   Came here a couple of years ago to celebrate my husband's birthday, and we had a spectacular dinner. Brought my best friend here this week for dinner, and wow--what a disappointment. The place was maybe 30% full...and it took f o r e v e r for our food to come. Our waiter was happily shuttling food and plates back and forth to everyone around us....and we just sat and sat and sat and sat. When our food *did* come, it had absolutely no flavor. I ordered pork belly and grits with shrimp. There was no flavor. I ate half and took home the rest...and then just threw it away. Ordered a tart for dessert that had a rubbery disc of what they said was going to be meringue. Ugh. No worries about ever coming back, though!

   The service was terrible. Two brunch plates were delivered about 10 minutes after the first three. Coffee sat in our cups getting cold. Could not even ask for hot coffee because waiter (new?) was not visible. Slow to get seated. Slow to have orders taken. Slow to have ordered brought to table. Slow to get check. Food was good.

   Went to Trellis with my husband for Valentine’s Day. It was busy. The evening and experience started off well, but degraded quickly. Our neighbor’s food arrived even though we ordered before they did. Then their entre arrived and we still hadn’t gotten or starter. The waitress did her best to apologize but clearly the kitchen was just off. When we received our food it was cold. After bringing our entres we were informed that they were out of beans and the side dish we ordered was unavailable. Beware. Great potential but lacks execution.

   Trellis has a new chef and management. Not sure I like the change. My fave brunch Item was not on the menu any longer. We took some friends who had not been before to Yrellis. The jury is still out on whether I return.

   1st they claimed that we didn't have a reservation when a friend dropped by a bottle of wine to decant. Open table said that we did but still when we got there they claimed no reservation. This used to be a very good place it is completely different and the food horrible. There was no one in the restaurant which should have been telling. I ordered the shrimp and grits and it was served with a sauce that was ketchup - My husbands salad was very odd. cold beets, poor quality burrata......... They sent our waiter home mid ordering and a "supervisor" took over. The Heathman needs to lease this spot to a real restaurant.

    I'd say Trellis is still very pleasant and the food still good. The risotto I had was not as good as it once was, very peppery and glutinous on the night we went.

    I usually try to give places the benefit of the doubt, but I've been to Trellis twice now and find it to be one of the most over rated places I've been to. To be fair, I haven't been there for dinner, so maybe that experience is different. I've been there for the happy hour between lunch and dinner, and I've been there for a new years day brunch. For both occasions, the menu was very limited, the food was mediocre at best, the service was very slow and the servers didn't seem very lively or to be happy about working there, or maybe not happy about having people to wait on. Considering what they charge for food, I would expect much better quality. I got the steak & eggs for brunch, and the steak was terrible. I think it was a very cheap cut of meat, but with the way they cut it into odd shaped chunks, I couldn't tell what type of steak it was. The flavor and texture of it was just very unpleasant. I've had better quality meat for steak & eggs at much lower end restaurants. I will say the potatoes that come with the meal are great. Perfect amount of crunch on the outside.

    Trellis was our “go to” for a special night out. It has, however, seemingly slipped over time. The light fixture by our table was broken, the menu holders were obviously past retirement and our table itself was warped (not intentionally). Our dessert had meringue on it, which was not only burnt, but did not taste fresh. The starters and main meals were pretty good, though there were no “flavor blasts” and groans of enjoyment we have come to expect. Hope someone gives Trellis some TLC soon.

    Love that we could eat "outside" in the rainy winter and enjoy the holiday ambience. Food was excellent, service was great, definitely recommend it. If no street parking, parking at the Library is usually available (and free).

    I recommend the Heathman and Trellis to many many customers. But... Christmas dinner was such a disappointment. Granted, it was a late meal- 7:30- but they we sold out of several items on the menu. I asked for bread and our waitress (who was sweet) informed us that they were out of bread. So... my son got the last serving of Prime Rib- it was mostly fat. My husband ordered the chicken and said it was overcooked and lacked flavor. I got the rib-eye- it was overcooked and chewy. No one asked how our food was- I think they knew... Drinks were very good. Our bill was $160.00 and, since it was Christmas, we left a very generous tip. We we just so sad that our food wasn't good.

