Amsterdam Brewhouse & Restaurant
The best pretzel in the City. Food is always great along with the service and beer. Did I mention the view?
Server very friendly, tasty wings
Our server was amazing, service was fast and food was good. We had 2 tables for a total of 13 people of which 8 were kids. That is a challenge for anyone. Our server handled it amazingly!! Great job, great place, just wish I remembered her name.
Food is overpriced and was not cooked properly at all. Raw dough for the pizza I ordered and under seasoned and bland burger my friend had. Unfortunate.
My parents came to Toronto for the first time from Brazil. First restaurant i took them.
Great place to go for food and excellent beer. Service was fantastic - thank you Jamie - and the fish & chips was wonderful.
So many choices of beer and I really appreciated that our server took the time to explain them all to us.
Right by the water so nice to have a seat outside if possible
We were given a table where we got squeezed. There was an empty table with more room but the hosting gentleman said it was reserved. How comes? I also had a reservation, why don't you switch them since I was already there? For that reason our quests from Hague did not feel comfortable.
Afternoon lunch and drinks on a beautiful sunny Wednesday at Amsterdam! The view was stunning. The beer was cold and the food was excellent. Our group of 6 only waited a few minutes to get a table outdoors. We ordered chopped salad, pizza, hamburgers, and brisket burger. Not one complaint!
Very attentive staff but didn’t know about Health Canada’s neurotoxicity of west coast oysters. Oysters were on display at the bar. Management should keep staff advised.
We were entertaining three teenage guests from Israel. They arrived that evening, and were hungry teens. One meal came over 10 minutes late, and we all waited while our food got cold. Our server brought the manager over who offered no apology, and no reimbursement. He seemed annoyed we were upset as by then the food had come. I walked into the kitchen to place the food order myself as our server had disappeared once she brougth 5/6 meals. One of our guests had a birthday that night. I mentioned this on the open table booking, and to the hostess when we were seated. No cake came, and to be honest we just wanted to leave the restaurant and had lost all faith in the Amsterdam's ability to provide proper guest service. We bought a cake on our way home, suprised him ourselves. This is some of the worst service I have ever had.
Very nice staff. The food was good but the air conditioning was pointing to our table and it got cold immediately. Nice overall experience
way too hot to eat inside, very noisy, we asked for a glass of water 3 times ,we received our water at the end of the meal, i advise you to wait in line outside for the terrace because they do not take reservations, good beer.
The place is nice, but main dishes came out before the appetizers and some of the meals were cold. Not surprising because of how big the place is and how many people they serve. Always an inconsistent experience when I come here
Loved the food, drinks and atmosphere! Would definitely go back
The Service was arrogant and not interested in the customer. The food was okay but for that quality it was to expansive. Sorry, but the Service was so unfriendly and a little bit agressive. For us it was very difficult to understand him but the do nothing to speak clearly and louder.
Beautiful location right on the waterfront, excellent atmosphere and a killer patio....what more could you ask for?? How about amazing food.....yeah they have that too. Definitely making Amsterdam Brewhouse a hotspot to visit when I’m in the neighbourhood.
Great atmosphere. Accommodating and wonderful service. Food was great also.
I had a great meal and the service was great. On our reservation we did request a table outside, and when we arrived we were told that we had to check-in inside and they don’t take reservations for the patio. So we went inside to ask and they said we could wait in the patio line up for a table. However there were at least 10-15 people in the patio line up and pretty much all of the tables were available, so we didn’t want to risk being in a line that didn’t take reservations, and weren’t seating any tables with almost an empty patio.
Best fish & chips in the GTA.
We did have a slight issue but the server & manager were on it immediately. Would highly recommend the restaurant.
We’ve been here several times, everything was perfect except for the fries. Party of four ordered two burgers and two fish & chips. Burgers was excellent and fish was as crispy and delicious as I recall them to be. The fries were cold with no crisp which was disappointing. Didn’t mention it to the waitress as I didn’t want to ruin the mood.
Everything else was perfect, we sat upstairs on the deck on a gorgeous afternoon with friends.
Great experience. Disappointed that we didn’t get the high top seating we reserved (private party), but otherwise great.
Food was great. They were out of stock on the Raspberry wheat ale which I was planning to have. Service was a little slow. The place was very busy. We got a nice table by the lake.
wish we were able to get to the patio and it was a bit warm inside the restaurant
My server was excellent! The only issue I had was in my reservation I requested outdoor patio seating. When I arrived I was not asked if I wanted to be seated inside or outside. After I was seated inside and I said my preference was for the patio I was told I would have to go back downstairs and ask at one of the patio entrances.
Patrons who are not regulars don't know there are multiple entrances.
I think the restaurant should train their hosts on asking where a customer would like to be seated...every other restaurant does.
Other than that the food was great, service by our server was awesome and timing was good.
We came here for a team dinner. The atmosphere and views were perfect. Wasn't a long wait for patio seating. Food and drinks were good and our server took great care of us. What more could we ask for?!
The only thing I thought was cheap of them is that you pay $4 to upgrade your fries to poutine and then they give you half the amount of fries that was supposed to come with your burger...my friend had the same thing I did and she had a lot of fries and my extra $4 got me a tiny bowl of fries with a little gravy and cheese curds in it...felt kind of ripped off!
Fist time in Toronto. Great food, great beer
No air conditioning on a very hot day. My reserved table for six had two vinyl bench seats making an already sweaty day worse.
Overall good but seemed to be a bit understaffed . Took too long to take older. Also a bit too noisy. Good food.
Great atmosphere. Food was good.
Our drink order got messed up so we waited 20 minutes for a drink. Our food order was slow and our mains were served before our appetizers. Not much of an apology either. Food was pretty good but overall it was a frustrating experience.
A big open space, lively atmosphere, and interesting beer selection.
Great for get togethers and dates. Menu is decent for a beer oriented restaurant
I live close by so have been to this restaurant on several occasions. The food is consistently terrible. I have tried a wide variety of items trying to find something that isn’t over cooked. Hamburgers are hockey pucks, brisket on two occasions was really bad, wings are dry, pizza uses too much sauce and cheap cheese sparingly applied. The restaurant itself is nice and the patio lovely. I guess if you only go for the decor and beer then this restaurant will be ok.
More shade and maybe adding bigger or more umbrellas will make the patio experience better in the summer heat.
Our server was excellent. Food normal from previous visits
We waited for about an hour for our food and it arrived cold, was also overpriced. not enough servers, took too long to take our orders and bills at the end ~ overall bad experience.
Food was ok, but service was terrible.
Had at least four different waiters throughout the evening and all of them seemed like they could care less about anything related to their job.
One waiter was scratching his stomach under his shirt while listening to us order exposing his bare stomach!? Another was telling us how hungover he was.
Food kept coming that we hadn’t ordered and the wait staff seemed to be in total chaos.
Had to ask repeatedly to order drinks etc. and a few mix ups with the bill.
Nice view but thats about it.
I was disappointed that I reserved a table upstairs and when I arrived was told that this could not be accommodated. We ended up with a table downstairs near the side patio door.
The food was fine, 4 out of our table of 6 enjoyed their meal. Vegetables with the schnitzel were bitter tasting. Sangria had way too much ice and after a few minutes was watered down most likely because it was a very warm evening. Location of restaurant was perfect and the view of the waterfront was beautiful. Music was a bit loud. With the restaurant so busy, huge crown we were unable to hear conversations at our table unless it was the person next to you.
I will return but doubtful it will be on a Saturday night.
Great food, great place. But the waitstaff is the most incompetent I've ever seen.
