Eddie Merlot's had always been a "regular" spot for business lunch meetings for me, as it is bright and comfortable, with low level noise (you can actually have a conversation), with a parking garage underneath the building. The service is still decent, but the quality of food has declined. I visited several times this past month thinking it may have been an "off" day, but sadly, it was not. The French Onion soup recipe tastes different, almost like a sweet zucchini soup with onion and croutons; the Caesar salad lettuce was wilted and the shrimp was not cooked (was actually grey, my colleagues also noticed and commented), the Ocean Cobb greens also wilted and the seafood mixture was too creamy in texture and bland in flavor, the burger was overly greasy and the bun fell apart when you picked it up... I never send anything back, nor do my colleagues, since the meetings are for business discussions we wouldn't have time to ask for our meals to be remedied. But like I said, service is decent and good ambiance.

From the moment we arrived we were made very welcome in a nice relaxed way! Allowed to sip our wine and savor the lights outside our window and though my son was late as he was performing in City Theater, the staff here couldn’t have been more accommodating and served us a fabulous meal of world class steak and their own Washington state based white wine was delicious! Our server Gabriella was very experienced in the Eddie Merlot story and educated us on why this establishment is so special! It’s no wonder my youngest son wanted to celebrate his birthday here!! We will return!!👏👏👏👏👏👏

Ordered three steaks one was overcooked was undercooked, and the other one was perfect. Tried the crab biscuit soup which arrived do you have lukewarm in fact, ended up within 1-1/2 hrs after eating becoming sick. Staff to busy to even poor wine. For the price I would expect better quality of food along with much better service Ended up being seated 1/2 hour after our reservation time

Wayyyy overbooked for thanksgiving. Booked a 6:15 reservation but didn’t get seated til 6:45, and that was with some prodding. First drink wasn’t til 7:15 and the appetizer wasn’t til after 7:30. The food was fine (tuna poke) and the thanksgiving meal but it was also very disappointing that after such a LONG wait for the meal, it was cold when I got it. That could’ve been resolved if it was served when it came out. It probably could’ve / should’ve been a 1 1/2 hour meal but wound up being 3. Overall, disappointing. I understand it was a holiday and they may have been understaffed but that can be easily corrected by not booking every reservation that was requested.

Food came out out of order Waited a long time for salad and main came out first. One meal was cold so had to be sent back. Didn't have all ingredients for the wedge salad but brought it out without an explanation of missing ing. Sent that back. Waitress was excellent. Just think they were overwhelmed with the Thanksgiving crowd. Food was good, just a bit slow to get everything.

Good spread on thanksgiving dinner but they were probably understaffed - we had a 5:00 reservation and were seated at 6:10. Understandable given the holiday but we were told it would be a 15-20 minute wait and it ended up being 70 minutes.

We’ve been here many, many times in the past. This was the worst experience. Service was so slow and it was apparent by the faces of other guests they too felt the same. A gentleman at the table across from us actually ended up going to the bar and getting his own drinks. Apps and bread took forever. They and the cocktails were ok. Bread smelled stale. Main entrees took so long. Waitress did apologize. When my steak (del mar style) came out it was lukewarm. The whole plate was barely warm and wild mushroom side was also cold and virtually inedible. She took a long time to check on us and when I told her about my food she apologized and offered to take it off my bill. No manager came to check… nada. Family’s meal was ok. She forgot to take mushrooms off bill. That had to be rectified. The whole experience, on Thanksgiving, was so disappointing. My daughters ordered sprite (as a treat) and it was basically soda water. She went back and said she Sprite was a no go. So they got lemonade. When a server went to refill water glasses and filled my daughter’s lemonade glass glass, which was half full, with water. Sigh… looked forward to a nice meal out on the holiday and left so frustrated.

Fair at best overall considering the price level. We were seated 20 minutes after our reservation. This would normally not be a big deal for me, but this just rubs me the wrong way when high end restaurants go out of their way in the T/C of reservation to highlight their 15 minute "grace" period for their paying customers then seat me 20 minutes late. The Carpaccio appetizer was the highlight of the meal. Nice presentation, very good. The creamed spinach was solid, the bacon gave a nice, distinct smoky flavor. The Ribeye Steak was what you would expect. Good. Not great. The service time to serve was slower than expected, even for a high-end restaurant. The wait staff was good, friendly and professional. Overpriced for full service dinner in my opinion there are better options in Pittsburgh this price range and even at a lower price.

Brilliant Thanksgiving at Eddie Merlot’s!! Staff was on point and did not miss a beat. The dining areas was packed full and staffing was sufficient to accommodate. It was nice to have the choice between traditional dinner and steaks. Food here is consistently well prepared.

Great experience!! The food is absolutely amazing, the sweet potatoes are to die for and the steak is the best you can get in the city. Great cocktails as well. Our waiter was a little unprofessional in his commentary, but overall pleasant experience. Will go again!

My wife and I always go to Eddies for birthdays and our anniversary. We also go at other times during the year. We love it. That is why I hate to say anything bad about it. But something happened on my last visit that I don't understand. How does a steak restaurant not have strip steak? Also, I had the lamb chops and they were extremely fatty. I know lamb chops and there is a high amount of fat But I thought the fat on theses was excessive. I know Eddies is good and I will return. I hope that these problems are the exception and that Eddies will retain it's quality.

