My friend said her Fish & Fries were good. I got a beet frisée salad - lots of beets and almonds, very little goat cheese, and frisée had lots of stems vs greens. I’ve had fantastic salads in the same price range ($12-$14) in other places, namely Tatte and Mother Juice.
Had 13 meet for dinner before the football game -- service, timing, food, drinks, atmosphere -- all perfect!
Grafton Street has a fun, vibrant atmosphere. Our group of four had a great meal and excellent attentive service. Beer and drink menu was fantastic - nice Irish pub choices, The dinner menu isn't extensive, but there's something for everyone, including personal pizzas. The scallops, shepherd's pie and burgers were delicious. My only critique is that the food (appetizers and entrees) is pricey and the portions are on the small size. I'd definitely return for the bar scene, but would seek a more reasonably priced dinner elsewhere. $180 bill for 4 people (3 adults, one teen, with 2 burger meals), including 2 rounds of beer.
The service was outstanding!
The food cesar salad and Sheppards Pie were barely edible.
good food. Usual fare nothing extraordinary but what they serve is nicely prepared.
Would have liked more of an Irish flair since it is one of our more prominent Irish pubs.
I used to frequent this restaurant in its early days and they would make amazing Irish stews, cauliflower with a delicate cheese sauce and other similar dishes. They also had a changing daily special from traditional Irish cuisine and I am sorry they have moved away form this.
Good food, good location, great time! Party of 18 and they accommodate us all together.
The food was good but not notable. We enjoyed our salad and our hamburger during the Head of the Charles Regatta, where many places were jammed. It was busy but not full. Our server was pleasant and efficient. The tap water tasted terrible; no idea why. We live nearby and know what it should taste like.
The food—salmon, scallops, risotto—was outstanding! Bit loud for us, but the food was fantastic.
Did I mention the food was really good?!
Thus is the first bad review that I have ever written in my life. I ordered a dish that was supposed to be spicy chicken with linguini. It very much appeared to be chicken in BARBECUE SAUCE that had been creatively reconfigured into a pasta dish. It was the worst lunch that I have ever been served in a restaurant and thus I feel compelled to let people know that the food was really sub- par. I can’t believe that they served this bbq sauce as a pasta sauce . It was gross.
If you have a peanut allergy (or any serious food allergy) avoid Grafton. There for brunch this Sunday. After informing the waitperson of the allergy and ordering we were advised by the chef that the blueberry pancakes might not be safe because of the potential for cross contamination. Fine, we went with the calamari. Again advised by the chef that there might be potential for cross contamination in the fryer. Specifically, we were told we should stick with something that could be cooked in a separate pan on it’s own. Pretty limiting and not a great situation for a 15 year old looking forward to brunch with her family. This was supposedly the directive from a chef that also suffered from a severe allergy of some sort. While we appreciate the kitchens desire to keep customers with allergies safe, any kitchen worth it’s salt should be able to maintain protocols to avoid cross contamination and allow these customers access to a reasonable portion of their menu. The food at Grafton may be fine (not sure we walked out) but if you have a significant allergy it is not the place for you.
Loved brunch at Grafton. Our server deserves 10 stars. So entertaining! Great spot near Harvard.
We have been here twice as part of a group numbering 6-7 people. Both times we received great food and all had a great time. It was great that they had everything hamburgers to vegan selections so that everyone in our party was able to dine well! The noise levels are high here, but it's a fun place for a special night out with friends.
Excellent food and great service. Good music but allows to talk. Not to noisee
We were there early so it wasn't very busy. We both ordered cheeseburgers that were excellent. You can get a salad or fries or a combination of both.
Great time with friends in a semi-private area. The service was great and prices reasonable. Food was delicious, especially the appetizers, and I would recommend it again to friends and coworkers.
Great good service
Great neighborhood hang-out, with lots of great options at competitive pricing.
We sat by the window and loved the warm Sunday morning breeze. The only negative was that they were out of the lobster omelette which was the plan for my husband and son. Otherwise, a great visit and we will come back again.
drinks were disappointing but service was fantastic and food was delicious. I would consider going back to try new items.
One of my daughters favorite place on the square- perfect for
Sunday brunch- food is great- you can tell the chef is Really Good and our waiter was awesome
Great food. Great vibe. Love the booths.
