Service was extremely slow for it not to be crowded. Our reservation was at 6:15 pm we didn't get served our food until 7:00 pm. Felt rushed to eat our food in order to walk to the theater which was several blocks from the restaurant for our 8:00 pm show. Our waitress did not check on us at all after we received our food. The food was just ok. Will not be returning.

The food was just ok. We had the cracklings appI and the biscuits and they were pretty yummy. As tor the entrees they were not as good as we expected. I had to send my shrimp and grits back due to it being cold. It took over 20 mins for me to get a second dish “that was on the fly and was being rushed to fix” per the waitress. It was not any better the 2nd time around. My friend had the meatloaf with Mac and cheese and green beans. She said the mac and cheese was “just ok” and the green beans had little flavor and were “mushy.” The chocolate spoon cake is very good, super rich and decadent. Overall, the service was good and the restaurant was nice. The food was just not up to par. I don’t think we will be back anytime soon.

We have eaten here for many years and always enjoyed it until yesterday. We had reservations at 5 PM. The restaurant smelled like bad fish when we arrived. We ask to sit outside. We had a great waitress and we were served quickly. However, my wife's chicken was cold and she sent it back. It came back and you could tell it was microwaved to heat it up. The wing had no meat on it, dry skin and overcooked. The mac n cheese was cold too. It was obvious this was left over from lunch and heated up to serve. Our waitress told us he was cooking a fresh batch...After her 2nd return. What does that tell you, it wasn't fresh, it was leftovers... My smash burger was not that great, but I ate it. I've had better hamburgers at Burger King. I wasn't excited about my wife's experience, nor mine. They didn't charge her for her meal. However, we won't return. There prices are very high as well. Go elsewhere to eat downtown Charlotte. There are a ton of good restaurants.

My 1st and last visit. My husband and I ordered the same dish, chicken and waffles. One with blueberries and the other without. I asked for whipped cream. The food took awhile, arrived cold, and I had 1 less waffle than he did and he received 1 piece of overcooked chicken…the other piece was missing. I expressed concern about my dish, it’s presentation, along with the missing whipped cream and syrup. When the server returned with the missing items, we asked for the manager to discuss my husbands missing chicken and the service. The server informed the waitress who went to the back and got more chicken which was not hot.

The service our group received was very poor. The waiter was distracted and not present to refill beverages, check on items that were delayed, and to provide the check. We never received some of the items ordered or refills that were asked about numerous times. We also ordered during happy hour but were charged the regular price for items. With the wait already being so long we didn’t get the check adjusted. The restaurant was busy but there was plenty of staff present which didn’t make sense. All we never saw a manager either.

First time visit. Air conditioning was cranked up to the point that we requested a change of table. Staff was very accommodating. Chicken Tortilla soup was very good but needed to be hotter. Rosemary potatoes were decent but not special. The Pecan pie was delicious. Love that they offer a full or half slice. Parking was a challenge as we were not familiar with the area and on street parking was full. One of our friends had the Mac & Cheese and said it was delicious. Would go back.

Our server was great and the food was wonderful. In terms of ambiance, the hostess were on their phones almost the entire time and the servers were all gathered around the host stand. Trying to navigate around them to even get to the bathroom was a struggle. They seemed unaware they were just standing around in a group doing nothing. It was not very professional and was distracting.

We have not been impressed with the dinner menu of late. Strange combinations, overcooked meats and vegetables, and poor tasting salad dressings. The biscuits are always delicious, but the rest of the menu needs an overhaul. Service has been spotty. Seems like servers are more interested in their social lives than pleasing their customers. Similar experience in multiple locations, so it seems change needs to happen from the top. This was likely our last experience at Tupelo Honey, unfortunately.

The food was awesome! I had the southern fried chicken, scrambled eggs w/cheese with a side of grits and my wife had the shrimp and grits minus the sausage. Also we had the fried cauliflower and fried pickles as appetizers. Everything was good! And to top it off right before we left they surprised us both with mini banana pudding cups for our anniversary! Really nice experience!

This was my 2nd time at this restaurant. The 1st time at their previous location, everything was magnificent. At this new location, everything has changed. The food doesn’t taste the same and they’ve changed their menu. Sometimes it’s best to leave things the way they were (how to gained your customers) instead of competing with the restaurants that surround you. The waiter wasn’t friendly nor knowledgeable about their menu. Just overall highly disappointing. I brought people here and they had to experience this type of service for 4.5 star restaurant.

My wife and I have been going to the original in Asheville for two decades - literally love that place. This restaurant is a very poor imitation. My wife was served raw bacon in her Cobb salad, the service was VERY slow and apathetic (we were without water, iced tea, or offered an opportunity to order another beer for the last 25 minutes of the meal, and it took 15 minutes once I gave the server my credit card to pay. Very disappointing - will be a forever client of the Asheville location, will prolly never go back to the uptown Charlotte locale…don’t waste your time, there are so many better options in CLT

Overpriced for the quality of the food and service. Our meal was disappointing - bitter drinks, dry-tasting chicken, soppy banana pudding dessert. The server was pleasant but not very professional and the maitre-d was all but rude. Will not be going back there.

Food was good. Tonic water in drink order was flat. Service was good. They need to pay attention to details more to improve their overall quality. What bothered me the most was seeing only an 88 sanitation grade on the wall....as we were leaving. I would not have eaten there if I had seen it before the meal.

Very nice and inviting atmosphere, spring summery vibes. The food had unique taste but side potions were very small compared to the poultry serving. My waitress was Dawn, initially very bubbly, knowledgeable about the menu and responsive. My guest and I split the smothered chicken with Mac and Cheese and Collard greens and the Sriracha chicken and waffles. I’ll let you judge, I’ll definitely give this place another try before I make a final decision on how I feel about it.

One person did not like their food. The breast, wing and mac and cheese were over cooked and dry. The Po Boy and the chicken and waffles were good for the other customers. The soda and carbonated drink machines were not working so we could not get any specialty drinks. I really should have asked for a new dish or a refund but we didn’t have time before the concert so I decided not to complain.

We came before we went to go see a musical. The spot was conveniently located near the Blumenthal. We are thinking of making this our new presagie spot. The menu had soo many great options. The restaurant was full but not crowded. It had a really great ambience. The entire staff was friendly. I suggest making a reservation.
