A great place to celebrate any occasion with a top notch steak dinner. The service was friendly and attentive. The wine list was decent and over priced even for New York.

A perfect way to celebrate. The service at American Cut was the best. We will be back for sure. My favorite was the juicy well done steak. Some restaurants serve the meat dry when you order well done but the chef here keeps the steak juicy.

The service was excellent but the food was terrible. Steaks were not delicious at all. I came back the 2nd time for my husband’s bday because my first experience was amazing however I’m very disappointed. Never going back

Came her for my husbands birthday. The lobster chili was very good but worth the almost 40 dollar price point? Not really. Its just 4 tiny pieces of lobster and a small amount of good bisque. The steaks were okay, nothing mind blowing. The NY strip had little hard fat pieces for some reason. Both steaks were burnt on the top so when you ate it theres a weird bitter taste in some bites. The jalapeño mashed potatoes are a literal nightmare. Its pureed potatoes that are very very goopy, really not mashes potatoes consistency, that are blended with a reduction of jalapeño skins. Its that awful green color and they taste like grass. Just spicy grass goop. The lobster mac and cheese was the only redeeming factor. I actually enjoyed it but again not something to write home about. We literally couldn’t finish the food and just asked for the check to leave. I got a cocktail (forgot the name of) and my husband got a beer, both were dine. Service was fine. Overall very underwhelming and for the price point I would’ve expected at least good food. We’ve been to better steakhouses with exceptional food, cocktails, service, and desserts. In my humble opinion, this place is a skip for me.

My husband and I had dinner here for Valentine’s Day. The ambiance was beautiful, our server was amazing and very tentative. The drinks were good. The food was amazing, wish my husbands steak had a little more flavor but everything else was Great including the Lobster Mac. Highly recommend

Took forever to order and we didn’t even get our menus until we asked. Then it took forever to get the food. But the second we put that last bite in our mouths it was as if we were ready to go. Then the server quickly asks if we want dessert and when we said no he enthusiastically brings the check right away. We were still chatting on our second round of drinks and they decided to clear all our silverware and clean the table as if we had gotten up and paid - at this point I hadnt. We felt so rushed the entire time and we aren’t even slow eaters. It felt they just wanted to turn the table the second we put in our order. For a supposed nice place, this was not a nice experience.

I love this place. But waiters should be more aware of food sensitivity and how food is prepared. My partner, gluten and lactose intolerant, had a big episode the night we dined there. I believe something must have had dairy or gluten. Cross contamination is ok in his case, but either the gluten free bread had gluten or the meat had dairy…it was delicious regardless, but still. Not worth going again if this may happen again.

I've been to American Cut multiple times, usually return because the food is pretty good, and have recommended it to many friends. However, this visit I had the filet which was surprisingly under seasoned. Very disappointing. My friends NY Strip was also under seasoned. The hostess came by to ask if the food was good and I said our steaks were under seasoned. She said she would notify the kitchen but Never offered to bring us something else. Surprising at this price point.

Had a few ok meals here, but this time everything was perfect. The food, wine and dessert were all scrumptious. My steak was cooked exactly as ordered. The restaurant has a grand art deco feel and the seating is very comfortable. The waiters and staff were all very pleasant and accommodating. Will definitely put this back on the monthly rotation!

I was a little nervous when we walked in, since it wasn’t very crowded. I was wrong. Everything was fantastic. Amazing service, amazing food. Very cool tableside prep with the tomahawak. Get the chili lobster and the smoked wagyu. Have your camera ready! I’ll be telling all my friends to go here.

We chose American Cut as a fancy dinner to celebrate my sister getting engaged. Our reservation was for 8pm and we didn't get seated until about 9:15-- during the wait we were allowed to sit in the bar area which was extremely noisy with lots of happy hour bros (seriously, not a woman in sight lol) but they were kind enough to comp us our first round of drinks while we waited. Once seated in the dining room the noise level was much more tolerable. They brought out some everything bagel biscuits with a delicious butter and they were so good we requested another round. We ordered steaks which were pretty good. I ordered the best mashed potatoes of my life (I think called pureed potatoes Robuchon on the menu) and everyone else was really pleased with their sides as well. We were also given the steak tartare appetizer for free which was great and at the end we were given a salted caramel dessert for free even though we declined dessert menus. All in all, we were there for 3.5 hours which was way longer than we expected but the restaurant was extremely generous with making it worth our while with little freebies and also all the food we ordered was very good. It's also located only about a block from T Swift's Tribeca apartment in case that sort of thing matters to you!

Outstanding food and the service was great but it was busy. Still, the steaks and side dishes were well worth it. Definitely a return visit in the future.

My two best friends treated me for my 53rd Birthday and from the time I walked into the restaurant the Manager Emma, our Server Adrien and other staff assistance Manny was so nice, friendly and attentive. The appetizers, entrees, cocktails and dessert was EXCELLENT. My first time dining at American Cut and I had a AMAZING TIME.

I got the dry aged bone in ribeye and it was a run a mill steak I feel I could of got anywhere and definitely not worth the 70 something dollars it cost. The menu was not very diverse in options if your someone that likes to have a lot to choose from. Overall the food and options for the prices are very poor value.

Reserved for restaurant week, but after ordering drinks was told they only participated the first week. So we ordered from reg menu. A couple sat next to us land was told the same thing about the restaurant week except their waiter said he would honor it. Not a great or experience. Many better choices in the city. And no bate and switch at other restaurant week venues. Left a bad taste in my mouth. We won’t be back.

First time. Tried for restaurant week and menu. Steak met expectations but salmon and dessert did not. Air conditioning was not working (during heat wave) so room was uncomfortable warm (they were working on it but could not get it going). Really enjoyed staff. Very attentive.

10/10 from the service to the food. Place is very nice, great spot for a date or celebration. Food is amazing, got the NY strip cooked to perfection. Last but not least the sides. MUST HAVE THE JALAPEÑO MASHED, they are to die for.
