We were there Saturday. According to the waiter they were closing Sunday to "reconcept" the restaurant into something entirely different. So, not sure it's worth any kind of a review here!

So sad that we didn't get here until the Restaurant Week RIGHT before it's closing. We all enjoyed our meals and the service was great. Hope the owners open up another cool restaurant instead of putting in a chain.

Their tofu is wonderful. Tried their kimchi, vegetable noodle bowl and shrimp coconut curry. They were all delicious. Great mixed drink menu too. Cassie, our server, was very attentive, the perfect server. Will be back.

This spot is fantastic. We love getting here on a regular basis. It is fun and innovative. The menu continues to evolve in a good way with some of our favorites from the original menu still here. There are great cocktails and very fun beers on the menu too. The downtown location is perfect for those looking to see shows or have other downtown fun at the same time.

So we have been to grit and grace several times. Have always liked it. Small and cute. The bartenders are always great. Knowledgeable friendly and good service. This time out visit was the same, the bartender was great. Unfortunately the rest of our experience was poor this night. Our waitress was horrible. Very inattentive and she barely spoke. We had to ask her if we could order. She did not clear away plates or glasses when she had the opportunity. We watched her stand around in the back of the restaurant when we were in need. Never even asked about our meals. The food was pretty good as usual but We ended up very diaappointed because our main dishes were served cold. Cold ramen is not appetizing. I dont know if it was her fault or the kitchens. We will still return because the 5 other times we have been there we were pleased. Great ambiance and decor. Hope we have a different server our next visit.

Loved it! My first time here and it was a tad bit more upscale than I had expected, but still pretty casual, so no issue there. The service was great, my party was seated right away, and waited on in a very timely manner. Perhaps this was because we chose to dine there the afternoon of New Years' Eve, but I have a feeling that the service is still fantastic under pressure. We had originally intended to go for noodles, but both of us wound up finding their rice dishes catching our eyes. The food came out in a pretty timely manner, long enough for us to hold a conversation, but definitely much quicker than expected. Our dishes both were phenomenal. The plating was very well done, even though I didn't take much time to look at it. Both of our rice dishes smelled and tasted incredible, and though I am not one that is usually adventurous in my appetites, I will happily be returning to G&G to sample as much on their menu as possible.

Grit & Grace was a new discovery made possible via OpenTable... it was fantastic! It's a great combination of everything we like: creative cuisine, lots of flavor, amazing cocktails and a well-designed restaurant. The service was excellent and I would definitely recommend and return in the future. It's not your typical Ramon Noodle, or Ameri-Chinese, or sushi restaurant. At first the variety seemed unusual, but it really worked and I think the wonderfully savory flavors pulled it all together beautifully. As a San Francisco resident, I'm spoiled with variety, but I can tell you Pittsburgh has A LOT going on for it and this is a great Foodie town! I'd return to Pittsburgh and Grit & Grace in a heartbeat! Keep up the creativity!

Overpriced for the quality of food. Delivered wrong wings, chicken undercooked- at $2/wing I expected a lot more. Entrees were underwhelming.

As usual, excellent dining experience at G&G! Staff is knowledgeable and friendly, so quick with refills and making sure everything is going well. Try something new at each visit and always met with an explosion of flavors and creativity! Can't wait to go back!

The food is very good. The flat noodles can be a bit on the al dente side, but I actually like that. The waitress was very informative regarding how much food each dish would have in it. It's usually not busy here on a weeknight.

Food was very good but the OpenTable menu is completely wrong. The actual menu is very limited. The waitress was completely inattentive and it was not a busy night. Manager was very nice and apologized for the poor service we received. She, the manager definitely cares about customers. Will go back.

This place was great! Really delicious, creative dishes. I was a little disappointed in the yellowtail sashimi (I was expecting raw fish on rice), but it was just two "rollups" of fish. Still very delicious, but not work $10 in my opinion. They walk around with different varieties of dim sum that looked delicious for $5 a piece - I think that's more worth the value. Overall, I would definitely go back!

The food was outstanding. We had one sushi order, the pork fried rice, and flank steak with noodles dish. The autumn martini was delicious and exactly as our server described. We will definitely return. The only downside was the noise level around us. It was hard to converse. The back room where we sat is small with a low ceiling so the nearby loud conversations competed with our voices. Unfortunately we were eager to leave rather than linger because of it. But we will return with a request for a different seating location.

Delicious wine selection was a pleasant surprise bc G&G is known more for its cocktails. Our server was friendly & helpful- they even had a menu marked up for gluten-free accommodations, that you can ask for! Very pleasurable experience.

During my brief stay in Downtown Pittsburgh i stubbled across this little gem. I looked over the menu and made a reservation for later in the day. I got a table by the window, which was great for people watching, and quickly ordered a delicious IPA on draft. After viewing the menu I was a little disappointed to not see the pork belly appetizer. My waitress informed me that it was only on the dinner menu. She said she would check and see if they could make it. To my surprise they were able to make a special order for me. And let me tell you it was delicious! I would go back just for that dish alone. I would highly recommend stopping by this great little restaurant if your downtown.

The food was, as always, quite good. I was disappointed that even though I had made a reservation a week prior the hostess did not seem prepared to provide a table, even though there were quite a few available. Next time I will be more specific. My drink, a common whiskey sour, was not good but the green tea crème brulee was amazing!

My friend and I enjoyed eating at the bar, sharing pot stickers, tuna and seaweed salad, and sushi, plus a green tea pot de crème. Everything was delicious and we enjoyed the friendly, elegant yet low-key atmosphere.

The food was simply not good - especially considering the reputation of the place and the price of the food. Our bill was $100 for a very unsatisfying experience. It felt like our food was prepared by the B-team who didn't really know what they were doing.

Perfect pre-show stop in the Cultural District. So delicious and friendly. Sampled G&G sushi roll, General Tso cauliflower, dumplings... All terrific. And gave us complimentary drinks for our anniversary. Love them.

Food was good, service was awful. I was there with a party of 6 on a Saturday evening at 8pm. It wasn't that crowded, but the service was very bad. There were numerous mistakes on several orders (including forgetting to put in one entree all together). We were told that it was very busy and that mistakes happen. I guess that is true and they were nice enough to take the mistaken items off the final bill. But overall, the experience made for a negative first time visit.

G & G is good, not great. I had the szechuan chicken the first time, the chicken in the dish seemed of low quality, maybe tasted "old", but the flavor of the rest of the dish was perfect. The general tso cauliflower is amazing, I could eat that all day. I got the bulgogi wraps this time, they were great, my friend got the vegetarian noodle bowl and described the tofu as "gross". So it was a mixed experience. I have been there twice, I would go with friends if they planned it, but would not suggest it again. The servers are friendly and attentive.

The food was not worth the $16-$18 you pay for a lunch entree. Also, they waitress asked us to write down our credit card information as their machine was down. That in my eyes was unacceptable!
