   The Evening was Perfection! Lovely, attentive staff. Beef melted in my mouth. My red cabernet franc was transcendent. Will return for sure... thank you, Bar Room!

   Went here for a date and we had a great time. Our servers were attentive without being overbearing, made excellent recommendations and were fun. The back room (atrium) is beautiful. It was night while the sun was up, and as the sun slowly set the candles on the tables made it unite romantic. Helped that there weren’t a ton of people in that section. Side benefit, it was great to be able to quickly sneak into the bar to check sports scores too!

   They need to improve their service. It was lunchtime and the place was pretty full,. I only saw two servers trying to feed the whole restaurant. And those two servers were frequently standing around and not offering us service. We waited quite a while to get somebody’s attention to refill our water glasses or get a something else we needed. They didn’t even offer us coffee with dessert, and when we ordered it we had to wait for a new pot. Despite that I still would try it again because I like the atmosphere and the food was tasty.

   Pleasant atmosphere, friendly attentive service, interesting tasty food, a good bar all combine to produce an enjoyable dining experience. Only issue: the noise level when restaurant fills.

   2nd time here. Vodka penne pasta very good. Chicken good too. We asked for a quiet table and were given the best for that, which we appreciated. Friendly good service!

    This was my second time at The Bar Room for brunch. The location of our table was perfect (in the middle, right under the skylight). There was barely any noise as the restaurant was still quite empty at 11:30 AM, which was great for conversation. Food and our Bellini Carafe were great, and priced well considering the area. The service was fine--not exceptional, but not bad. I'll definitely come back again.

    We've been many times before, but have not found it so busy and noisy. Until the crowd thinned out it was difficult to converse with old friends from out of town. That said, the food was excellent, the staff, from the receptionist to the waitress, were friendly and professional. The decor and ambience is unique and attractive. I know the atmosphere is supposed to be lively, but a bit of acoustic treatment would go a long way for comfort.

    Happy Hour from 4-6 pm. Good selection of drinks for $10. The chicken liver pate, taco salad, and the French dip sandwich were amazing.

    I ordered the chicken paillard for lunch and it was cooked perfectly. The ambiance was quite upbeat and lively. Most importantly, I was greeted at the front desk by Anna, who also ended up being our server. Anna was friendly, professional and extremely attentive. I will certainly be going back for lunch very soon.

    We reserved a table for 4 on a Sunday afternoon for a quick bite after a show at the FIAF. Entering the bar, one gets a sense of being in Paris at one of their typical french eateries. Wood, leather, cafe chairs and tables. Warm and inviting. The wait staff attentive and professional. Everyone enjoyed their meal -warm Kale salad was perfect and meatballs got rave reviews! We could not resist an order of fries for the table, and they did not disappoint. We plan to go back, whenever we find ourselves in that area again.

    The brussel sprouts are absolutely addictive! They have a Thai chili style sauce on them and it’s a generous portion. The French dip is overpriced and the fondue sauce is messy. Decent burger and excellent French onion soup.

    a great place before 59 e. 59 and when it isn't too noisy, it's even better. tried the crispy brussels sprouts for the first time and it will be on our list from now on.

    We keep coming back because this place is very welcoming from the time you enter. Food is very good, service is excellent and the atmosphere is very left bank . Everyone is accommodating and there is no pressure to exit quickly after the meal.

    Really liked this place. We needed a table in a quiet area and hostesses gave us a good table in the back. Very helpful or we wouldn’t have been able to stay. Conor our server was great. He told us about the happy hour till six, which I appreciated. Loved the vodka penna. The sauce is toward the bottom of plate, under the pasta, if you’re wondering why it’s a little dry. My friend enjoyed her burger. Bread was good. I will definitely be back. Very pleasant evening.

    The food and drinks here are always very well done. The pork buns are to die for as was the Buffalo cauliflower. Our waitress was lovely and could not have been more helpful and provided friendly, helpful service. I never like to be negative about people, but the woman who was the hostess when we were there on Friday could not have been more unfriendly if she tried. When we arrived--15 minutes early--which I stated when we came up to her stand, she said "Well, your just going to have wait." I asked how long, and she responded, "until they are done, might be 5 minutes, might be longer." So, we stood off to the side until the table was ready, when she came up to us, and said, "follow me" led us to our table, set down the menus and turned on her heels and walked away. Unfortunately, not a favorable way to begin our experience at The Bar Room. We have been here many times, so this was just the worst experience we have had from someone there. We'll be back, but if we are treated like that again, consider us a forever gone patron.

    We always go to The Bar Room when in town. But, this time it was so loud that we could barely handle it. We wanted to talk and couldn’t hear each other across the table. Even when the bar emptied a bit and the dining room was full it was still too loud. Some sound absorbing material would help the situation. We left to get coffee elsewhere.

    Great bar / restaurant local to the office. Frequent for Lunch and enjoyed just as much for dinner. Moderate noise level makes conversation easy. Selection is limited, but everything is prepared very well. Portions are perfect and service was excellent.

    The place itself is beautiful, but the service needs help. I’m not the type to complain, but the service that day needs training. Waitress keep calling us pet names (can be taken as condescending). Our appetizer came with our meal. The glass she provided with drinks were smaller than the beer we ordered so we needed to refill it. They took my bottle which I believed to have some alcohol still in it. My friend brought what happened to her attention and that’s when things went south. She brought back to show me an empty bottle that could of been someone else’s empty drink and I felt attacked. The point is you check with the person before you remove an item from the table and you don’t treat the customer as a liar. I wasn’t asking for compensation on over priced beer, but a genuine apology. To be honest that experience ruined the rest of the night for my party and we didn’t enjoy the food. We just wanted to eat and leave. Thankfully we went to another establishment afterwards that turned all our frowns upside down.
