Homer Street Cafe & Bar
Housed in two of Vancouver’s most iconic buildings, Homer St Cafe and Bar is a contemporary restaurant set in the historic Homer Building and new Beasley building in Vancouver’s Yaletown district.
Classic comfort cooking takes center stage thanks to a fire engine red rotisserie that roasts all manner of proteins. It’s chicken that’s the star here: served in quarter, half or whole portions, accompanied by classic sides basted in jus.
A decidedly adventurous wine and cocktail list rounds out the menu. The restaurant features two spaces that consist of an open concept kitchen “Chef’s Bar” where one can get up close and personal with the culinary team, a semi private dining room with reclaimed factory windows, and bespoke seating complemented by antique tiling.

I wish they could include a veggie side dish for brunch/lunch, I feel that some dishes do not have enough vegetables, vegetables are easy to cook but they are not flexible, they cannot substitute for example potatoes with veggies, so the best is consider a veggie side dish for those who wish to have more veggies during brunch /lunch.
Always a pleasant experience. So glad to have this place in our neighbourhood.
The rotisserie chicken is still my favourite.
Great little chef's 'table' (bar really)
I have never gone for brunch......and, it was outstanding!
A delicious Saturday brunch with the family.
Try to chicken Gorgonzola pasta! Such amazing flavours!
We wil be back.
Great food and service...legendary roast chicken. Nice wine list. Love the private room too
Service was slow
Always liked Homer St; had not been for a year, but the noise level now is intolerable, in no small part owing to the loud, meaningless, stupid music that contributes nothing to the experience of dining there. So we will not be back.
Waitress Julie was great, house wine and the Mimosa were not so good, maybe oxidized. Food very good
We had a lovely time and the late evening happy hour options were fantastic!!!
We had a great time! Awesome food - fresh and well made. Great server - attentive and informed. Love the room - warm and fun. Loud but not too loud you have to yell. Awesome pulled chicken. Superb raspberry cheesecake dessert.
Food at the Homer Street cafe was very good with a wide selection for meat lovers and vegetarians. Atmosphere was casual and comfortable
Great food, as always, but found the staff to be a bit inattentive on this visit and the greeter to be a bit "rude" and unhelpful. This is a great coaching opportunity for management to educate their staff.
Wonderful, as usual. Great food, awesome (attentive without being overbearing) service and lively vibe.
Great and varied menu, food all very well cooked and presented. The rooms are beautiful, well decorated without getting generic or excessively quirky, just smart and tasteful. The wine list by the glass isn’t very interesting - too many insipid BC wines for my taste, not enough unusual ones to match the well considered menu - but cocktails are a solid mix of original and classic. We had scallops with trout roe, and striploin. Both beautiful, pretty on their elongated oval plates, and deliciously seasoned.
The chicken with gorgonzola and pasta didn't taste gorgonzola and was quite dry.
Desserts were delicious.
Went there to catch up with an old friend. The service was great and approachable, the omelette just melted in my mouth and I was definitely full by the end.
Second visit and the chicken is as great as we remembered. Tender moist tasty. St Hubert done right as fine dining!! Dr. says have a veggie too (not just the admittedly good cole slaw) so tried the broccoli with chickpeas. Interesting but successfully so. The plat du jour was a rotisserie sirloin though. Absolutely marvelous. Crispy outer pink middle tender not dry. Even the chicken lover declared it a hit.
Staff are attentive and engaging without being annoying. House cocktails are inventive, some are a bit potent though. Sip slowly.
Perfect spot for a weekend brunch. Loved that I could make a reservation. Friendly service and delicious food. Try the Benny and save room for the peanut butter cookies with Nutella cream!
One of my favourite places to eat in the city! Great service and even better food! Love love love the happy hour menu and the daily specials!
enjoyed our meal. Four guys before going to VIFF movie. Waiter and kitchen accommodated one guests request for hamburger off lunch menu. Much appreciated. First drinks were a bit slow to table; otherwise a very pleasant time.
I like the ambience of this building, the staff is lovely and the food is delicious -- what more can one ask for a night out in Vancouver?
