Carne Mare is an Italian chophouse by Chef Andrew Carmellini offering prime cuts of steaks, fine seafood, and Italian specialties. The menu by Chef Carmellini and Chef della Cucina Emma Glasrud begins with fine seafood, cocktails, oysters, traditional antipasti, salads and carpaccio. Entrées include housemade pastas, seafood and, of course, the main attraction: prime-aged beef, wagyu and prime rib, served with a selection of steakhouse contorni.

I was looking for a new place to celebrate our 43 anniversary. Online, the restaurant looked quiet / romantic. Unfortunately, I did not take into account the nature of the crowd frequenting the Gulch. Lot's of folks in shorts at the restaurant despite a $70 price tag for the Dover Sole. Not that's there is anything wrong with shorts but a big dude in shorts deducts from the ambience of the romantic dinner. There were but 2 of us wearing a dinner jacket (well, just a sports coat actually). Food was good but not the ambience for a romantic evening.

Caviar mozzarella sticks. That’s the review. But seriously — this was one of the best first-time dining experiences we’ve had in a while. Those mozz sticks blew our minds. Crispy, melty, and then that hit of salty caviar? We were both stunned. Like… who knew?! Everything else was incredible too — strong espresso martini (chef’s kiss), garlicky knots we couldn’t stop eating, and a spicy lobster pasta that came loaded with meat and sweet heat. Our server was amazing — attentive, kind, and made the whole night feel like an experience. Already dreaming of round two.

They ran out of filet for our 6:45 reservation and did not substitute cost for anything. Menu didn’t have many choices and the lamb tasted gamie at best.. bread was the best part. For the price we were not impressed

Our server was outstanding! He was so knowledgeable about the menu and gave great recommendations. The mozzarella sticks with caviar were a fun and tasty treat, and we really enjoyed the Dover sole and the lobster tail. Great anniversary dinner spot for sure!

Great flavor on the prime rib, the PR tasted great but was tough to cut correctly. The meat quality didn’t seem the best. Overall a good meal.

Great place, great service. Appetizers and desserts were amazing. I was disappointed in my principal plate , the Prime Rib. It came out cold and the accompanying sauce was too heavy and salty.

They weren’t very accommodating. Stuffed a large group for a business dinner at a small table and did not come around very often to check on us. The food was amazing though, kudos to the chef!