We had a reservation for 8pm and waited 30 minutes to be seated. We were finally sat at a table meant for 4 people, our party having 7. We didn’t get drinks, bread, or our appetizer order put in until after 9pm. They didn’t provide a chiller for our wine when we got our drinks and told us that one appetizer comes with chips, but they’re still cooking. We didn’t get these until our entrees came out. We were there to celebrate light up night and planned to show our two year old fireworks for the first time, however we were still waiting on our entrees to arrive when the fireworks began and we were unable to see them. Prior to this experience, we’ve dined here many many times with no issue, and the manager did discount our food for the poor experience, however I think we’ll be dining at Ruth’s Chris or Morton’s for our light up night celebrations in the future.

What’s going on with my favorite restaurant in Pittsburgh ? I visit at least 10 times per year and every time is great. My last 2 visits at the Pittsburgh location have been a mess. Please fix it! Bad service, wrong or missing food, employee seem like they have no leadership. I didn’t see a manager last night at all.

We made this reservation for our daughters birthday BEFORE we realized it was Light Up Night. Checked in with the hostess early & wanted a drink at the bar. Reservation time came they were confused on our reservations. I made it for the lounge & they wanted to seat us in the dining room. We said we preferred the lounge & took us to a cocktail table that had no set ups on it. No problem. Our server was Shania & she said she is working with another girl in our area. Sounds good. She took our drink order brought bread & butter,we have no plates or utensils, delivered our wine. No plates or utensils OR our daughters cocktail. Eventually we have all of our drinks. Then everything went downhill. Placed our order & settled in for a nice evening. We received only one of our appetizers, no plates or dishes. Had to ask the server that brought the appetizer for plates. Food came & my husbands dinner was NOT what he ordered. Not only was it the wrong cut of meat (he ordered a bison filet) he ordered medium & this bison rib eye was so rare blood was all over his plate. My husband rolled with the punches for our daughters sake. He was eating this mistake. Once our server stopped back & checked on us we told her everything was ok BUT we didn’t get our one appetizer and my husbands order was totally wrong. We just wanted to make sure we were NOT charged for the Won Tons we ordered & did not receive. We also said my husbands food was fine he would eat it it instead of waiting on a filet. Shania said ok, left and it was like she avoided us after that. The “other” girl popped over for a min. Finally with my leftovers packed up my daughter wanted Bananas Foster table side for her birthday & we were told that they were not doing it that evening due to Light Up Night. They did sing & gave my daughter free Creme Brûlée. The other girl gave us the check and disappeared. I took our bill to the bar staff. Disappointed and we won’t go back. It was an EXPENSIVE night to be IGNORED. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

As usual, the food was fantastic. The baked oyster appetizer and the peanut butter cup dessert have become my all time favorites, not to mention the outstanding steaks. Ed may be one of the best servers I have ever experienced and Channelle and Henry were wonderful in support of Ed. I recommend this restaurant highly. The manager, Hunter Smith, is a warm and friendly guy who does a great job running the operation.

I feel really bad they are short staffed. The GM was extremely kind. Eddie Merlot needs to do better to support people on the front lines… it all starts with the people on the backend making operational decisions.

Our service was outstanding as you expect from an establishment at this price point. The waitress and and her assistants were personable and attentive. Steaks and crab cakes were cooked perfectly. King crab bisque was extraordinary. The only thing that fell short of expectations were the Brussels sprouts which in our opinion were under cook having the crunch of a raw vegetable. No doubt that we will return in the future for this first class experience!

The atmosphere was wonderful for an anniversary dinner. I've always wanted to go to Eddie Merlot's and was looking forward to the evening. I was very let down and disappointed in the food. The corn chowder was milk. I had no corn or any clumps of anything in my bowl. I felt as though I was just drinking spiced milk. The Caesar Salad was alright but I've tasted much better. Grand Concourse has a much better one. Yours tasted so much like vinegar. The bread and oysters were delicious. The lobster was delicious. My bison was chewy and tough. I love bison and always eat it in Sedona but yours was not good. I ordered medium well - my bison was well done. The waiter was very pleasant - excellent at what she does; although, she saw that our food was not eaten and we wanted to take nothing home when she took the plates but didn't ask. Of course, I said nothing either. Our bill, with tip, was $300.00. We both felt it was a waste of money and will not return. The money doesn't bother me at all - we're willing to pay whatever for a good meal and a nice evening out - if the food is good. I was very disappointed with the food. I expected it to be much better.

Delicious food and our waiter was outstanding. The leftovers the next day just added to the pleasure of dining there. We will return!

We had nice service. When he was available.. we needed to wait for water.. dessert menu and dessert for a long time ! We didn’t realize the special was $148. Which was way too expensive for the potion that didn’t even include salad or side ! We probably won’t return.

Food was fantastic. Hunter does a great job running the place. They must be a little shorthanded at the moment because the service was extremely slow. We waited an exceedingly long time for our cocktails and for wine with dinner.