Unfortunately my friends and I did not have the best brunch experience here at the Grafton Pub. The service was extremely lackluster until the manager took over. I can not be sure if it was staffed with college/highscool students or just underwhelming staff. The resturant itself was full but very quiet as it sits right on a busy street corner in Harvard Square. The food was alright but also not hot. The lobster benedict breakfast and french toast was well enjoyed by my friends. A big issue was that the group of us five women all got our food before my 3 year old who ordered a cheese pizza first. The kids pizza did not arrive until 15 minutes or more after we got our food which was not acceptable since she no longer wanted it after the wait. Her pizza should have came out first. The manager that evening (whos name I forgot) did put a "rush" on the pizza and was much more enthusiastic than the other staff members. I will say my waitress was very busy and seemed to have more tables to service than necessary but she was very well accomodating.
In from dallas. Last minute dinner. Everything was great.
Service not as good as in the past
A convenient place for dinner but I thought the portions were very small for the price and our server (although pleasant) did not refill our water or bring us dessert menus. The warm bread was excellent, however.
Grafton is a favorite spot. Always welcoming.
Enjoy the choices of wine by the glass.
Michael was a very nice waiter. My friend arrived 15 minutes late, and he was very solicitous of me! We both had the Niçoise salad, and it was as good a one as if had in a long time. When the kitchen forgot to put on the olives - an oversight, I’m sure! - Michael brought each of us out a little container with the "missing" olives. Delicious!
This restaurant has potential. The patio is exceptional and the wait staff was friendly. The food was average. The Charcueterie board and cheese board were disappointing. The cheese board had three types of cheese and we were given 1 cubic inch pieces. The burger was a good size and the ravioli was actually amazing. The ambience inside is nice but extremely loud, so the patio is the way to go for quiet conversations. Beef up the appetizers and make your burgers stand out and this will become a gem
While the food in general and the cocktails are ok could the cooks p,ease change the fry oil?? The French fries and other things deep fried come out brown and over cooked sign of old cooking /fry oil.
Service was very good did not wait long for meal.
I liked grafton when I was here for dinner. Went for brunch, all three of us felt the meal was lacking. No wonder it's packed at dinner time and pretty empty at brunch
Heard a lot of good things about Grafton Street Pub and Grill, so decided to check it out during dine out week because the menu sounded really good only to be disappointed that on a Friday night they were out of one of two apps and one of two desserts. That's horrible, non-existing planning on the restaurant's part for sure and a disappointing dining experience. If dine out week is meant to entice people to come again, the restaurant definitely missed the mark. The food was okay and nothing to write home about. We left wondering why so many people seem to like it (haven't been to better places?) and really not planning to return for more.
I started with the beet salad which was great but really small for $12. I then ordered the plantain encrusted mahi mahi, which was outstanding, especially the rum sauce. For dessert we got a blondie brownie sundae and the blackberry peach cobbler, both of which I tried. The cobbler was pretty good, but the brownie tasted kind of powdery and chalky. I would not order it again. For wine, I got the moscato. Tasted like an actual grape, really crisp and sweet. Overall very satisfied with my meal.
The food was good but l have to say that the chicken wings were very spicy and that was not mentioned in the menu. If that could be mentioned, it would be great. Otherwise, everything else was good. The service was the best and the ambiance was relaxing. All in all a restaurant l would recommend.
We went for the Dine Out menu. They had ran out of the app I wanted. The Mahi Mahi was a tiny piece dry and bland. The dessert was... ok.
We’ve been there before and the food was better. If you’re going to offer a discounted menu don’t skimp just because you want to make a profit. It lowers the overall level and impression of the restaurant.
Great lunch. Bad fries though. Very good dinners with a variety of choices. Good location. Absolutely the best, spiciest jalapeño infused vodka that I have ever had. It will wake you up.
Calamari was super fresh if a little greasy! Generous portions.
My 2nd dining experience there and was just as bad as the first time. Took 5-10 minutes to get water to the table. 10 minutes to get our drink order although we were near the bar. Ordered appetizers and table was not cleared when our meal arrived 10 minutes later that we were holding the plates while the meal was set on the table. After dinner ended our waiter who was semi attentive throughout the night walked by 5 times (each time looking at the table) before finally stopping after we flagged him down on his 6th walk by attempt. Our check came within 5 mins and it took another 3 minutes for him to bring the change back. He is very lucky that my date will still give the 20% after I pleaded with him for the poor service we were provided. I will think hard on whether we want to dine here again.
Good experience. Nice sports bar. Eggs Benedict were very good. Pancakes were good also. Would definitely go back.
Great service with average food. Fun ambiance with large TV screens to watch live sports.