Wouldn’t bother to go back - sad because it was Christmas Day and the reason to dine out was to remove stress and instead Trellis created some

    I made the reservation online for my birthday with friends. The food was good, but the service was a little lacking. She didn’t come by very often, and we had to ask for water refills. She seems preoccupied but the restaurant was near empty. I would recommend taking the champagne bucket away from the table after tables pay. We had to move it ourselves to let part of the part out from their seats. Would I go again. Yes. The food was pretty delicious.. the potatoes and squash with that ribeye 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼. Would it be my first recommendations to friends from out of town.. probably not. I’ll have to come back again to see how the service usually is.

    Definitely not worth the price. The appetizers were bad. The steaks was poor. Fish nothing to write home about. And they charge like a 4 or 5 star restaurant.

    This was out fun Christmas party. We were a party of 14 with a reservation date at least 90 days prior. We totally enjoyed the meal the only minus is our meals were not served remotely at once. We let those served meals first eat while it was hot. One of our staff had to wait for his meal until after everyone else was served,or done compy. Kind of awkward.

    My friend and I love the environment. It is quiet and a beautiful restaurant. Smoked Salmon Benedict is very delicious. However, we are disappointed for the service experience and Trellis Burger. For the service experience, We are looking for our waiter all the time. There is one tableware missing and we are out of water. However, he does not show up. So we share our tableware. And, we are also waiting for him to come to our table and let him know we need more water. It is kind of sad to have this service experience at a beautiful restaurant. After we finish our meal, we order a Trellis Burger to go, it is burnt, it taste so bitterness. When we order, We tell our waiter, we want it medium well, no pain in the middle and please make sure do not over cook and no burnt. Our waiter tell us do not worry, it will not be happen. They will not overcook. The Burger will be taste. However, the truth is THEY OVERCOOK THE BURGER AND IT TASTE SO SO SO SO BITTERNESS. The Burger is not value because it cannot be eaten. Ever though we got some worst experience, we will still recommend people to go to Trellis for a brunch. The Smoked Salmon Benedict is very delicious and the environment is so romantic. We love it. So we plan to try the afternoon tea at Trellis next time. 😊

    Thanksgiving Buffet: 4:15pm reservation pros: open on holiday!, excellent food, energetic waitress, nice desert table, reservations cons: we had to spend 10 minutes to find a hostess to seat us, when we went to get our food their was zero turkey, stuffing, mussels, and a few other items. we sat at our table and waited 10 minutes to get turkey, but still no stuffing or mussels, they arrived 5 minutes later. the rolls were cold. also, more detail on what was in the food would have been nice. my wife is jewish and does not eat pork. we had to ask about each side dish. overall a success

    We came here for Thanksgiving dinner rather than cooking for two. The selection on the buffet was good with all the traditional items. The food was very tasty with great ham and turkey. The 5-star rating is because they took extra effort to ensure that gluten free items were marked. A few didn't get marked, but the line attendant cheerfully offered to confirm with the chef, yes, the mashed potatoes are gluten free. I had also mentioned that none of the desserts were marked. When I came back for that round he had not only found out what was gluten free to let me know, but also a tag had been added to that item, a chocolate torte. Service and food were great. I look forward to coming back on a non-holiday. But I also have a solid plan next holiday the two of us are home alone.

    For special Thanksgiving meal, food was ordinary, set up was disorganized and late, seating was late and space around table was crowded. Service was not smooth. Last year things were, by contrast, superb. Disappointed.

    Great table in the back away from the bar and noise. I was impressed that they recalled that I said it was my friend’s birthday and brought her a dessert at the end. The service was impeccable. Attentive without being intrusive. The food was outstanding. The parsnip soup, Brussels sprouts, beat salad. Fantastic. The broth on the clams was great. The risotto was fine., average but good. Will come back here again. It was a great dining experience!

    Had dinner with friends tonight during Seattle restaurant week. Have eaten here a few times and always remember it being very good, fresh and interesting menu choices. Tonight, the food was just average and the menu pretty unimaginative. My wife and I had steak and the polenta was crumbly vs creamy and kale served alongside was kind of flavorless. Friends’ meals were average - not good or bad but with so many choices for restaurants on the Eastside or Seattle not too far away, wished I’d made a different choice. Finally, service was really uneven with two to three different servers, which is fine but they were not coordinated. Timing was also off with appetizers and entrees coming at different times.

    Excellent food. All four of us were very pleased with our meals. The fried Brussels sprouts were outstanding! I felt the service was pretty slow for a slow Monday night, but not so slow as to be a problem. We had a very enjoyable evening.
