Amazing food but it was pricey. Be prepared to spend money when you go. The service was great and we were sat immediately. Again the food OMG, delicious.
Had to wait 30 extra minutes from our 9.15pm reservation, but they gave us 4 free desserts and a free pitcher of sangria to make up for the wait. Overall great, kind of loud, food is amazing.
Chef Marcos and the staff were phenomenal! The service and food were spectacular, especially the authentic Valencian paella. This is the only Spanish restaurant that I will dine at from now on. Absolutely amazing!!!!! Gracias Chef Marcos por darme un poco de Valencia aquí en Chicago👏👏👏😊
Bad experience, you can’t promote yourself as a Spanish restaurant if you sell tapas without bread, sangria without fruits and paella for two in a single pan. Neither the músic was Spanish music. Completely disappointed. Don’t go there if you are looking for real Spanish food.
Great service. Our sever was knowledgeable and passionate about the delicious food. We ordered everything and she coursed the food. Best paella ever! Especially with the cardinal prawn option.

Located in a surprisingly hot new area. The food and drinks were spot on and the service very good. A little loud but that’s the vibe for a place like this.

The food it is not good! Not flavor well not my taste. Bathrooms are very dirty... But the bar Bordel upstairs it’s amazing! The best cocktails, the best Groove / House music !

Amazing food and great service. My only complaint is that I had a reservation booked for 7:45 on a Friday. We checked in at 7:46 and they told us they had given our table away. We weren’t seated until 8:05. I understand that stuff happens with seating, but was disappointed on our situation was handled at the beginning. Food made up for it though. I will be back!
I loved Black Bull. All of the food was amazing and the staff does a great job making you feel welcome and providing great suggestions on the food. Would abosolutely go again.
We had a very good time. we only had one issue with a dish but out waitress took care of it right away.
Black Bull never disappoints! The scallops are cooked perfectly. My favorite is the croquetas absolutely delicious. The gazpacho is difficult to share but don’t miss it. It is so fresh and tasty. I could easily eat all night here.
Ambiance was nice indoor and outdoor seating available server was friendly and attentive and the food was generally good. However they serve their cheese and meat plate with tiny breadsticks which are not conducive to eating the meats and cheeses. I've never seen this anywhere else and it made no sense. You need a vehicle for the toppings. We had to order bread separately, for additional charge. Also, dessert menu was not Spanish. Just regular, and not anything special. Churros y chocolat would have been a much lovelier option, keeping with the rest of the menu
Black Bull is, by far, the best Tapas we've had in Chicago! Amazing and authentic, would recommend to anyone looking for some Tapas and Pinxtos, as well as Spanish paella!

Food is always awesome and I love how their menu is seasonal. Although they keep some great items year round. The patio is lovely in the summer, but be prepared for a noisier atmosphere. Overall a great place to dine.
This place was perfect let me tell you! The location was perfect. Food was awesome! Drinks too! My date loved it and she was super impressed. Not badly priced for what you get. If your looking for a nice date night with a little spice then take her here! Thanks to the staff we had an amazing time and I would definitely go back! Bacon wrapped dates are a must try!

The food , flavors and presentation was great ! The wait staff were pleasant ! We had a great time ! They also have a speakeasy bar on the second floor if you want to stay out , I think you need seperate reservations ! We were with our 19 year old and cousins so we just had dinner and left ! Would highly recommend this restaurant to people who love tapas
We went to Black Bull for a friend's birthday and dish after dish just fell a little flat. The cocktails were nice and they do a good cheese plate and vegetarian paella, but nothing outstanding. The bacon wrapped dates were disappointing, which surprised me - it seems like such an easy dish to get right.

Service was great. Our server was very attentive and explained dishes in detail. Flavors were great. The atun, pulpo and shrimp were best. Meatballs were fair. Red sangria was excellent. Parking was difficult for two guests in my party,
45 minutes wasted searching so alternative means suggested.
first time to Black Bull and what a great experience! We had a nice table by the window and it was a beautiful night. We let the waiter guide us in our selections and that was a great idea - he selected 4-5 dishes for us, each more tasty that the last! What a great evening and we will definitely return!
One of my favorite restaurants in Chicago! The staff is amazing, the seafood is so fresh, and the rib eye is a real treat. I am constantly recommending this place.
We had a great time, as always, when we go to Black Bull. Colleen was our server and she did a great job explaining entrees and wine selections and taking great care of us. Each dish that was dropped off, no matter from whom, was described to us with pride. Excellent food and great meal to share with friends. Thank you!
I took a business crowd to Black Bull for an early dinner. it was a great place to create conversations.
Fantastic food - substandard service
We had a reservation for 9pm but couldn’t be seated at our table so they sat us outside on the patio, it was a warm evening and it was nice to be outdoors.
Food was great, we had garlic prawns, croquettes, dates in bacon and crab empanadas. We had no cutlery and ate our prawns with our hands despite asking multiple serves for cutlery. Drinks were extremely slow to be served as well.
I’d go again because the food really was lovely, the servers were all really nice too but they just didn’t seem to work as a team and that let them down
Excellent tapas and drinks, with outstanding service. If anything the menu was a bit too concise, but that was easily overlooked by the sheer quality of the food.

Every time I have eaten at Black Bull, the food has been outstanding. This was my first time dining on a weekend night, and the meal cake out slow, but being a Spanish joint, I figured that was part of the authentic Spanish experience. Will definitely continue to dine here.
Dillion was a great waiter. Helpful and gave good recommendations. The only thing the staff messed up was bringing up more orders of meatballs than we ordered. Which they gave for free and who hates free meatballs
My friends and I were SO impressed with Black Bull! Our waitress (I'm sorry I forgot your name!) was awesome and went above and beyond making sure we felt comfortable with the menu before ordering, enjoyed our food, and had a great time. We were in a group of 5 girls at a square booth and it was the perfect atmosphere; not so loud that you can't hear each other across the table, but loud enough that you know everyone's having a good time. The food was amazing. Best tapas I've ever had. We will all definitely be back!
Food was very good and authentic. We come from Spanish heritage, couple of us 1st generation, so we are typically more critical than most. We enjoyed the evening and all agreed we would go back. The paellas were very good to excellent for the black paella. tapas were also good but for a group of eight it was expensive if you order enough for everyone to have a piece of ___. Service was excellent and much of this was because we had Julia. If you want to make the experience a complete success it can happen with Julia. As for value, it was on the pricey side for this type of dining. For most folks this is not something you can do on a regular basis. that said, we are already planning our next visit.
Excellent food. Chef Tony and Chef Ames made nicely prepared Cochinillo, Chuleton, and Paella Valenciana and other surprises. Drinks were excellent especially the Citrus and the Sangria. The restaurant was lively and our server, Angela, was attentive and friendly. We have eaten at Black Bull multiple times and will definitely return.
