Lokal - Wicker Park
This European-flecked neighborhood restaurant gets the urban vibe going with its stylish interior dressed in square tables, white molded chairs, and large canvases of modern art. The lounge area hosts guest DJs who pump up the volume when the lights go down, augmenting the retro feel. At Lokal - Wicker Park, lunch and dinner offer wholly different experiences, but each is worthy on its own. Brunches include: Duck Confit Benedict, Braised Pork Belly, French Omelets; while the dinner menu is more complex (showcasing the likes of NY Steak with truffle fries and apple slaw, Pork Tenderloin with potato pancake and mushroom cream or Goat Cheese Risotto with confit tomatoes, sweet peas and butternuts squash) . Lokal - Wicker Park is lauded for its fresh, first-rate ingredients often supplied by local farmers including Gunthrrop Farm, Nichols Farm, AquaTerra Farms and others.

Service is great and food is fresh! The energy in the place is amazing. Bottomless mimosa's are a must!
HORRIBLE wait staff. I made a reservation for 11:30, and after over 30 minutes of STILL awaiting, my party and I had to leave. We kept telling the hostess about our reservation, and she was rude and inattentive. She knew my large party was waiting and instead just kept walking past us to seat other people and would avoid eye contact. How can you make a reservation almost a week before the date for a large party and not have the space available? Rude, lazy & no care for customers. Also, the music was mind-numbingly loud. Go to the Lincoln Park location if you must, but honestly, after my experience with wicker, I don’t want to give this franchise any of my money.
Had such a fun and great time. It was my first time here so when I walked into the restaurant and was hit with very loud music I already knew it felt like a good time. Our server was the best and friendly person. Even though it was super loud you were still able to enjoy your time.
Made reservation for 9am, walked in (door unlocked?) and the guy at the front said they’re closed and they may not open today, and if they do it might be at 10am. Ridiculous
Atmosphere is fun and energetic with a mix of popular music. Food is good. Service is slow but everyone is very nice
Great environment and the food is delicious! I have a blast every time I visit.
Crowded and fairly small compared to how popular it is. Still great music and great overall energy and vibe.
we had to wait an hour for our table even though we had a reservation
My fiance and I loved the bottomless bloody mary brunch option. $15 each is a great deal! We're from Wisconsin, so if we go again we wanna try the bottomless mimosas or champagne. With the drinks and our meal we each spent around $35-40 (with tip). The location doesn't look like a restaurant from the outside but the inside is very modern looking and fun. If you plan on going for brunch it's definitely best to make a reservation since seating is limited. 10/10 would recommend!
I've come here a few times with a reservation and always have to wait at least 20 minutes or so for a table. I get it, since its unlimited mimosas but its frustrating. I always end up with the same server though, and she is great. I'm not sure what her name is. We went there last weekend and it was beyond loud and there were huge parties that were dancing everywhere so you couldn't even get to the bathroom. Staff-wise and price-wise I love this place, everything else I'm not a huge fan of.
Hostesses were rude and unprofessional.
Wait time, even with a reservation, is a bit heavy. However, staff is very friendly.
Made reservations but waited 30 minutes before being seated! The food was delicious and love the music.
super loud music during brunch. go here if you want to feel like you never left the club last night - in a bad way.
Way way loud for a Sunday brunch.
I love this place! Great food and great music!
Went for the Saturday brunch. Excellent bottomless mimosas! The service was good and our waiter was attentive. The food was delicious and the portions were plentiful. We liked the music; however, the only concern was the sound level. When asked, we were told they have a “loud & boozy” bunch. We were a little older than the average age there, and it was very difficult to have a conversation. At one point, we texted each other to communicate. Overall, it was great and I’d return but not for brunch.
Not sure if I should even be leaving a review because we didn't eat. Met a friend here for brunch and ended up leaving because the music was so loud we couldn't hear each other or the server. It was a little intense for 11am. I wouldn't recommend this place for brunch.
I always have a wonderful time here for brunch. Only down side is when you book a reservation and still have to wait 20minutes when you arrive. It defeats the purpose.
