My almost $70 dish which included a an 8oz fillet and two small prawns was completely over cooked(I asked for a medium on my fillet). The dish was not edible. I had high hopes and was completely disappointed, unfortunately.

I recently dined at The Empire Steakhouse and ordered a trio of dishes: lamb chops, lobster tail, and Crab. My experience was a bit of a mixed bag, with some highlights and a few areas that left me wanting more. Starting with the lamb chops, they were definitely the biggest disappointment of the meal. I ordered medium-rare, the chops were south of medium and blue/red middle. The seasoning was lacking, in my opinion, it is a lackluster effort by the chef. The lobster dish fell a bit short of our expectations. While the presentation was appealing, the lobster meat was way overcooked. It lacked the succulence I associate with a well-prepared lobster dish. The accompanying butter helped, but it was a bit too heavy-handed with the spices, which masked the delicate sweetness of the lobster. The shell had a slight "char" and gave it a burnt aroma. The crab cakes rounded out the meal and were another disappointing option. They were cooked adequately, but a tad mushy. It seemed to lack that "wow" factor that sets apart a memorable crab cake dish. The flavors were pleasant, but nothing truly stood out. It felt like a safe choice rather than an innovative creation. At the start of the meal the service was attentive, it started to subside as the night went on. They switched waiters at the midpoint and subsequently forgot our drink order. They comped us the round and apologized. by the end of the meal we had to flag them down to get the check. The ambiance of the restaurant is a bit dated and fits the menu. It is a limited-dated menu. Reminded me of the 1980's culinary scene. In terms of value, the pricing seemed in line with a New York City Steakhouse, on the higher side of an entre, but for the quality of ingredients used it was overpriced. I have experienced many fine-dining restaurants and know good food unfortunately, this fell short. In summary, my experience at Empire Steakhouse was a bit of a mixed bag. Not a do-over in my travels to the city.

Albert the GM fantastic gentleman and encourage you to visit. Great host. The bar staff Nantia and Marianna are top notch and serve food flawlessly. And the best drinks get the old fashion and maybe a martini or 2. You just need meet them. Thomas is great too. Hard working. Our first waiter didn’t greet us. Seemed kind of rude when taking our orders. Didn’t ask us for our drinks. We had to flag another server down and ask him for drinks and he then took over as our new server, which made everything better. He was great at his job, good energy, very helpful and professional.

What a wonderful dinner. We ate at Empire for restaurant week and the food and service were outstanding. The restaurant was beautiful. The tomahawk steak was outstanding. The steak was perfectly cooked. I paired it with a nice bottles of LA Crema pinonoir. For an appetizer, I had oysters along with one of the best French onion soups. The service was extraordinary. If your in the mood for steak I strongly recommend Empire Steakhouse.

We had a great time! The oysters were exceptional (and we’re from Boston). Stick with the appetizers. The portions are generous. I had the seared tuna and it was definitely a meal in itself. My husband had the appetizer platter and was equally impressed. Service was first rate. Our only complaint was that the music was rather raucous and definitely did not suit the tenor of the menu ($100+ steaks) or the ambiance of the decor.

Paid a lot of money for a mediocre filet that was overcooked. Even the chocolate mousse cake was just so so. I made the reservation same day when I couldn't get into my first and second choices. Best to book early.

We were sat on the sidewalk while the restaurant was empty. The food was covered in cheese to hide the chicken and we had to use a knife to cut the lobster. If you want a lackluster hotel restaurant pretending to be an upscale place and want the car fumes, marijuana smoke and hotel guests going in and out. Then this overpriced Olive Garden is for you

The bone in Rib-eye, grilled octopus, wedge salad was great. Like the midtown location which was great if you want a steak dinner after afternoon play. Great service . Will come back when We’re in NYC.

On May 18, 2023, I booked a 10:45 pm reservation via Opentable for a party of 5 at the Empire Steak House West on 54th Street (Hilton Garden Inn New York/Central Park South-Midtown West). It felt fitting, since we were leaving the night time viewing a the the Empire State Building. Due to traffic we arrived at 10:50pm. Although the restaurant closes at 11:00pm, they still sat our party. We had the dining room to ourselves and the entire dining room staff catered to our every need. We felt like VIPs. The service was impeccable, attentive and put a special touch on what had already been a wonderful day in the City. We ordered and shared family style the Empire’s Hot Platter, Empire Crab Cakes, Filet Mignon, Lobster Ravioli, Steak Fries, Fried Onion Rings, Creamed Spinach, NY Apple Crumb cake, Chocolate Lava Cake, Lavender Crème Brûlée, and Ice cream. Everyone enjoyed the dishes, but by far the Filet Mignon and the Empire Crab Cakes were the stars of the show. The Filet was cooked perfectly and had just the right about of sea salt. It comes with a peppercorn sauce on the side, which enhances the taste of the steak, but the steak was delicious without it too. This dining experience was very close to the level of service that I have received at Le Cirque in Las Vegas. I never imagined that a restaurant in a hotel could provide that level of service and fine dining. The Maitre d even provided me with two gifts. I highly recommend that you dine here if you are looking for an exceptional steak house dining experience while in Manhattan.

Very pleasant dinner again. The staff remembered me from my last visit. I travel from CT for this steakhouse and it is better than some of the steakhouses living off their name and reputation. My favorite steakhouse. I will be back soon.

The Food was great. The Wine Selection great. The Staff was fantastic. I now will attend this restaurant every time I am in New York My date and had only one request. The music selection did not match the environment. We both though it should be more relaxing. Jazz, Blues or Classical I am going to recommend this Steakhouse to everyone I know.

The food was delicious and the service excellent. It would have been a better experience if bringing down the noise level was possible. The cheesecake, by the way, had a yummy crust and was a lovely way to end this meal.
