Went there to celebrate my anniversary and was not disappointed. The food was great and the drinks were very good. The staff made our celebration special. Thank you Butcher and Singer.
Outstanding and uncommon. Thank you
Steak were very tough and chewy not worth their prices
Seating can be difficult if you expect a business dinner to talk. Long table setups are used not round tables. Food and drinks were excellent.
Steaks cooked perfect. Cocktails perfect. Coffee perfect. Perfect meal as usual. Favorite steak restaurant
Loved the atmosphere, food and our waiter Jarrod. Cocktails were terrific too. Get a booth if you can. Ideal experience.
Food was delicious! Everything was just perfect!
Get the pork chop cooked through. Medium+ isn’t medium plus...
a little noisy but food was very good for dinner....waiter was knowledgable
Excellent meal, delicious drinks and very attentive service!
They forgot it was my birthday, and sat us right next to the dish shelf, so we'd periodically be disrupted by the sound of clanking glass just inches from us (separated by a glass window). The service was Ok, but we often felt forgotten. The food was overpriced for what it was. The 52 dollar porterhouse was tough and hard to eat... but I was too hungry to wait for our server to orbit past us. It was still a lovely night, but the value did not match the pricetag.
Overall the experience was ok. A little drafty....ordered the lamb and veal. Both had a bland taste. Sever was great!
Best steak ever! Baked Alaska was incredible. Waiter was the best.
We went to Butcher & Singer for my boyfriends birthday. The service was outstanding, waitstaff was knowledgeable and friendly. Aside from an issue in the bathrooms with no running water in the beginning of the night we had an enjoyable evening. We would definitely go back.
Haven’t been to Butcher & Singer for about 3 years. Still an excellent steakhouse but also excellent seafood offered here. A bit pricey, but as prime steakhouses in the city are all about the same price, you know going in what it will be.
The Caesar salad with anchovies if desired is outstanding but the stuffed hash browns are to die for!
Continually the only restaurant that we know will absolutely be spot on 100% of the time on every single visit. The best steak in Philadelphia!
We have found our favorite steak house. I almost don’t want to tell anyone! The food, ambiance, cocktails and service are all exceptional. Wonderful evening
I was late for my reservation, the hostess gave my table away to a couple who didn't have a reservation
By far the best steakhouse in the area. The selection, atmosphere, food, & service were outstanding. The only downfall is the that it is very expensive.
Great place! Food, Service, and Ambiance was top notch! I will definitely visit again with family!
Great place to get a steak in Philadelphia! Our waiter, Chris was superb! The filet was grilled to perfection and the Baked Alaska was orgasmic!!! A great night to spend our Anniversary!
Close to the best steak I have had, service was great all around , and easy pretheater experience ( not rushed)
This meal was worth every penny. The service was outstanding! I had the best steak I ever tasted. Our drinks were never empty and we had a great time! I would definitely come to Butcher and Singer again.
Service was amazing, food was perfect and atmosphere was perfect. Great place.
AMAZING! After a slight food allergy problem during our last visit, Beth (the general manager) reached out to us to assure us we would be fine this time. She was right! From the moment we walked through the door, she, our waitress Amy, and all of the staff made sure our 25th wedding anniversary dinner was memorable for all the right reasons. We can’t stop talking about it to friends!! Thank you for being so attentive to my gluten allergy and treating us like royalty. We will most definitely be back!
Very good food and excellent service. I always like Butcher & Singer.
This was excellent all around, except for the hostess who was rude and unaccommodating when we asked about sitting at another table. We were there at 5:15 and the booths we asked about stayed open the majority of time we were at the restaurant.
Besides the hostess, the servers were outstanding and the food was delicious.
Continues to impress me time in and time. Far and away my favorite restaurant, this is coming from a steak purist.
Amazing first time experience
Good was absolutely marvelous
Environment is calm, soothing and welcoming
Stellar evening celebrating our son’s birthday in a wonderfully festive atmosphere! The GM, Elizabeth Henderson, is a gem! She made certain that our experience was an absolute delight! Shellfish tower, steaks, swordfish and all sides were mouthwateringly delicious. Key lime pie, ice cream and the baked Alaska where off the charts decedent! Our waiter, Zack, was the best! Thank you for a fabulous night!
Great ambience, the girlfriend loved it.?
This is probably my favorite restaurant in the city. Every time we’ve been here it’s been amazing. We went here this time to celebrate my birthday and enjoyed the seafood platter and the tomahawk ribeye. Everything was super delicious. The staff were very friendly and the service was impeccable.
our server, Brandy, was a delight; otherwise, food service was painfully slow and the presentation severely lacking; the restaurant was hot, crowded and very noisy; a terrible experience at a venue where the experience was (justifiably, given the cost) expected to be first rate
the manager's 'answer" was to leave his business card at our table...seriously???
Our server was great. Very knowledgeable and helpful. We were looking forward to the meal as the feedback on the food was very good. However our food was underwhelming. Our party all ordered the same steaks, all ordered medium. 2 of three needed to be sent back as they weren't cooked to specifications. Half of one of those steaks was inedible due to it being just gristle. One was extra rare in the middle, borderline raw. Each ordered the truffle butter that was supposed to melt into the steak....not quite. The crabcake appetizer was very good. The raw clams were disappointing. The bacon side was the biggest hit. If not for the service the review would have been lower. Perhaps expectations were too high but the likelihood of a return visit is low.
Exceptional food, service and ambiance
It was our anniversary and they even sent us a complimentary dessert
I would definitely recommend this place. Food was very good, but not knock your socks off. The venue is noisy because of lots of hard surfaces, but that fits is local and history. What makes the restaurant is the exceptional service.
Wonderful experience. I had the steak tartar and the veal chop and they were both absolutely phenomenal. The wine list was also very good and I was able to get one of my favorites (Two Hands Gnarly Dudes) for a good price. The service was also top notch with a very knowledgeable staff, and the decor is stunning. I will definitely be visiting again next time I'm in town to try the porterhouse out.
The service was absolutely wonderful! We got there earlier then our reservation because we wanted to leave time to find parking and they were able to seat us earlier - no questions asked! Our waiter was amazing in explaining the menu and how everything was going to come out, he also gave us some excellent tips as well! We have already recommended Butcher and Singer to a lot of our friends and coworkers!
