This has been the second time i visited Tao. The vibe and ambience is amazing. Service is good. As a vegetarian we got a lot of options which is amazing.

I absolutely love coming to TAO Downtown — it’s definitely one of my favorite restaurants in the city. The food is amazing, the ambiance is breathtaking, the drinks are delicious, and the service is consistently ten out of ten. I visited last Tuesday at 11:30 PM, which was their last reservation slot of the night. One of the managers, Jonathan Vlad Bermeo, personally walked us to his favorite table in the restaurant. His customer service is truly impeccable. The attention to detail that Jonathan showcases is quite rare to find. I’d like to publicly thank him and express my sincere appreciation for the incredible job he does. Our server, Jeremy, was also a highlight of the evening. He recommended and explained every dish with great care. Both Jeremy and Vlad went above and beyond to ensure we had an unforgettable dining experience. If you’re looking for a place with excellent food, outstanding service, and great drinks, TAO is always the best choice.

10/10 an amazing experience. From the moment I stepped in the premises I was swept to another world. The statue in the back is an eyesore and the layout is something to stare at for hours at edge. My server Ryan was attentive to detail and helpful. The food came out fast,hot n perfectly made. The orange chicken,short rib bao buns and banana pudding were stars of the course.the ambience and background noise weren’t too much of bother even with tons of people inside. Highly recommend coming here.

Tao always delivers. Still my favorite food anywhere and my guests were complimenting the service and treatment compared to other NY restaurants.

We arrived early so we opted to sit at the sushi bar to be seated right away. It was a little crowded but not too bad. Our server came fairly quickly. From start to finish we wanted for nothing. We go to the Tao at Mohegan Sun a lot and the food was the same quality. Some menù changes messed us up a little. Luckily the waitress asked a question thay got us to look more closely at the menu. The King Crab California Roll was in the same place on the menu that the Spicy King Crab Roll was at Tao so we almost ordered the wrong item! They also don’t have the Sensei drink on the menu at all and the Lychee martini is much better at our home Tao at Mohegan. It’s actually made differently. The prices were comparable to the prices at mohegan as well. It was VERY loud there. We had a good time and will return!

The service was not good. Had to shout to get a manager to come over and get some forks. Someone else’s desert was served to us before our appetizers. The waiter was nice but never checked on us but managers in suits were everywhere not helping anyone. Food was mid, expensive Chinese food. The atmosphere is cool that’s about it.

Overall had a pretty good experience. The food is always a hit—I’m obsessed with their spicy tuna and yellowtail jalapeño sashimi. Fresh and flavorful. The place was packed (literally no empty tables), so while the service was a bit slow, it felt more like they were just overwhelmed. One weird thing though—they were super strict about taking photos with flash on a small camera, but not on a phone, which honestly doesn’t make much sense. I’d give it a solid 7/10.
