We visited for quiet birthday dinner recently and were pleasantly surprised with V's. We were expecting a typical restaurant with typical meals and service, but the staff knows what they are doing. We were greeted immediately and the gentleman (probably the owner) had saved a very cozy table by the front window. The waiter was very attentive and informative. Our appetizers and meal arrived in a timely manner and were very flavorful and the amount was certainly enough to feel full and satisfied. We were quite surprised when the waiter informed us that our dessert had been complimentary, due to the special occasion we were celebrating. This was very thoughtful of them! The only thing that we didn't enjoy was the loud group of people sitting right behind us. They were a little disruptive and would burst into loud conversation and cackling laughter throughout the evening, which took away from the restaurant's ambiance and tranquil feel. It made it hard for us to hear one another sitting just across from one another. However I don't fault the restaurant for their behavior it's just one of those things you might expect when some people have a little too much wine. We will definitely be back to V's (and not just for a special occasion). The staff and delicious dinner certainly won us over. Thanks!

V's is stylish and fun , the food is excellent and not overly priced. The service is great. It is consistent and reliable. We always get good food, nice wine, and great service for a reasonable cost.

The old Allegria has been remodeled and the food and service were good. Some elements could use a slight improvement such as the bread and chopped salad. The Margherita Pizza was very tasty and the fried mushrooms were delicious. If you don't have a pizza or pasta, you are in for an expensive evening, but the ambiance, service and food were certainly worthy of a return visit.

One of the people in our party didn't like their food. What was read on the menu didn't match what was brought out. The plate was barely touched, we let our waitress know and nothing was done. We won't be returning.

Not only is the food amazing and the drinks unique, but the main thing that sets V's apart is their service. From the owners to the wait staff to the chef, everyone is friendly, approachable and energetic. V's has become our weekend hangout and we have taken everyone we know. We love V's and look forward to visiting and chatting away while we enjoy the succulent dishes.

V's has easily become our favorite restaurant in Malibu. The owners Vassil and Yoshi are so welcoming, every time we arrive we are warmly greeted and feel like we are guests at their home. The food and drink are always great, there are often new items and specials that never disappoint. The decor is modern, and the overall environment is an extension of the casual, friendly vibe. If you haven't tried, i highly recommend.

For our Valentines Day dinner we both ordered a great appetizer with the foe-gras and peaches. Delicious! But both of our entrees were dissapointments. The short ribs, though tender and moist, had no layers of flavor. The chicken with truffled leeks also lacked any imagination in flavor. For dessert, my wife had a lovely chocolate tort but my berry crumble needed more crumble. It was a sweet fruit soup. Pleasant service. Great looking wine list. But overall a disappointment. I wont be going back.

We were so happy to find V's in Malibu. I would recommend this wonderful restaurant to anyone. We knew we were some place special when were greeted at the door by the owner. From that first warm and friendly greeting all the way to the end of the night we were taken very good care. The food and wine were excellent! The atmosphere is simple and sophisticated, and the dining room is quiet enough that you can actually have a conversation with your party. We are definitely going back again and again; all in our party agreed!

Took the GF for New Year's Eve dinner. Comfortable, cozy atmoshpehere and outstanding service by an attentive staff. Was made to feel very welcome (which is somewhat lacking in most LA restaurants). Food is just so-so. The filet was well prepared, but the Bordelaise reduction was very slight and had a bitterness to it kept the steak from being worthy of the price. Ceasar salad was excellent however. Here's a first - they ran of table bread during the evening. Didn't get any until about 30 minutes in. When we did, it was freshly baked but was also tasteless. Prices are exhorbitant ($220 including tax/tip for 2 people and no alcohol - although does include a corkage fee). When playing in that league, there are better alternatives for foodies. If the prices were knocked down a notch or two, then it would be a good match for a decent restaurant. It's clear the owners are trying very hard to provide an outstanding, high end dining experience, it's just that the food is a little mediocre. Try it once to see if it's to your liking.

Greeted on arrival and quickly seated. Not too busy on a Saturday night. Must have hit it good because they were full the week before. Reasonably quiet atmosphere with modern/casual decor. Excellent service. Really good food (chopped salad, carbonara, short ribs) Will certainly return.

Just returning from 3 months in Italy we were looking forward to trying v's (which is where the old allegria used to be). They haven't changed the interior much but they improved the small bar area. It's always been pretty inside! The flatbread appetizer was good and the grilled chicken was excellant. The pastas were average at best and were ridiculously expensive for what they were! The bollegnese was $28 for pappardelle pasta that was beyond al dante (almost hard!) and the flavor on the sauce was totally off. For $28 for a small bowl of pasta it better be amazing and have some lobster or truffles in it!!! Which this of course did not. No pasta with meat sauce should be that expensive (not even in Malibu!). The chocolate peanut butter dessert was good. The creme brûlée was average. All in all it was a good (not great) local spot that was a bit pricier than it should be. That said, I would probably go back and avoid the pastas next time!