Lovely restaurant with nice architectural detail, good food and great service! Quaint outdoor patio. Just a couple of blocks from the hub of downtown Granville area. Reasonable parking one block over on Richards street.
Never disappointed at this restaurant however many of the seats are very cozy. Recommend the maple pork belly. Good portion sizes friendly staff
I have an anaphylactic food allergy, and the wait and kitchen staff were respectful and very careful with my order, answering my questions patiently. Much appreciated!
Really lovely staff, who worked as a team. Each person you passed greeted you and acknowledged you as you left the restaurant.
Food was delicious, fast and well priced. Service was prompt and professional.
Informal family brunch for Thanksgiving recommended by our son. Good eats, great company, good server and really enjoyed the ambiance. Will be back soon! Thank you.
I would eat at the Homer Café every night of the weak if I could.
it is my favorite place in Vancouver. The food is always excellent and the service is consistent.
Just wish they had a more adventuresome beer menu.
Thought the basic brunch lacked creativity... two poached eggs, a sausage, piece of Pork Belly..... side salad. That was it.... no sauces, no flair. Waitress forgot the toast... not necessary, but with such a bland presentation could have had all the help it could get. Partner had a burger.... nothing special. I'm sure that they had better options..... just poor choices from us.
Excellent menu with a nice variety of snacks & appetizers.
The service was exemplary.
A bit on the noisy side but the comfort level definitely compensated.
Will certainly return !!!
The specialty of the house, rotisserie chicken, was dry and served with about 10 small potatoes and the tiniest bowl of cole slaw. I ordered the smoked fish croquettes to start which were quite greasy. Very under impressed with the quality of the food. I've eaten here before and the food was decent but doubt very much that I would try again.
Two friends and I had dinner pre-theatre and it was my first visit there. Our server was excellent and cognizant of our time constraints . Food was excellent. I'll definitely go back often.
Amazing food, service and impressive room. Loved everything.
A few weeks ago, I attended the Homer St Cafe for a work event and the food and service was great. So yesterday I wanted to take my husband and some friends there to share the experience with them. Unfortunately, the service was terrible. After we were seated, we waited over 10 minutes for the waitress to take our drink order. Throughout the night, there was a significant delay between the time we finished our drinks and when we were asked if we wanted something else. The food also took quite a while to come out. Other service issues also included the fact that the waitress took a friends dessert drink order but not our dessert order at the same time, so the drinks came out before the dessert. The dessert drinks and dessert should have come out at the same time. We were seated at 5:20 p.m. and did not leave the restaurant until almost 9 p.m. We were late to attend a friend's event.
All good great ambiance reasonable valve
Well above average servce, excellent quality food. Would like to see some more lunch options but that's not really a complaint more of a suggestion
Packed and noisy, not a good venue for a quiet supper. Mediocre service, gave us the wrong wine when we ordered a second glass, average food, and expensive for what we had - just not a great restaurant when there is so much local competition.
Excellent steak - best we have ever tasted! My Mother and I are visiting from England and I noticed Homer Street whilst on a bus tour of the city. We were looking forward to the rotisserie chicken only to find everyone had ordered it before us and it had all gone! (There were more chickens on the spit!) That was a blessing in disguise as the steak was delicious. Service was excellent and waitress’ Knowledge of the wine was very good. Only downside was sitting next to a loud English girl who thought we all wanted to hear her life stories!
We had a wonderful meal. The roasted chicken was delicious. We shared a chicken for 4 people plus a couple of sides and it was plenty and very reasonably priced.
I felt the noise level was great! Waitress wasnt always tentive to listening to customers orders. Your food was mediorcor. When you pay $22 for a chicken dinner i expect some taste. Coleslaw was oversized and hard to chew. Potaoes tasteless. Over cooked pork! All in all not worth returning for🙁
I had made a reservation through open table for 2pm- the hosts seemed confused when I got to their stand. Weren’t sure where to seat me. Waited at the bar until 2:20 to be seated. Service was okay. Not very present, maybe I as too busy. They forgot my friends salad and had ran out of a few items. Coffee was delicious though.
Heard great things about homer street cafe so was so excited to try it- but it fell flat for me.
