Ordered a mocktail and it was served in a kids cup. Pretty infantilizing for an adult to receive during a business meeting. Some of us adults aren't able to drink alcohol because of medical conditions. I cannot imagine how it would feel for someone in recovery to receive this kind of treatment either. I also don't find any of their menu to be allergen friendly. It's already limited during lunch and to tell us that only 2 of the sandwiches on the menu are available is even worse.

Perhaps I am used to the bowls at Life Alive, but the veggie bowl at Commonwealth was not even as close to as good and it was more expensive. It also got noisy as soon as the lunchtime crowd appeared. I think this might be a fine bar but a second rate lunch spot.

Service was below average, with an ordered gluten-free salad showing up with standard croutons, wine having to be ordered twice, or check showing up instead of dessert menu (which helped shorten the experience in some way). Cocktails are excellent, food is above average (very good fried calamari or NY Sirloin, good scampi pasta). Venue can be noisy when parties of 8+ are enjoying it.

OK place for lunch especially if seated outside - but food is a bit disappointing compared to years past....it is all very greasy, unhealthy food. Portions much too big and difficult to find items that are not "bad" for you. E.g. I used to like their salmon patty which used to be mostly salmon - now it is mostly bread mush with a hint of salmon....I wish they would offer smaller portions but higher quality....Reasons to go there is that service is friendly and fast and especially outside seating in good weather is delightful.

We have this bald server who is really rude. We didn’t ask for our check and he gave us our check. When we told him that we still need to order tea before check, he rolled his eyes… Even when we asked for our check after our tea, he was very impatient. Food was average, but expensive. The only good part is the environment.

Commonwealth used to be one of my favorite 'go-to-places' in Kendall Square. I recognize that many restaurants are struggling to come back after the long Covid shut-down, but sadly the food we had 2 days ago was very marginal. One of my favorite items I always enjoyed (salmon cakes) was just a burnt mush of breadcrumbs with no salmon to be spotted...Commonwealth seems to have become a greasy spoon of sorts with few or no reasonably healthy options....I will give it another try and hope they will adjust their menu.....

I was very disappointed with Commonwealth. The prices have increased drastically and the quality of the food and the setting has not. My sirloin steak ($39) that I ordered medium came out very rare and had to be sent back. Two friend that ordered hamburgers ($25) weren't pleased with the quality. For example, the buns were cold as if they just came out of a refrigerator. Cocktails were slightly larger in volume than thimbles. We won't be going back.

Commonwealth is a type of neighborhood bar and restaurant and that feels comfortable, welcoming, and fun. The food is very good with a variety that goes from above average Americana to neat twists on surprising classics. All in all, Commonwealth is just a great pace to grab or drink and some apps or a full on dinner. Highly recommend.

Service was phenomenal! The prices are high and the selection is limited, but the food is good quality. This is a great spot for an after work hang with colleagues, but there are definitely places that have cheaper prices for equivalent caliber food. All in all, would go back again probably!
