11 year wedding anniversary. Lawrys made it very special for us. They had a red ribbon across the table and brought dessert afterwards. Very nice touch. Of course the food was incredible and service too. Thank you
Once again, this restaurant outdid themselves. Our meal was absolutely delicious, carved by Alan and our waitress Ms Dryysen was extremely attentive and very pleasant. Only wish this place was a little closer so we could go more often.
The restaurant in Downtown Chicago is quite dated. While the “all inclusive” aspect of the meal was a nice value added, the lack of other options (salad is one and done) was disappointing. The Prime Rib was well seasoned and perfectly carved. Not really a problem with the food. The wait staff was not terribly friendly and really set a bad mood for us. Our pre dinner bar experience was one of the worst service experiences I’ve had in Chicago. The bartender was not friendly, welcoming or chatty. He was training someone - not very well, I’m sure and didn’t care much for having us sitting there...we did have drinks. Overall, what was once a real downtown legend, is now tatty and unwelcoming.
When we celebrate this is my first choice, outstanding food service decor
We’ve been to Lawry’s many times before and have always enjoyed the experience from beginning to end. Unfortunately this time we were disappointed. Our carver seemed confused about our order and our server was monotone - just going through the motions. Our prime rib was not heated through, the sides were so-so and our dessert “to go” was a total miss. The smallest piece of cake thrown into a large box. Not what we’ve become accustomed to when dining at Lawry’s.
Good food, good service, not enough gluten free options.
This was the first time at Lawry’s. We were celebrating my daughters new job. It was a great time for our family . Everyone had a really good time. We will be back.
Great for a special occasion - service was excellent and friendly (Ms. Johnson) and steaks were excellent along with scalloped potatoes and creamed corn - a special treat when visiting Chicago!
We always enjoy eating at Lawry's, the tableside salad and service of prime rib is awesome. Service is great. Desserts, if you have room, are also wonderful.
I love prime rib. This is one of the best I have ever had, if not the best. If anyone thinks they have found better, I would like to know. The prime rib here is all about the meat, no over seasoning and no smoking. Just roasted meat.
Been going there since 1980 ... best prime rib ANYWHERE!
it is a bit like stepping back in time in a good way. Décor and servers start your journey, the great service and food top it off. Tableside service adds to the experience
I love this restaurant ....... the creamed corn is amazing! Every time we come to town, we plan a visit here.
We go to Lawry's in Chicago from Milwaukee at least twice per year. Fabulous prime rib, my favorite restaurant. Definitely worth the drive!
My prime rib was mostly pink, when I ordered well-done.
My favorite restaurant in all of Chicago.
Seemed like it had slipped a little. My husband ordered RARE , but his cut from Peter was medium. I guess we should of asked for new cut. Peter the carver knows better. The roast was almost gone. Was replaced after serving us. Expect better from Lawry’s.
Lawry's is the perfect place to celebrate a special occasion. I have celebrated birthdays, wedding anniversaries and even Valentine's Day here. The service is outstanding and the food is consistently delicious.
Made my mom feel so special!! We celebrated her birthday on a Friday night and the staff was so wonderful.
Service by all was outstanding along with great Prime Rib!!!!
It's been many years since I've been to Lawry's. The atmosphere is outstanding. The service is outstanding. They did replace my prime rib when it was served at tableside, cold. However since it's cut it tableside and served cold in this particular case, it got even colder waiting for the sides to arrive from the kitchen. For an entree that is $50, and sides that are $10 each, I would expect them to be served together at an appropriate temperature. The Carver should wait for the vegetables to be on the table before serving the meat. I will require this timing on my second visit this season. I will try it one more time. The quality of the meat was outstanding and the service was even better.
This place is a classic! Very traditional, harkening back to days gone by. The prime rib is excellent - the cart that is wheeled up to the table that is a unique, Art Deco design. The servers definitely know their stuff, and can provide expert guidance in terms of wine, menu choices, etc. It's not cheap, but the quality is great. An overall pleasant experience.
The service was great! Mr Rivera was an excellent waiter.
Food was great. Service was a bit in attentive. Waiter was trying to be funny but came off as annoying. Should take the service of the table more serious. Two choices of wine were not available. Lawry’s should have better control over inventory than that.
Have been coming here for many years and love to be served by Maureen Kliver as she is absolutely exceptional. I can always rely on the prime red and Yorkshire pudding. I have to say this year the noise level was a little too high though. Maureen is an exceptional waitress and I would like to add that much of my loyalty is due to her efforts.
The waitstaff was nice and friendly. The taste of the prime rib was lacking to say the least.
Always a great meal and time at Lawry’s. A go to for a nice occasion in Chicago.
Always a great meal and service at Lawrys Prime Rib. A Chicago treasure and tradition
Long wait for a booth, but they did a great job in helping us celebrate a birthday. Great comfort food, wonderful beef from people who have been doing this a long time. Service was very good, decent and appropriate wine list and a "birthday cupcake" for our 18 year old. Would go again.
Great steak and great atmosphere! :)
I had to go nurse my daughter and our waitress reheated my plate once I got back to the table. So thoughtful!
Had a wonderful meal and was taken beautifully. Love this place when we come to Chicago
Ms. Robins, our server, was outstanding. She was very attentive to our needs but did not hover. Recommendations were right on target, particularly the one
Always a great experience. Particularly love the staff -- Ms. Hodges was friendly, fun and efficient.
Love this place!
Just outstanding, always very consistent and always great! Excellent service and the best Prime Rib anywhere.
El personal de recepción no fue amable. La comida bajó un poco de calidad de la última vez que lo visitamos.
As usual, the prime rib is second to none. Loved our quiet booth. Always a great dining experience and a classy place.
Excellent dinner - Ms Farmer our server was sweet and efficient.
We love Lawrys. Usually go to the Las Vegas restaurant, where we actually had our wedding nearly 12 years ago. Went to the one in Beverly Hills for my 50th birthday. This is our 3rd time to the one in Chicago. The food, excellent as always but our waiter seemed disintersted. We were not offered a steak knife. We weren't served our Yorkshire pudding, we weren't asked if we wanted refills of our drinks. He never checked on us. Just not up to the standard we are used to at Lawrys restaurants
Ms. Rivkin was an excellent waitress and made our dining experience enjoyable
We generally dine at Lawry's on special occasions, and some times just for the prime rib. The food is always outstanding and the atmosphere is wonderful. My only wish is that there was a Lawry's in the West or North West Suburbs. The market would certainly support a suburban location like Oak Brook or Naperville. We would dine far more often.
