It’s not bad, but it could be so much better. The mushroom omelet needed seasoning, salt/pepper, something. Roasted potatoes were nothing special, again, missing flavor. Our waiter was nice enough, but could not seem to understand how we wanted the bill split. The patio area could be a nice place to be, except that they have space heaters and fans blasting, creating a strange environment. The fan above us was not installed correctly and was hitting the vent beside it, and it seemed like it would come crashing down at any second.
Always good quality food and great service!
I think this is one of the best happy hours around! I rated it low this time bc we got surprised by the pricing. We mentioned to our server we were there for happy hour who kept us within the 6 pm timing. She went on to mention two special scampi appetizers & we tried both along with our regular selections.
There was no mention of the specials not being part of the happy hour menu however, imagine my surprise when the bill came & each appetizer was $22. That’s practically an entree price.
I think for specials ur wait staff should make mention of the pricing.
The food was amazing. We had the Sea Bass dinner with a cup of the tomato basil soup. Delicious. The chef accommodated my diet of Vegetarian Keto. It was delicious. The brussell sprouts were very tasty and the special salad was awesome. Been here before for their Sunday Brunch, this was our first time for dinner. Did not disappoint. Will definitely be back.
Bistro Joes never fails us! We absolutely love their brunch! Best French toast and breakfast flatbread around! We especially love the Albanian waiter “Andy” he’s always happy and efficient.
Food was great as was the service. We love the menu and always have a difficult time deciding what to order. We love that the restaurant is quiet enough so that we can have nice conversation at our table and not hear others around us.
Food was excellent but service was slow and inattentive. Food made up for the service.
Great service, great food!
Always great food! The best beet salad around! Also the shrimp & grits was divine.
We are visitors annually to Birmingham for short periods of time...and our very favorite restaurant and 1st on our list to visit is BISTRO JOE'S! The menu and the quality of ingredients is top notch! There are unique menu selections along with comfort food, seafood, steaks, flat breads and sliders! You name it and they have it!! The staff is attentive and accommodating, friendly and at your service! The manager is top notch and #1 in customer service! The restaurant is upstairs from PAPA JOES' MARKET....and I can assure you everything is top quality and FRESH! You will love this dining experience and be a regular here in no time! ENJOY your dining experience!
As usual another great meal at Joe’s. Service is amazing even though they are always busy.
Our waitress Jennifer was so helpful with our food selections. We would definitely go back there.
warm comfortable place plenty to watch during your meal. nice view of woodward on one side and the deli kitchen below on the other side
Love this place!
I took my daughter there for her birthday so it was a special occasion. It was for Sunday brunch I made reservations, and the waiter was busy so it didn't feel special. I also asked for a cupcake or something for my daughter's celebration and he never brought it out.
So it was good but not a great experience.
Dined in for Sunday brunch to celebrate a girlfriend’s birthday. We had a great time. Despite the cold weather, the enclosed patio had warming lamps that made the area cozy. Food was delicious and priced comparable to other brunch spots in the area. Bonus - the lower level is an outstanding market, so you can shop after you eat. Would go back.
Good food, good ambiance. Will recommend to friends.
I have a hearing problem. I noted I needed the quietest table in the house. The hostess went over her job description to accommodate my needs. Thank you
As always excellent service and food!
Excellent food... as usual. Fun Nd friendly atmosphere.... easy to chat with friends and family
We always have an excellent time here. Doesn't matter what day or time everything has been lovely.
Food and service was great! We had reservations and were seated right away.
A solid choice for a casual dinner. The food is exceptionally good.
Food was delicious. Disappointed though because my server lied to me about why my meal was taking so long. The kitchen burnt it, so it had to be remade. Understandable but server told me it just took longer to cook than other meals at the table. I ate alone and was offered nothing for the inconvenience
Good food, reasonable prices, service can be slow. Great wine list. The patio can be noisy and needs a good cleaning, but it is comfortable .
Great atmosphere - every time we go
Had a group of freshmen girls and they enjoyed it.
I had been to Bistro Joe's prior times for brunch with various friends and historically all was good. This time everything was BAD. The receptionist seemed to have too many things to do and wasn't able to greet me for many minutes. My order didn't appear for 30 minutes and then it was completely wrong as was my friend's order. Once corrected the order arrived cold, hardly any eggs on the plate but lots of potatoes with too much salt. I asked for the manager and she said sorry but didn't seem to be able to correct the situation and charged us full price for a very disappointing experience.
Always love bistro Joe’s for breakfast, lunch or dinner! Amazing food!!
Went to Bistro Joe's this past Saturday with friends. The food was excellent (we all shared the Tomahawk steak). We loved the Tableside preparation of the steak, but otherwise the service was unacceptably slow. It took much too long to get our drinks, we had to request bread several times, and by the time dessert arrived we were ready to leave out of frustration. I have been to Bistro Joe's many times, and it is the first time that I have had any complaint. I'm not sure what was going on - but it was disappointing.
The food was fantastic! The Hawaiian flatbread was one of the best flat breads I've ever eaten. The two teenage girls with me also enjoyed the meal. The only negative is that it was really busy so service was slower than ideal, but the server was quite nice in spite of the crowd.
We had a great lunch sitting ‘outside’. Even better when music was turned down per someone else’s request. Mussels outstanding and different. Husband really liked the mushroom flatbread. Good wine choices. Have never had a bad meal. We only do lunch here as it’s a schlep from our burb.
Cool outdoor seating area along Woodward Ave. Food was good as was the service. A little pricey but commensurate with the location.
I keep wanting to like this place more but the service was slow. And the restaurant was not super crowded.
Our waiter, Rafi, was outstanding!!! Our food was cooked to order and tasted delicious😊
The specials are always a hit, and I recommend it for brunch.
Very slow service on Friday evening. Food brought out 1 hr after ordering. Flat bread and escargot pastry was burnt. No apology or redo by Mike.
Never disappoints. Great coffee and food. I would definitely recommend reservations if you have a larger group or if you prefer an outdoor table.
