    The food was excellent (except we asked for dark meat & received white meat) the chef gave our waitress a hard time insisting our food was dark but I took the wing off. Restaurant claims they have a variety of beer but when Asked for certain kind of beer they were out. Our waitress didn’t come check on us to see if we wanted anything.

    Our server tried her best but she was the only one on duty. The food was just ok. The cornbread saved the day! Mac and cheese and brisket were the worse part of my meal. The rib tips, chicken and collards were fine but could have been seasoned better.

    Mediocrity abounds at this generally average location. Everything needs a spiffing up. The wait staff was non existent. 15 minutes to get drink service, when there is only one other table seating in the joint? The brunch service was atrocious. Again, should have known when there was only one other table seated at 11AM for brunch. Food was substandard in all ways. Collards out of a can? Bland? That would be an upgrade.

    The food wasn’t anything to write home about on this night. I’ve had take out from here before that was much better. The service matched the food. My server worked behind the bar as well and acted as if he really didn’t want to be there. He spoke to us in a very matter of a fact kind of tone or when we asked questions about the drinks he spoke very low and as if we should know the answers to those questions..every time I come to the Hyde Park location the staff is always doing their own thing. On their cell phones behind the bar, sitting at the bar eating. This location needs to be retrained and or hire a staff that cares.

    it was terrible, got there at 5:20pm my husband got his food at 6:37 ,& I didn't get my food until 7:30 all I ordered was shrimp & gritsI will never eat here agian.

    I was so disappointed in the customer service. We waited 40 minutes for a salad. Our waitress disappeared so we had to grab another waitress to get our food. Once my food can my corn in the cob was burnt and my rib tips were rubbery. I was very disappointed considering how excited I was to try it out.

    I was so disappointed with this restaurant. There were very few people in there but the waiter would leave and not come back for a while. His personality was such where we did not feel welcome. The carpet looked as if they had not vacuumed in a while. The booth seats looked frayed, some you can see the cuts from wear and tear. The coleslaw had to be sent back because it was barely edible, simply not good. The mac and cheese tasted powdery as if they used cheese powder instead of real cheese to make it and the consistency was watery. The smoked chicken wings and chicken gumbo were good items but the ribs were as if they were served from yesterday and not fresh. It was my mother's birthday so she had a bad experience and I promised to make it up to her. I will not come here again.

    I went out with my boyfriend and we wanted to try something new. When we entered the place, I noticed the air conditioner was not working, so they had to use a portable one. I ordered the salmon dinner and he ordered the fried rib dinner. The salmon did not have much flavor and I had to constantly squeeze some lemon wedge in order for it to have flavor. The red beans and rice was NOT the traditional type and the collard greens were bland. My boyfriend said his dinner was okay, but not very good. I wood give it a 2.5 due to the sweet potato fries and the waitress being okay
