What a delightful place - excellent food, charming service, pleasing space, and not outrageously expensive.
so good , brought my mom and she was happy. good quiet place for reunions.
Perfect from the start. We arrived early and the host was so gracious. He sent us next-door to the café and came to pick us up when our table was ready. He had a perfect table in the back for us and was so gracious. Our waiter was wonderful and the food was delicious. We had a very nice evening. Love this little neighborhood gem.
Excellent food, cute French restaurant in Fort Greene
Service was bad. Food was average. Don’t waste your time.
Staff is super helpful and nice. The pate’, steak au poivre, and chicken couscous were all amazing. And, the Margaux Bordeaux was excellent as well. Highly recommend!
Love my lil neighborhood spot where i feel at hime and abroad at the same time. :)
I've been to the Cafe Paulette several times. The food is quite good. I'm a vegetarian, and they do not have many choices, but I've had the Moroccan CousCous before and it was very good. I ordered it this time, and the zuccini/squash was WAY overcooked and mushy. The restaurant was not particularly busy so I'm not sure why the kitchen needed to overcook the vegetables.
The Beet Salad was very tasty, and fine for an appetizer portion. My friends had the Steak Au poivre which was good (but cooked with peppers, not peppercorns).
I will go back, but was disappointed in the food this time.
The service was excellent and the place was not crowded (usually it is). Reservations recommended. Also note that they will give away your table quickly if it's busy (so be on time with your reservation)
This is very special restaurant with the look and feel of a cozy French cafe and the wonderful food and excellent wait and cooking staff that should go with it. There were no disappointments, just delicious, nicely presented food served in surprisingly generous portions. By all means leave room for desert.
Cafe Paulette is the perfect pre/post theater spot. They have a great wine selection and their radish board is divine.
Great food, fine spot near BAM. Fourth time there, always friendly usually good service. This time on a very crowded early Friday early evening, they were packed and took forever to bring entrees. Almost missed our 7:30 show -arrived at 5:30-but they brought the check quickly. Will go back because the food was so good. I made a fuss but they were cool if not indifferent
Perfectly charming. My friend and I dined here to catch-up after her week long trip in Portugal and absolutely loved it. The wait staff was attentive without hovering. The portion sizes were hearty and our meals delicious. I had the fish of the day and was absolutely amazed at what I received. It was a long and leisurely experience. We didn't feel rushed and lingered over our shared dessert. We were too full to get one each! The whole experience left me happy and warm on a cool Wednesday night. I would definitely recommend.
Cafe Paulette was a new and very nice experience for us before going to a performance at BAM. We were lucky to arrive early and obtain probably the only table where my hard-of-hearing husband could converse, since we could sit kiddie corner. This nice French Bistro has a very authentic atmosphere, great and friendly service and very good food. Excellent wine list. And bread. I had the fish of the day, halibut, which was beautifully cooked but served over a very rich mushroom mixture. My husband had the duck confit which was very good but a bit dry. The dessert profiteroles were possibly the best we have had in New York. All in all it was a fine experience and we will certainly return.
Great vibe, great food. Really like this place
Too loud but otherwise the food was excellent and the service very good.
terrific little bistro, always fun, food is always great, wonderful esprit.
Excellent dinner! Finely prepared food and fine service. Worried that the place was only half full. A real find. Hope to return soon.
Café Paulette is as close to a genuine Paris bistro as you'll find in Fort Green. It offers real charm as well as very well-prepared food.
I only gave it four stars because five are reserved for Per Se. Good food, friendly and attentive service, and pleasing surroundings. Will definitely be going back.
When everyone you interact with is French at a French restaurant, it sets the right mood - and the food delivered above expectations! Go and enjoy! (Aside: close enough to BAM, which is how I originally located this gem)
A good French restaurant to go to following a performance or film at BAM.
Great neighborhood spot in Fort Greene Brooklyn. Small cozy French Bistro restaurant with booths and tables. The entire staff is friendly and professional. There is a good wine list by the glass or bottle. Besides the wonderful service the food is excellent. I highly recommend the Endive Salad with Roquefort cheese as a starter. Two of us got it and were wee very pleased. Others oppted for the escargot and the Pâté de Campagne . They two loved their choices.
Our entrees included the duck confit, Mussels Provincial, Poulet Paillard and fish (forgot which one). We all agreed our meals were both well prepared and presented as well as delicious. Have this restaurant in the neighborhood is like having a little bit of Paris next door but without the jet lag.
This place is a perfect neighborhood spot for brunch, coffee or dinner. We like it here because it's right next to the park, and their bar next door has adorable outdoor seating.
We had a lovely family lunch. Good food and good service. Limited options for vegans, though a vegetarian has several yummy choices.
World Cup Finals !
I had Sun brunch reservation for family reunion and was thrilled with Cafe Paulette. The venue is authentically French and service, music and view of park all big pluses. The menu has broad selection of options including vegetarian choices and service is attentive; but not fussy or hurried.
We were very pleased, will return and highly recommend Cafe Paulette.
Solid local restaurant with great food and wine. Wonderful personal and efficient service.
Great food, great service. Became a bit loud as the place filled up, but before and after the dinner rush very comfortable noise level. Great neighborhood place.
Outstanding!. absolutely worth driving Two hours in traffic. . Will come again!!!
We had a great brunch at cafe Paulette. Our waitress was wonderful - attentive, warm and made our daughter’s birthday extra special. The restaurant has a relaxed vibe and the food is fresh and tasty. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience
Friendly and accommodating staff, excellent food and ample portions; very good wine selections
This was French bourgeois cuisine at its finest. Care in the preparation of things like salad dressing and the mussel broth was such as is seldom encountered these days. The service was attentive without being annoying. The price was more than reasonable.
This was our first visit. Perfect for after theater (BAM) dinner. Our waiter was charming and just the right amount of friendly. Wine by the glass was generous and the food was delicious.
Well run friendly French bistro. Nice wine selection
Bad experience. The Bloody Mary was basically a look warm tomatoes juice and the Bellini had warm prosecco. The waiter refused to get us a screwdriver IoI . The eggs Norwegian were ok, and the burger average. Will not recommend. :/
Unnecessarily large portions. And my 5 year old was served last. Food was either over cooked or under cooked.
Extremely enjoyable--the ambiance, the food, the service.
Quintessential French bistro (in Brooklyn!). Wonderful atmosphere, food and service. There is a reason why France is known for its dining. Café Paulette reminds one of this.
