    I'm surprised that the Garage Margarita is from a tap and not made fresh......good and quick but it needed a bit more love with a simple shaker to get the temp right. Service is always good.

    The food and vibe of the place is amazing! We sat on the patio and experienced perfect patio weather. Our waiter, Leslie, was amazing and attentive. And I can’t forget about the mimosas!!!!! Take your girls or boo for brunch!!

    I made a reservation for brunch for my birthday for six. The server was an older man. There was a bit of a language barrier but that wasn’t the problem as were perfectly happy to order and respond in Spanish if needed. It took a bit to get him back for our entree orders after appetizers and he really seemed like he couldn’t be bothered with much. The menu said huevos rancheros came with tortillas but I had to ask for them twice after my meal came. He wandered off and started refilling other guests’ waters instead of getting them the first time. When I questioned the charge for tortillas on the total he told me it only comes with the decorative tortillas under the eggs. I’ve never before seen huevos rancheros not served with tortillas but now I know I guess. Before I could finish reviewing the ticket he took my card out of my hand and tapped it to pay. I was surprised by the total but could no longer see the items. I tipped and asked for my printed receipt after. He badgered me about whether or not I requested it to be printed - I never saw the option, I think he took the device from my before I could select it. The printed receipt is where I finally found out about the large party gratuity and I definitely would’ve adjusted my tip if I had known. It wasn’t disclosed at the reservation, when being seated, or by the server who also did not let me finish reviewing the ticket. At no point was a large party gratuity mentioned but I’m guessing I missed it on the menu while chatting with my guests. I’d also followed the QR code on the table to sign up for rewards but the server wouldn’t scan it. I feel the real issue was our server, so we’ll try one more time just because this place is convenient, but it was embarrassing that I brought my guests here to go through that. Based on the experience with the sever alone, I wouldn’t come back or recommend it.

    Very fun place to celebrate a friend's birthday! The ceviche was the best I've ever had, very fresh and I love that they serve it with plantain chips. Good margaritas and salsas too. One thing to be aware of: For a party of six they tacked on a 18% tip. The waitress told one person but no one else heard her. She got a 38% tip from me and probably the same from my friends. I understand including the tip for bigger groups but we weren't shown a ticket, only handed the little scanner to add the tip. The service was better than expected after some of the reviews I saw but it did lag after we got our food. We finally had to flag her down to get more drinks. Overall, a 4.5 and I will definitely go back!

    Absolutely will be going back for more! We arrived earlier than our reservation and was still able to be seated right away with no wait and the place was pretty full. Server was awesome and very friendly. Food was excellent and the kids even got free ice cream cones. Good for family outing or even a date night.

    I was disappointed in our meals because they seemed overcooked. We had the Camarones a la Parrila and the rotisserie chicken. The shrimp was overcooked kinda dry, no cheese, and the bacon around it was really really crispy almost to the point of being burnt. My rotisserie chicken was very dry. The highlight was the corn that was served with the chicken and the charro beans which were very tasty. The enchiladas our friends had were tasty and the burrito was good too.

    Pros: It was decorated beautifully for Valentine's Day and we were seated promptly upon arrival. Cons: Server hardly ever checked on us. Food tasted good, but was lukewarm.

    After being seated we were basically looked over by servers. A table came in and was serviced before we were. The manager on shift didn’t even care and said it was ok if left. It’s not ok to be in the service industry and be treated the way we were. We eventually left and went somewhere else. We will not be returning to this poor establishment.

    Food is good quality and value fir the price Excellent service Difficult to hear conversations at table I like variety of margaritas on offer, however a bit more generous portion of tequila would encourage me to consider ordering one during my next visit

    Everything was great for our Christmas Lunch at your place. My only complaint would be the noise level was a little loud and your carrot cake has a weird taste/spice to it. No one liked it at the table and took it home to my husband without saying a word about it and he even said it had a weird spice taste to it. But the tres lecehs is soooo good! thanks

    Went for a birthday celebration. It was so loud in there you couldn’t hear the person next to you. Food ok. Not anything outstanding just ok. I guess waitress Martha figured a table of ladies wouldn’t tip well so we had poor service. Such a disappointment after reading other reviews.

    I came for my birthday and I can’t wait to come back! The food was delicious. The decor and overall feel of the place was great. The service was on point. The pricing for my food and drinks were reasonable and I really enjoyed myself. If you’re looking for a cure date night spot or brunch with your girls, that’s the place to go.

    Very loud. I was ok (just ok) with it but my husband is not a big fan of a crowded atmosphere and the noise made it a bit worse for his anxiety. Price was good, mimosas were delicious, service took a while to attend us but it was a good place to visit for a special occasion.

    First time visitor to Valencia's Tex-Mex Garage - Oak Forest. Drawn in by Houston Restaurant Weeks participation. Atmosphere was clean and fresh. Very appealing. Great, hot food. Mole Chicken was super. Service was mostly good. Main server provided good recommendations. Service lapsed a bit midway. Had to ask for an iced tea refill and more red sauce. Other workers stepped in to clear dishes from table. Overall, super experience. Will definitely be back.

    I really had high hopes for this spot. The service was very poor. Had to flag down server each time. Drinks ordered that were never brought. Two bowls of pozole each with silverware found in bottom of bowl. Server never came back after food was brought. Had to correct checks for drinks not brought. Very dissatisfied.

    We arrived at 2pm and were told that we had to wait because they were overbooked. After 40mins we were finally seated but service was extremely slow. Great ambiance and drink value; but food is mediocre at best. Definitely not worth the 40min wait with a reservation.
