perfect large table for us in a quiet raised, partially walled area. It could have seated 8 comfortable and 10 or more with a squeeze and made it easy to be together and hear each other and yet feel a part of the energetic crowd 1/2 a level lower! I think it was the only such table unless you sat in the bar area.
