The worst thing was that the host wasn't ready for us to arrive, even though we had a reservation. He wasn't sure where to seat us and told us to hold on while he checked something for us. Then we got seated, and he said for us to hold on because he had to check if we could sit there. He said we probably could, but we might need to move. We ended up staying. Service was good! Could have used a little more presence when we needed a refill or an extra straw because our toddler chewed up the one we had. Food was really good. Not cheap, but good portions, good quality. The caesar salad and the brussel sprouts were the standouts. The mac and cheese was tasty, but yellow, which cheapened the feel. Brings Kraft to mind, even though it was an elevated mac and cheese. My wife's drink was very good. Loved the way the kitchen opens up into the space. Very good experience. We will be back.

Really great southern food menu and the restaurant decor and atmosphere is really great. It was a tad loud and service was a little on the slower side, but we had a group of 6. Would recommend, definitely make reservations though.

Had the short rib, fried chicken, mac and cheese and buttermilk biscuits. Everything was cooked perfectly and seasoned well. We loved the apple compote that comes with the biscuits. Had a inKind reward which helped greatly with the steep prices. Service from Dana was excellent, and managers also checked on our table. Highly recommend!

The food was outstanding and our waitress was as well. There was no host at the front door when we came in and when he did arrive, he was rude and very unprofessional.

Too loud. Too cold and not just on this visit (65 degrees indoors on a warm June day). Not the first time here - the food is inconsistent. Sometimes fabulous fried chicken (tender and tasty). Sometimes just OK (chewy and so--so fried skin). Service was good, but way too much pushing you to order from different servers (within a few minutes of receiving menu) and then waiting way too long to get a bill and pay well after eating. Least expensive wine is $65/btl for nothing recognizable - could offer some lower price choices of decent quality. Will go again, but not rush back. Tons of better options in DC and ones that are not chains. We are locals.

We were traveling and it was my birthday so we wanted to eat a good dinner to celebrate. I actually found Yardbird while looking at Open Table. We agreed it looked great and decided to book our dinner. It was awesome!! The food was delicious, our waitress (Christine) was very attentive and friendly and quick to help us. Everything we ordered was top notch and the portions were very generous. I am so glad we found Yardbird and tried it. I want to go back!!

Everything was great the only concern was our server wasn’t very attentive. He disappeared a few times. We ended up having to ask someone else for assistance. However the manager walked around several times to check on everyone. So anything we needed we were able to be assisted.

The restaurant itself was beautiful and the ambience very inviting. The staff were very pleasant and accommodating when I added an extra person to the reservation last minute. We visited for Father's day excited to try the newly introduced breakfast/brunch menu. Unfortunately breakfast was a bit disappointing due to the food quality and pricing. The Rib Eye Steak & Eggs was listed as market price so we assumed somewhere between $40-$50 based on previous experiences at Ruth Chris, or other reputable steak houses. It was instead a whopping $76 for a 14oz and a side of eggs. They did not communicate the price at any point. There were no other sides or salad that came with it. The steak itself was very fatty and certainly not worth $75. Maybe $30-$35 at best. They also asked us if we preferred, tap, bottled or sparkling water. Being a native of DC we obviously chose bottled over tap. They again never disclosed the price, however after receiving the bill, a 1L bottle of still water was $30 and they charged us for 2. I order the chicken and waffles and substituted the cheddar waffle for a plain one. The waffle was very thick and grainy and tasted like cornmeal. The chicken was tasty. All in all this restaurant is hugely overpriced and does not live up to the hype. I'd much rather go to STK or Ruth Chris and still won't pay as much as I did here.

The waitress started of great them waned as we finished our meal talking to co workers when we were ready for our check. I didn’t press the issue since it was pouring down rain I was in no rush. Lol
