Since its opening in October of 2013, Sarma has been Somerville's go-to neighborhood spot for Middle-Eastern and Eastern-Mediterranean inspired cuisine. Here, Chef/Co-Owner Cassie Piuma serves up casual & carefully constructed small plates that pack in bold flavors and highlight Piuma's exquisite culinary command of spices, textures, and colors. Sarma's bar opens daily at 5 PM- drop by to try one of our house cocktails, or to sample our range of craft beers and eclectic wines. Walk-ins are always welcome and are greeted on a first-come first-served basis. Please note, reservations are highly encouraged. We liked the service and ambiance. Drinks were creative. Some of the small plate items were quite good. But the rest had a cacophony of flavors that did not work well. Some dishes were too sour. Main entrees took a long time to arrive so several people in our party had finished while others were waiting. Not many options for dessert.

The food is fantastic. We have never had a bad dish and each one tasted like it was just prepared especially for us. Our waiter was a little grumpy, though, when we asked about the special plates that are brought around. We were also informed that there was already a reservation for our table at 8:00 and we needed to be gone by then.

Wow! I now know why it's so difficult to get a reservation. Sarma is really special with very unusual, absolutely delicious food. Every dish was a surprise, every dish was beautifully prepared and unique. I can't wait to go back.

This was our second time at Sarma's. Everything was very good but not as outstanding as our first time. I think this has to do with the Waitresses recommendations. We ordered different things this time and they weren't as "wow" as the first time but still very good.

This is the single best restaurant in the Boston area. The crazy amount and range of flavor is unreal. If I were dying tomorrow, I would be at Sarma tonight.

The food is fantastic, but a dinner for two with cocktails can easily run around $200. Take a Lyft, don't drive, parking can be tricky and you'll want to sample at least one cocktail. Our table felt too close to our neighbors and it was very loud for a Monday night and completely packed. Sitting across from each other and so close to others felt less intimate than we'd have liked for an anniversary dinner. If only there were a way to dampen the noise and space tables a bit more, it would be much nicer. It took booking two months ahead just to get a Monday night reservation. Too popular to give people more space. Very unique cocktails and delicious food. The harissa duck was my favorite.

This was our second time at Sarma and the service and food/cocktails were as good as the first time. The tapas are really small but packs a great taste. There are many food options for vegetarians as well. Cocktails (Urfa and Walk with rhythm) were great. Planning to visit again soon!

We have eaten all over the world and Sarma is our favorite. The food is really out of this world. It is perfect for vegetarians & meat eaters. The food is spot on in terms of flavor profile, spicing, presentation and everything in between. Whenever I go to sarma, I always wonder why I eat out anywhere else as no where compares to the deliciousness of Sarma

We have gone to Sarma 7 times. We have always absolutely loved it. This time it was disappointing. It was 4 of us.We ordered 10 dishes and 4 of them were mediocre. We didn't even finish them and they are small portions. One of them, the octopus, was really bad and the waitress kindly took it off the check. 3 of them were really good, to be expected. The other 2 were just ok. I want to think that this bad experience was due to making reservations at 22:15 and having the cooks and the chefs tired. Hopefully next time it will be back to normal. Thanks

Probably one of the best restaurants in Boston area with unique dishes. I would highly recommend this place for vegetarians and meat lovers as they blend things that I would never eat outside otherwise. Their lamb sliders, pea falafel, parsnip fritters are some of my favorite and their daily special as well are worth it. A little expensive , but an experience to remember. Their frozen yogurt with different toppings is just the perfect way of ending a meal. Overall, a nice place to celebrate a special occasion or a date.

Large menu with a good variety of tapas-style dishes. Plenty of good options whether you like veggie, meat, fish, etc. Highly recommend the lamb köfte sliders and champagne mango shirazi from the standard menu. They also bring around nightly specials throughout the meal that you can elect to try (ranging from ~$8-15 depending on what it is). We have really enjoyed those, with our favorite being the sesame fried chicken. Be sure to save room for dessert!

so many unique options, execution was a bit off.. Some dishes just needed a touch of salt to balance while others were overly salted, ie: the trout, which was very dry and salty. Stand outs were the snap peas, bright flavors, seasonal and balanced and the lentil nachos were a hit.

I had an extremely disappointing visit to Sarma after waiting almost three months to find a reservation that worked for us. The service was possibly the worst I have ever had. Not once did the waiter ask how we were enjoying our meals, recommend something to order, or do anything to make us feel like we were an appreciated patron. On top of this, it was one of my guests birthday's and instead of keeping it a surprise he said I know its your birthday when we sat down and then threw a candle with no desert at her to end the night. Many better places in the area if they do not learn to train their staff better. When we asked for the manager he did not even follow through.

Sarma is one of my favorite spots in Camberville! Went first with a reservation and have since visited many times at their bar. The dishes change up and are always tasty, but the staples like the lentil nachos and the brisket never fail to please.
