The menu and quality atmosphere at Fadó will reset your expectation around what it means to eat at an Irish Pub. There is a broad range of snacks for sharing and fantastic burgers and sandwiches. The star of our entrée section is our Fish and Chips which uses sustainably caught cod from the deep waters off of Iceland. You’ll also see Irish staples like Shepherd’s Pie and Corned Beef and Cabbage. We take great pride in our seasonal menu which changes regularly.

We are known for our cocktail selection with an emphasis on Irish spirits, a broad range of local craft beers and, of course, the best Pint of Guinness in DC.

We were the first customers to arrive for breakfast on a Sunday, so the noise level was very low. Two of us ordered the full Irish breakfast (rashers of bacon, sausage, blood pudding, eggs) and were delighted. The other two of us ordered the RLT, a filling sandwich with avocado, rashers of bacon, lettuce we added an egg on top.

They were closed for a staff party, but still allowed me to make a reservation. So we went all the way down there and had to make other plans on the fly. Very disappointed. If you’re not going to be open, don’t take reservations.

So I was pretty excited fro this place because I love Irish pubs and the atmosphere in them! It was a busy Saturday in DC so I expected the service to be a bit slow and overwhelmed but it was much worse than I expected. They were very understaffed which made service really slow and they completely cancelled brunch. Very disappointing to people who made reservations there specifically for brunch. The food was good and was the fastest thing about the experience. Definitely don't plan on having brunch here on a busy Saturday, they aren't able to keep up with the demand of the busy area.

We were seated promptly at a very nice table. The ambiance was reminiscent of an Irish pub. The Guinness was poured to perfection. I ordered the shepherd’s pie at the recommendation of our server and found it to be the best I’ve ever had. It was served in the cast iron skillet it was baked in and was full of meat with just the right amount of vegetables. Our server, Mary from Dublin, was friendly, engaging and made the experience extra pleasurable. I was hoping for irish music but came on the wrong night (Thursday).

The place was full and busy when we arrived for our 6 pm reservation. The sign said "set yourself". We saw a table for two and walked over and there on the table was a sign saying the table was reserved for US. The waitress came immediately to take our drinks order. The food was fabulous - we each tried a different burger. The beer was great. My husband had to have another round - it was just that good. We definitely recommend Fado's and will go there again next time we are in DC for a concert.

TOO LOUD in the establishment and NO LIGHT to see the menus. The "French Dip" lamb sandwich special a misnomer - no "dip" (aka juice) is provided, yet there was a lovely less than 2 ounce gravy cup. The sandwich was unremarkable. Side choices for "French dip" was fries OR salad. Waiter did NOT tell us there was a $1 ADDITIONAL charge for the salad when he said Fries OR SALAD with the "French Dip"! The salad, although lovely, came with slivered almonds which is a food allergen which was not declared when the waiter did NOT TELL me of the additional charge for the salad. Train the waitstaff better to explain the additional charge of $1 each for salad when the choice was fries OR salad. When explaining the additional charge, train waitstaff to tell that the salad includes a food allergen of ALMOND NUTS.

We always love visiting Fado when we are in the city. Mary was a wonderful server, made us feel very welcome, and introduced us to another couple who shared our musical interest when she noticed the shirt my husband was wearing.

We had an open table reservation but it was seat yourself. We did and let them know we were there. Worked out great as we had a table in back corner. service was good, food was good ( fish and chips, Shepherd pie) and noise was fine for a Saturday night. Had a nice Black and Tan, small MacAllen. All in all, we would go back again

Always love this pub, but on this Sunday they abruptly decided to stop serving brunch at 10:30 am.... when we had a reservation at 10:30 for brunch. And again, recognizing that it was the day of a Caps game (doesn't this happen quite often?), the service was crazy slow for 2 people in our party. Their food took over 40 minutes to come out. So, I'll go back, but I'll be sure to ask about brunch hours if that's my plan. Servers were great - very nice & fun. Food was good.

It was Superbowl Sunday and we were going to a 1230 CAPS game. We went for brunch, but were told that the brunch menu was not available because of how crowded the restaurant was. This was not known until we got there. Also our waitress was not attentive at all and we had to wait to give our drink order as well as our food order. Once we did get our drinks, at was at least a half hour before she got back with us.

I made a reservation for 4 at Fado before a hockey game. I was worried when I first walked in as I saw a sign that said “seat yourself”. The place was packed and there were no tables. I thought there is no way I am going to get the table I reserved. Within a few minutes, I had a server and two managers looking for a table for me and within five minutes, we had a table for four. We got quick service and the manager came back to check on us several times. I was impressed.

Service was great - waitress was very patient with my allergies and vegan diet. Food was really good - we especially enjoyed the hummus with mint oil. Many creative drink options, including some fantastic imported beers and whiskeys. A little loud at times, but decor was nice and atmosphere was lively but not overbearing. We had a great time!

What a great experience. We have been to Ireland and this place replicates the experience. The food is great and the drink good. They even have flights of whiskey like in Dublin. The service was great as well.