Way too loud, couldn’t even talk to the other people at my table. Good food though! Just club level loud music
Restaurant was empty when we arrived for our reservation but we were still not seated right away. One of our five people hadn’t arrived yet. I do understand this policy when restaurants are busy, but there were only two other customers in the entire place. Additionally, our order was wrong and our wait service was inattentive.
waiter delivered terrible customer service and when we asked for a manager she told us she was the manager. However, after asking the other waiter she called the "real manager" to speak with us.
Our appetizer came out the same time as the food and after that we did not need it. It took over 15 min for the waiter to come and when she did we asked if she was our waiter, her response was "I guess so". She also did not want to bring our second pitcher of mimosas because she said it had been 90 min, however, it took 20-25 min for us to even order the food or the mimosas. Also, we wanted to order the second pitcher soon than we did but it took us forever to find her because she did not follow up with us through our dining time.
Terrible service, I do not know the waiter's name but she her hairstyle was a bun on top with long weave in the back. The real manager was friendly.
I had dined here multiple times before and thought that this time would be better with a reservation. However, even though my reservation was at 1:45pm and we arrived at 1:20pm in case there was availability earlier, we didn't get seated until 2:45pm. The place was so loud that we couldn't even hear each other talk. Alot of our food orders were messed up too, and just overall wasn't great. The menu prices were higher than the prices on the website as well. There's really no point of making a reservation, because their reservation system is a first come first serve (as long as everyone in the party is present) - no matter if you made a reservation through opentable or not.
Too small of a venue to accept reservations. Didn’t honor anyone’s reservation. Was sat an hour after scheduled timing with slow service, likely because included gratuity.
The food was SO good and they give you a carafe of bottomless mimosas which is nice, but there’s a lot of orange juice so next time I’ll probably pay $3 more to do bottomless champagne.
Had an 11:30 reservation and wasn’t seated until 12:30. It’s a great value but wouldn’t go back. Felt unorganized.
music was too loud to even hear the server, no ac on an above average hot day (upper 80s)
I went there to meet my friend and they were not open, so we went up the street.
Had reservations and couldn’t get in. Line was out the door and even with reservations, we were considered with the people outside.
Great setting... music is super loud so its hard to hear your friends talking. Unlimited mimosas were a hit. Great spot for brunch with friends if you can beat the sunday crowd. Make sure to make reservations.
We were delivered another tables order and after 5 minutes we finally caught the waitresses attention and alerted her to the mistake. She and the manager then proceeded to pick up the lukewarm plates and redeliver them to the correct party. This was unsettling to see, as it made me question if my food was fresh. I won't be returning to this restaurant.
I had to wait almost an hour after my reservation for a party of 10, due to them being small and crowded. Overall, we had a blast. The food and drinks were awesome. Music on point!!
The wait can be a bit long but its still a really fun place.
We had a reservation at 9:00 am on Saturday but when we showed up, they said they weren’t going to open until around 9:30. I don’t understand how a restaurant takes reservations for times they won’t be open, even though they should have been open according to all sources. It was embarrassing to show up with friends from out of town and not be able to eat at the spot of our choice.
I might have a different review if I visited at night, but for a Sunday brunch it was loud AF. Sorry if I'm stereotyping but no one in the restaurant looked the type to enjoy the style of music being played. And I don't think they had air conditioning. Absolutely couldn't wait to get out of there. The only silver lining was the quantity of food for the price, and the Nutella Frittes were in fact awesome. But not enough to outweigh the overall experience. No plans to ever go back for brunch.
If you’re doing weekend brunch, it’s fun but be ready for loud music and be ready to shake your shoulders a bit
I had a reservation and when I got there it was still a 45 minute wait so our group left. Very disappointing.
Great bottomless brunch. Would recommend the steak & eggs
It was a CardiParty in both the bar and my mouth!!
Our server was amazing but the restaurant had no air conditioning or it wasn't working so the entire 3hrs we were there we were sweating. My shirt was wet. Our waiter was sweating too. He did bring a pitcher of water and tons of champagne. I have been to Lokal plenty of times and the music and food is great but this time I was miserable because of no air.
