A very nice experience, French onion soup was among the best I can recall having. Raw oysters of the day were nicely presented with a champagne onion relish and house made sauce. Background music is contemporary French. A dynamic place.

overall very nice experience. started with oysters on half shell which were nice, and steak tartare. the steak needed more seasoning. more capers and spices. very bland. i had the mussels and frites. the mussels were in flavorful broth, frites were just ok. don't want to suggest this was not pleasurable, just with the pricing, you wish it to be perfect. would still go back again.

What a great restaurant! Their menu offers lots of choices and each dish is delicious. Same is true of their cocktails. We’ve never been disappointed. Their patio is large and tented. They’ve paid attention to details with use of accent lights, heaters and even side flaps for rainy days and cold weather. If you choose to eat inside it is very comfortable. The bar is also great. Can’t say enough about this South End gem!

We elected patio seating - a terrific patio for dining. We started with oysters & escargots which were excellent and a cocktail. For an entree I had the Beef and my husband had the Duck. Both were very good but there was a long time between the appetizers and the entrees which tempered the appetite. But the servers were attentive - I think there was a mix up with the meals. However, all in all it was a pleasant time. Would definitely recommend this place.

Fantastic patio seating that is comfortable most of the year with their heaters and awnings. Food is great and reasonably priced. Good cocktail list and well-stocked bar and wine cellar. Free parking for a good downtown restaurant to boot.

Several dishes were excellent (Moule Frites). The Salade Marche was tasty but quite small and simple for the price. The Dine Out bluefish was tiny but delicious. However, the experience was marred by the Crepes Suzette, which were obviously pre-made and then reheated in a microwave -- they came out hard and dry, which was a disappointing end to an otherwise tasty meal.

We enjoyed the salmon tartar, beef tartar and the Lyonaisse salad although the latter is described to have duck confit but there was only a few scraps in it. The short rib bourguignon was fabulous as was the steak frites. The creme brulee for dessert was especially good.

Comfortable outdoor dining. Friendly and attentive service from host/hostess and waitstaff. The five of us selected from the various 3-course Boston Dine (Week) offerings, which were great. Oysters and blue fish were excellent. Gnocci with ratatouille was good but uneventful. Potatoes with the blue fish would have been delicious if not greatly oversalted. Enjoyed being there. Some of the food could be improved.

Brasserie is consistently delicious. The service is outstanding. The owner was there greeting people this most recent visit, which is always a nice touch. We love bringing friends and family to this restaurant. We escpecially appreciate their vegan/plant based options! Will be back soon!

We went for dine out Boston to try this restaurant and were extremely disappointed. The restaurant is well decorated and the drinks were great. However, the food was cold/tasted not fresh/frozen. Our steaks were not medium, they were rare. The dessert was also subpar. Additionally it took over an hour for us to receive our entrees.

We went to Brasserie for Restaurant week, and it was delicious. The tomato gazpacho was tasty and did not overly taste like tomato soup. The arugula salad with goat cheese was refreshing. The escargot(not on the restaurant week menu) was incredible. The steak frites was perfectly cooked and tender. The gnocchi was slightly dry, but the ratatouille was delicious with it. The profiteroles were filling and lovely as well. The server was great.

Food was excellent. Service subpar. Waiter was inattentive. Plenty of empty outside tables but a hassle to get them to agree to seat us at one. Wine arrived half way through our meal. Requested a couple of pieces of a baguette. Seemed like I was asking for a gold bar. Finally arrived most of the way through my meal. If you don't mind the service, the food is great.

We did not even get water for 45 after being seated. They brought out two very different salads on different plates with different dressings and insisted they were the same salad. My friend almost chipped a tooth on something as hard as a rock in the salad. Other food was good but we were also so hungry when we got our appetizers, since we had been there for an hour and a half already.

Went for dinner on Boston restaurant week. Ordered from a very interesting menu but the food took 40 minutes to arrive. And while the first course salad was good, the second, beefsteak and pomme frites was mediocre. The poor overwhelmed waitress tried to solicit our food for us but again, it took 40 minutes to arrive. On top of that the noise level was supersonic. Do not plan to return.

Absolutely amazing! The food was more than delicious. The drinks were top notch with great variety .The atmosphere was delightful and soft. Jammie, our waiter, was attentive, kind, and well knowledgeable with the menu. The entire staff was attentive and caring too. The manager Jeff, came over and made such a great, personal connection with us. Looking forward to going back and enjoying everything.

We usually seek out places that aren’t part of a restaurant group but we’re happy to make an exception for this place. In fact we’ve eaten here twice in the last month, in July, and in August for Dine Out Boston, and both times loved it. The menu adheres closely to French Bistro style, but they go out of their way to use the season’s bounty to keep the menu fresh: we enjoyed sweet corn, swisschard, zucchini, ripe juicy tomatoes, all woven into classic bistro dishes, as well as a bluefish entree (mid-summer to early fall being the best time of year for this fish). The service from everyone is excellent as well, very nice and helpful. In fact, at one point the runner who was bringing our plates, headed towards our table with desserts but seeing that we were still eating our entrees, unobtrusively pivoted halfway over and took them back to the kitchen. Big points for that, as we find too many other Boston restaurants rush you through the meal. In this instance, no fuss, no muss. One comment - the kitchen has a tendency to under cook meat dishes, i.e., getting rare when ordering medium rare, but we’re personally ok with that, since we’d prefer it underdone, rather than overdone (that’s a big no in our book). Other pluses: great wine on the list at many different price points, some things you don’t usually see on restaurant lists; free validated parking in the lot adjacent to the restaurant; a covered patio with lovely planter boxes of annuals - it’s semi-below street level, so when sitting there, you’d never know it abuts the parking lot.

Came primarily because of the widely advertised Boston Dine Out week but no special menu was being offered on today’s (Sunday) lunchtime (no explanation was given). Regular brunch menu was fine but the otherwise very friendly service was quite slow.

Food was excellent. We had several apps and 3 different entrees. The duck and the short rib were tender and tasty. The boulabais was not exactly in the style that was desired, with a thicker broth than expected. It took almost 3 hours to complete the meal. It started with a 20 minute wait to even give a drink order. Then each step took at least 20 minutes. I'd go back for the food, but not sure I could stand the service.
