   Seveche was incredible and so was the pan roasted calamari with mushrooms. The entree of pan seared rock fish was cooked well but lacked imagination, it needed something to take it to the next level. Dessert of eggless custard, coconut and pineapple was a dream delivered on all fronts ,

   Amazing restaurant. We found this restaurant through open table. Every time we visit DC is a must to eat here. Best Latin restaurant ever. Wish they would have one in NY or south jersey even Philly. Highly recommend it.

   I'll keep this short. I took a friend to Mio for her birthday. The food was all very good, we had: tostones (fried plantains), arepitas (cheese filled savory fried dough) with black beans and slaw, salmon, and pork tenderloin. And for dessert we had Puerto Rican coffee (delicious!) and guava cheesecake (also delicious!). The service was amazing and they were even nice enough to take a few pictures for us to commemorate the evening. Definitely would recommend anyone visit Mio for a simple, elegant, and well-seasoned dining experience!

   would not recommed. reservation with open table at 8:30pm, Mio's hostest advised 9pm on her system hasd towait an extra 30mins or so. food not that great from what i have expected from a friends recommendation. i will not go back or refer to any friends or mines Regards,.

    I got to know Mio when I worked a block away, and it's now one of my go-to business lunch places. They also have a marvelous happy hour. There is a warm and fun Latino vibe, which is enjoyable no matter your background or heritage. The food is superb and always fresh. This is a hidden gem in the otherwise ho-hum options around McPherson Square.

    Nice ambience--Lots of big tables with big parties. Recommend: ceviche; yucca and or tostones. The arepitas sounded better than they were. For mains we had nightly special of halibut--very nicely cooked & presented with lentils--But, would recommend the Puerto Rican Seafood Stew--It was yummy! The service was very friendly but very slow--because we had theater tickets we had to forgo coffee and dessert.

    Booked our anniversary dinner here because we spent our honeymoon in Puerto Rico. The food was awesome! Service was fine, except we had trouble getting the check because our waiter was also being the bartender. Also, because I made the reservation well in advance, and we had an early dining time when it's not crowded, AND told them it was our anniversary, I had hoped to be offered a more private table. As it was we were seated in the busier central section near the open kitchen. Guess we should have spoken up. But we'll be back, because the food really is terrific and is something rather unique for DC.

    The duck breast was delicious. The bar was hopping and the atmosphere was nice. Some of my friend's pork tenderloin was overcooked. The service was inattentive.

    Waiter imposed his taste and would respond to every word you'd say before you finish saying it. We ordered two of the same entree; one was extremely salty and the other was not seasoned.

    Met a friend for lunch. It was our first time at Mio. The food was delicious. However our server was awful. He would not come to our table unless we got his attention; a couple of times the hostess had to draw his attention to us and then a couple of other servers helped us when he did not come. It was comical. I would come back but ask for a different server if the same person was serving me again.

    I had the alcapurrias and the trifongo and it was so good. The lasagna wasn't the best because of these sauce. Service seems lost. Employees all over the place but food compensate for service.

    First time here, and what a terrific find. Everything we had was exceptional. Great flavors, well-presented. A little pricey for a "regular" lunch, so this will be more for special occasions or dinner. Also, the decor and ambiance are eclectic and comfortable.

    We were excited to check out this restaurant as we are big fans of Puero Rican food. The menu was good b ut not completely authentic. Looks like they had a few typical dishes and then added some other "americanized" items. Overall, looks like an upscale version of Puerto Rican food. The Mofongo, however was a BIG HIT. It's made table-side and absolutely delicious. We opted for the green and sweet plantain combination. And although we've never seen this combination in Puerto Rico, it was fantasctic - Highly recommend it.

    I have been to Mio a few times now as it is really close to my office. I had a business lunch and decided to choose Mio. I enjoyed my lunch so much that I had to go again the next day to eat the exact same thing. The service was great the food delicious, and I would easily recommend this restaurant.

    The staff needs to realize that being attentive to customers is important I should not look for you in order to get the check. Should not have to wait so long for dessert menu that resulted in me not wanting dessert. Food was good but the service was so bad that I may not return. They just stood around talking to one another.

    We let the server, who was extremely pleasant and helpful, recommend our dishes. The calamari and the octopus appetizers were excellent, and the main dishes (a seafood stew in tomato broth, and a duck dish) were incredible. The bread pudding dessert was so-so, but it did not take anything away from an outstanding meal.

    I have been to Mio 4 or 5 times and have enjoyed it each time. I took a friend from Phoenix who is frequently in DC and she said it would be her new "go to" place. Pork tenderloin was fabulous as was the special salad. The service from the host and the server was friendly and efficient.

    We had dinner with group of friends on a Saturday night. Well crafted interesting drinks at the bar before dinner. Dinner was a great experience. The service was impeccable. The food was fresh and delicious. The table side made from scratch Mofongo preparation was awesome. Great modern twist on Puerto Rican cuisine maintaining lots of traditional elements and flavors. The owner Manuel Iguina was a great host throughout the evening. Fantastic restaurant!

    We went to Mio to celebrate Mother's Day! I had the best Mother's Day dinner I could possibly ask for. I was born and raise in Puerto Rico, so to me, the flavor of my cuisine was very important, and I have to say that Mio hit the spot. Flavors were there, they just added a good twist to it. Service was great and our hostess' dinner recommendations were just perfect. We were pleased with our appetizers, dinners choices, and drinks/juices. And the dessert, OMG, THAT WAS THE BEST DESSERT IN YEARS! we will be back soon!

    My wife and I went here with some friends for Cinco de Mayo. We chose this location mainly because of seating availability and the specialty themed menu. I found the items on the specialty menu to be well made, the entrees were presented well and the drinks were okay. Overall the food tasted good but was overpriced. I enjoyed the specialty menu items but would probably not return for the entrees.

    My wife and a friend from out of town came to dine here for dinner on Cinco de Mayo. When asked what was the difference between the "Sweet Plantains" and "Plantains" the waitress replied the sweet are "savory". The waitress left us alone for half of the night and took the check so quickly we could not ask for change. The food was okay but for the price I have had better. My duck was exquisite though.

    AGAIN WE HAD A WONDERFUL TIME. EDWIN IS A GREAT SERVER. I'M NOT INTO SEAFOOD BUT THE WAY HE DESCRIBED THE SEAFOOD DISHES SOUNDED DELICIOUS. I AM SO IN LOVE WITH MIO'S.