Though we live in Malibu and V's has been open for a while, we hadn't tried it. Someone highly recommended going so Sunday pre-movie we popped in for an early dinner..(hence we have no knowledge of the bar scene and if it's a hot spot). I used open table, was greeted at the door, enjoyed fabulous food and would certainly go back to try other things on the menu that looked wonderful.

Unfortunately this local neighborhood gem and family restaurant was not up to par last night and the delicious food that once was, is no longer. Several of our favorite dishes are not being prepared in the same style and I find it hard to believe that the Chef that once prepared the stand our dishes and those fantastic scallops is still in the kitchen. When I ask if they changed their Chef in the kitchen, I am told no, however the food speaks a different story. Perhaps the reality of running a profitable restaurant have cut into the Chef's ability to prepare the same level of cuisine he was able to present when the restaurant first opened. This restaurant is way overpriced and the food is disappointing.

I have no idea where the other people who posted reviews for this restaurant had dinner, but I find it hard to believe that it was V's. The food was medicore - at best. My pasta dish was fine, but the salmon was dry. They ran out of chicken. Who runs out of chicken? They suggested adding chicken to one of the pastas. (Where that chicken came from is anyone's guess.) It made a bad pasta dish worse. The only thing worth complimenting was the server. Nice guy but his good attitude doesn't outweigh the bad food.

V's was recommended by locals and they did not lie. One of the best meals I have had. Clean, organic, beautifully prepared and presented. Great wait staff. I had the pan-roasted chicken served with grilled Brussels sprouts and mashed potatoes with a hint if lemon (amazing). Husband ordered grilled wild salmon served with rice on puréed green peas. We finished our meal with chilled butterscotch pudding and cookies. If you are in Malibu and you don't have dinner here you will miss a rare opportunity for a gray meal in a lively modern setting. We are on vacation and going again before we leave.

Salmon was a delicious bonus, as it gave me faith again in ordering that fish. It was cooked perfectly, seasoned well- I was seriously shocked how good it was. Thank you again V's!! Food was very good and staff and owner were very friendly. As this was our first visit to this restaurant, we felt very welcome here. Our only negative note was that the restaurant was extrememly noisy at the time we were there. As the time got a bit later and the crowd diminished, it was more comfortable. Also, the lack of parking and a $5 service charge was problematic. We plan to return again to this restaurant soon.

Good food and service. First time at the place and I was impressed. Though we only had meatball hor d'oeuvres and margharita pizza, both were excellent. The staff was extremely patient with us, because we were more into talking than eating. And now I'm smitten to boot. All good. But me being smitten has nothing to do with this review.....definitely a great place.

Well, there are a lot of good places to eat in Malibu, but V's is certainly at the top. Very nice ambience, experienced wait staff, not kids, fantastic food, nice wines.... Only negative which is actually a positive is that it is not on the beach. Dining is inside, so you don't get blown away or too hot or cold while eating a nice meal.

We went to the restaurant for the first time. The interior is very nice and comfortable, the food was delicious and the service was excellent. However!! The noise level is uncomfortable. We were 6 people, seated closely together and still had a hard time hearing each other... We are not an older group, btw. Bottom line, I would recommend this place, but I would highly caution about the noise level. Better to go off hours when less crowded. Perhaps the restaurant could install acoustical tile on the ceiling to lower the sound....

This little gem on the PCH in Malibu is a great place for couples or small groups to enjoy modern American cuisine. The ambience is modern elegant American meets seaside chic. The crowd is on the mature side, the service is attentive and professional, but somehow this places manages to casual and not stuffy. Share a delicious flatbread as a starter. The heirloom tomato is delicious. The main courses are familiar American comfort classics prepared in a modern way. I really enjoyed the roasted chicken served on a bed of mashed potatoes and Brussel sprouts. The mash potatoes have a lemon zest and a light chicken jus. My husband ordered a delicious homemade pasta. But I look forward to trying the filet the next time we go.

I choose meat ball as an appetizer, and after seeing the portion ended up canceling the main course. I will have to go back!! which I gladly will! My partners seared tuna was done perfect as was the fantastic beef rib dinner! I indulged in a wonderful bread pudding with Greek yogurt, vanilla and Meyers lemons. Yummy!!!
