I wish I could remember our server’s name, he was so kind and on top of everything. Wunsche fries are enough to keep us coming back!! (Also, glad y’all have Campari behind the bar now!)

Enjoyed our visit! Ask for Barclay; great service and recommendations. The sauerkraut balls and fried green tomatoes we delicious. We'll for sure be back for another slice of buttermilk pecan pie!

Service and atmosphere was great, however while waiting at the bar upstairs during Happy Hour, we were charged full price for drinks but only half once we were seated downstairs.

Food was awesome. We did the cheese curds, Texas queso, and fried pickles. For dinner the party had the chicken fried chicken and chicken fried steak while I had the tuna. Everything was delicious. Service was excellent. The noise level was a bit much and I had been hoping to be seated in the dining area as you first walk in. The tables were a bit small when ordering apps and drinks so we spent a lot of time maneuvering plates around. I would definitely recommend this place and would go back.

They need more wait staff. Mark was our waiter and he was very attentive. We weren’t his table but he stepped up! Food was good… we’ll be back.

Hadn’t bern here in 15 years since moving out of state. It is just as good as when we left! It has been remodeled following a fire years ago, and they did an amazing job of keeping the original charm of the building and history yet updating the space. They have also added an upper and lower deck seating area which is smart!

This was our first time dining here even though we live ten minutes away. Valentine’s Day dinner was amazing and such a great deal. The food was so delicious and such great quality. The staff was super nice. One desert took a little longer to make, crème Berle, and the chef sent out an extra desert dish of our choosing while we waited for the Berle. And then he came out to make sure everything was perfect. He did not have to do that at all, but it was very much appreciated. We will definitely be back and I encourage everyone to check this place out. They did a really great job with this little piece of history! Fantastic!

We took our friends out to dinner for their anniversary. There was a new singer performing Sunday night. Boy was he LOUD. All the tables in that area were empty. A couple of the booths had couples in. Them. All of the tables behind the railing between the stairs and railing were empty everyone was requesting seating closer to the hostess stand or outside. So we had to wait even though we had a reservation. We asked the hostess and out server if the singer could just turn down the volume a little but you couldn’t even hear yourself think. They both responded that he had been asked to turn it down and declined (refused) to do so. Umm, I believe he is working for the restaurant and if all the tables around him are empty and the tables farthest away are constantly full and outside is full - get a clue. If we could not be seated we would have been forced to leave because we wanted to have a nice conversation with our friends to celebrate them and some nice ambience with live music. This was not our first time there we have eaten there and recommended you before - from now on however any recommendations will come with a caviat

We came here for Houston Restaurant Week and liked it so much we came back a second time. Food was amazing -had the pork chop and the steak special.They had a phenomenal wine special. Maydsen was our server and she was amazing. Gave us the history of the building. John the manager gave us a tour of the Restaurant and even more history. This will be our new local go to spot.

We went to try the remodeled restaurant for the first time since the fire and brought 6 of our friends. HRW is a great time to go and the special menu did not disappoint. It was such a great value. Everyone really enjoyed their meal and some of the stand outs were the Sauerkraut Ball appetizer, chicken vegetable soup of the day, smoked chicken, pork chop and buttermilk pecan pie. Our server was very sweet and helpful. We all said we would be back to dine again!

They were really nice and talkative with us. Our server and the manager had lots of conversations. We had to move tables but they were really nice about it and it wasn’t inconvenient for us to move and they gave us a free dessert still. Would go there again. Had a fantastic time.

The food was great. The bartender, the manager, and the staff all provided excellent service, especially our server, Reef. Reef was exceptional and made us feel like we were the only patrons he had. When we return, we’ll request him again.
