With just 28 seats, mkt. is an intimate restaurant in an cozy Seattle neighborhood known as Tangletown between Wallingford and Greenlake. It gets its name from Meridian, the traditional name for the neighborhood; the historic Keystone Building that it’s housed in; and Tangletown, as the area is now known. My husband and I dined at MKT during Seattle Restaurant Week and we had a great meal! For starters, we had green beans, polenta fritters, burrata crostini, and cod arancini, then seared scallops for our main, and panna cotta for dessert. Portions were generous and every dish was delicious - perfectly prepared and served very promptly. We booked an outside table and although it was a cold night, the provided blankets and under-table heater kept us very comfortable - along with our warm coats!

My partner and I went for Restaurant Week and the food and service were impeccable. We had an amazing waitress, I think her name was Cat, and she was FANTASTIC! Seriously, so wonderful and helpful. She helped us find a great bottle of wine to split and she was so helpful in talking us through the menu. The environment was cozy and wonderful. The food was so, so, so good. The lamb and duck were perfect and I know it's just a baguette, but the SeaWolf baguette is incredible with the honey butter. This place is fantastic and everyone should try it out who loves good food.

We had a divine meal at mkt Seattle last night. I told my husband it’s been a long time since a meal delighted & surprised me so much. I particularly loved the care & inventiveness they put into the salads. It’s no small feat to make a salad surprising & delicious. We loved the golden tomato salad with grilled peaches and honeycomb & the cod arancini. The octopus carpaccio was a sheer delight. Service was excellent. Ambience also excellent. Cocktails masterful. My best dining experience in a long time.

Under new ownership the restaurant is significantly improved. The food was outstanding, the best scallops we’ve ever had. The burrata with cranberry compote as well as the chickory salad were savory starters. Service was sublime. Well done!

Fresh flavors in every dish. Great to share so you can taste a variety. Good wine list and friendly staff. Clean and cozy- easy to chat with your neighbor as it is basically a long hallway with a big bench on one side.

The food is consistently outstanding and interesting. Great cocktails----had the white negroni, and I highly recommend it. Chef Alvin is talented in how he mixes flavors and prepares everything from fish to meat to vegetables.

Holiday and birthday dinner with friends. They were four of us which is the perfect number for this restaurant. He probably doesn't accommodate more than about six comfortably due to the layout. So it is very intimate. Very good vegetables preparations and from what I'm told the meat preparations were very good as well

Love this place. Has become a special date spot for me and my boyfriend! Was so much fun to share with our friends. Tasting menu left us stuffed and totally satisfied! Close proximity to the kitchen allowed us to talk with our chef and get inside info! So much fun. Can't wait to go again.

I call this kind of place "casual/fancy" in that the environment is quite casual, but the food is a cut above. The food is served in a quasi-tapas kind of way, which ended up working out (food comes out based purely on when the chef is done with it). There's not a lot of elbow room, but overall it is a very quaint place we will visit again.

Good but asked for our food to come out slowly yet everything came out within about 30-45 minutes and then we were done. Not ideal especially when we paid for a baby sitter so we could have a long date night dinner

Delicious food and wonderful service. My friend and I shared the grilled and marinated green beans (extremely flavorful and fun to eat), porcini ravioli (believe the rave reviews about the pasta - rich and bursting with flavor, yet delicate), and the grilled wagyu beef (so tender and perfectly seasoned - amazing flavor). Our server suggested 2-3 dishes per person to share, but we were both full and satisfied with the three that we chose. Parking was surprisingly plentiful around the block. I definitely recommend this neighborhood gem.
